  • Design of drawing dies used in real industrial environments. It was designed by CAD software in many small & medium companies, but many products require various types, and sizes. Therefore, many companies are required to reduce process time and design mistakes. In this paper, for the automatic design of drawing dies, Design process considered that easy to team and use. which are used with Visual LISP/DCL language in a commercial CAD package, AutoCAD. It has adopted GUI in design system, and has applied DCL language. The system is based on the knowledge base system which is involved a lot of expert's know-how We have built database of design type and detail sizes. The automatic design system requires basic product type and sizes. Then the system accesses to the database and find out sizes by comparing with input parameters and generate drawing dies file.

  • A good drawability of material itself is required. To improve the formability in deep drawing process. Besides that bending resistance should be reduced by increasing die round appropriately, drawing load should be minimized by improving the lubricant condition between die and material, and breaking load should be increased by selecting a pertinent punch round and by augmenting the friction resistance in Punch. In this study, a multi-stage deep drawing process is analyzed using ABAQUS, the effects of formability factors. Such as die shoulder radius, punch-die clearance and friction coefficient are investigated.

  • In order to obtain the optimal products in deep drawing process, elliptical deep drawing tests were carried out with several shape radii of the punch and die. As parameters on testing, shape radii of the punch and die were selected. In addition, the conventional shape radii have been determined by trial-and-error using industrial experience and post processing test, and only approximate shape radii of the punch and die have been presented. The optimal shape radii of the punch and die in elliptical deep drawing process with biaxisymmetric blank shape are proposed. In this study, we suggest the appropriate conditions to be applicable to the actual manufacturing processes through the experiment and finite element method.

  • During the deep drawing process an initially flat blank is clamped between the die and the blank holder after which the punch moves down to deform the clamped blank into the desired shape. In general, sheet metal forming may involve stretching, drawing, bending or various combinations of those basic modes of deformation. The deformation problems of sheet metal working involve non-linearity in geometry and material. In this work, The punch load and thickness strain of electro-galvanized sheet steel (SECD) for elliptical deep drawing are examined under the various process conditions including, punch shape radius, die shape radius. The changes of punch load and thickness strain distribution of the deformed elliptical cup are affected by the size of each die shape radius.

  • In this research, we developed a pilot wire-drawing machine as well as wire end-pointing roller. Using these machines, we performed a pilot wire-drawing test at different coating material and lubricant when the reduction ratio is 10 %. To inversely compute the friction coefficient between the coating layer of wire and the surface of die for a specific lubricant, we carried out a series of three dimensional finite element analysis. Results show that the drawing force is varied with the coating material of wire at the same reduction ratio and lubricant. It is noted that the frictional coefficient in drawing is dependent on the coupled property of coating material and lubricant, indicating the best coating material for a given lubricant.

  • In this study, a CAD/CAM system for axisymmetric deep drawing processes has been developed. An approach to the system is based on the knowledge based system. Under the environment of CAD/CAM software of Personal Designer, the system has been written in UPL. The geometries of intermediate and final object in deep drawing process, including processes parameters are input for the CAD/CAM system. The input data can be obtained from the results of Pro_Deep. The parts drawing of die sets for each process is generated in tool design module of the CAD/CAM system. Also. the die assembly drawings can be obtained. NC commands for machining of the part can be generated in the developed CAD/CAM system.

  • As part of effort to reduce the process time from design to manufacture and delivery, the concept of CE(concurrent engineering) has been applied to design process. In this research, the drawing information management system (DIMS) was developed based on CE. The system can distribute electronic documents of drawing or work instruction parallel to all reviewers simultaneously and collect their annotations through network. Mark-up functions are used for annotations on the electronic documents. DIMS is a system which integrates drawing management, engineering BOM, CAD and raster drawings, etc. In this system, a SUN workstation is interfaced with PCs by LAN. CIMCAD-2D, Image Hunter, and ORACLE RDBMS are used for CAD drawings, raster drawings, and drawing information management, respectively. As an integration tool for all the information, LINKAGE is adopted.

  • In the automotive industry, cold-drawn austenitic stainless steel is commonly used to handle high fuel pressures in gasoline direct injection (GDI) engines. In this study, we analyzed the effects of main process variables such as cross-sectional shape, drawing speed and friction coefficient on the microstructure, hardness and residual stress of the drawn material in the two-step cold drawing process. By changing the cross-sectional shape in the first-step cold drawing, the possibility of improving the shape accuracy or physical properties of the finally cold-drawn fuel rail pressure sensor product was investigated.

  • Deep Drawing공정은 2차원 박판(Sheet Metal)에 그림이나 글자를 인쇄한 다음, 박판을 다이에 고정하고 펀치로 눌러서 3차원의 제품을 생산하는 소성가공의 한 방법이다. 그러므로, 2차원 평면인 박판에 어떻게 적절히 인쇄하여, 가공 후의 3차원 제품에 원하는 그림과 글자가 나타나게 할 수 있는지가 문제가 되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 Deep Drawing공정을 거쳐 완성된 제품을 측정한 후, 형상 역공학(Reverse Engineering) 기술을 이용하여 측정 데이터(Measured Points Data)를 입력으로 하는 매개변수 곡면 (Parametric Surface)을 만들고, Deep Drawing공정 전의 박판에 대한 매개변수 곡면을 만든 다음 두 곡면간의 매핑을 통해 위의 문제점을 해결하고자 한다.
