  • In this paper, we miniaturized the loop and coil in magnetic resonance wireless power transfer(MR-WPT) system for application to the small mobile device. The proposed disk type double coil resonator was designed to cause resonance at 6.87 MHz. It is composed of thin copper on both-side of acrylic substrate structured 2 mm width, 1 mm pitch and 8 turns. The outer radius of spiral coil pattern is 9 cm. And the proposed loop was made of the copper wire 5 mm diameter of cross-section. The size of loop is 10 cm diameter. For resonance at 6.87 MHz, the capacitor with 3,300 pF was connected in series on the loop. We rearranged the resonators and organized several WPT systems which is rearranged by resonators. The highest transfer efficiency of miniaturized WPT system was 35.67 %. This proposed design of spiral double coil will contribute to make resonator smaller for appling small and thin mobile device.

  • A double pancake winding method is widely used to make the superconducting magnet, using high temperature superconductor (HTS) tape. In the double pancake winding method, the joints with contact resistances between double pancake coils are inevitably needed. The electrical joule heating on the contacts causes refrigerant loss during operation. And a space outside the winding, for splices and mechanical support, is more than that for its layer-wound equivalent. In this paper, a double pancake winding method in order to reduce the number of the joints was proposed. Both of the double pancake coils using the conventional winding method and the proposed winding method have been fabricated and tested to make the solution technically feasible in the double pancake winding method. Especially, critical-current tests of the fabricated double pancake coils were conducted in order to show the same performance and confirm contact resistances between double pancake coils.

  • The heat flowrate and pressure drop of $CO_2$ in a multi-tube-in-tube helical coil type gas cooler were investigated experimentally. The mass flowrate of $CO_2$ and coolant were varied from 0.06 to 0.075 [kg/s], respectively and the cooling pressure of gas cooler were from 8 to 10 [MPa]. The heat flowrate of $CO_2$ in the test section is increased with the increase in mass flowrate of coolant, the cooling pressure and mass flowrate of $CO_2$. The pressure drop of $CO_2$ is decreased with the decrease in mass flowrate of coolant and $CO_2$, but decreased with increase in cooling pressure of $CO_2$. The heat flowrate of $CO_2$ in the multi-tube-in-tube helical coil type gas cooler is greatly higher than that of $CO_2$ in the double pipe type gas cooler, while the pressure drop of $CO_2$ in the multi-tube-in-tube helical coil type gas cooler is greatly lower than that of $CO_2$ in the double pipe type gas cooler. Therefore, in case of the application of $CO_2$ at the multi-tube-in-tube helical coil type gas cooler, it is expected to carry out the high-efficiency, high-performance and compactness of gas cooler.

  • In this paper. the lumped electrical circuit approach of mass/spring system is used to model the mechanical aspects according to the frequency. Therefore, the mass/spring system can be dealt with here and linked with the equivalent circuit of electric linear oscillatory actuator(LOA). Analysis models are double-coil type linear compressor for stirling refrigerator. The compressor consists of the moving coil LOA, piston, and spring. The electro-mechanical system with mass and spring can be represented using the lumped electrical circuit. We present the system impedance and dynamics of moving coil linear compressor.

  • Wireless power transmission which can transmit the electrical power through the air is the promise technology. In this paper, the effects of wireless power transmission using magnetic resonance method have been studied on coil material, resonance frequency, and antenna type. We have found copper tube as a coil material had the better characteristics than that of enameled wire, and the optimal resonance frequency was 13.6MHz in the range of from 1MHz to 20MHz. And the double square spiral type antenna as a load coil was the best. The power transmission distance by magnetic resonance method with 13.6MHz was 150 cm.

  • Coil specimen was prepared by coating a copper wire with two varnish thin layers: the first was polyamideimide (PAI)/nanosilica (5 wt%) varnish and the second was anti-corona PAI/nanosilica (15 wt%) varnish. Insulation breakdown voltage was investigated under inverter surge condition at $20^{\circ}C$, $70^{\circ}C$, $100^{\circ}C$, $150^{\circ}C$, $200^{\circ}C$, $250^{\circ}C$, respectively. The insulation lifetime of the two layered coil was tens of times longer than that of original PAI coil. And the insulation lifetime decreased with increasing ambient temperature because there was weak binding strength between copper and varnish layer.

  • We report two cases of patients with ruptured vertebral artery dissecting aneurysms that were treated using double overlapping stent placement. Angiography performed immediately after the procedure revealed a significant reduction of aneurysmal filling due to the intraaneurysmal thorombosis. In one case, complete disappearance of the lesion was observed after seven days and in the another one, the size of previous aneurysm sac was decreased on 7th post-procedure day. The reduced stent porosity caused by the overlapping stents, which result in significant hemodynamic changes inside aneurysmal sac, may accelerate intraanuerysmal thromobosis and may be helpful in achieving a more rapid complete occlusion of aneurysm. This double stent method may represent a therapeutic alternatives for dissecting vertebral artery aneurysm in which conventional endovascular techniques or stent supported coil embolization is not considered feasible and surgical treatment is contraindicated.

  • The orientational and dynamic behavior of liquid crystal molecules on the alignment layer surfaces of liquid crystal display (LCD) devices is crucial to their performance, but there are only a few methods of experimentally elucidating the interactions between the liquid crystals and the alignment layers. • Experiencing power declines when the secondary coil is at the middle position between two primary coils is a serious problem in segmented on-road charging systems with a single energized segmented primary coil. In this paper, the topological transformation of a primary circuit and a hierarchical compensation capacitor control are proposed. Firstly, the corresponding compensation capacitors and receiving powers of different primary structures are deduced under the condition of a fixed frequency. Then the receiving power characteristics as a function of the position variations in systems with a single energized segmented primary coil and those with double segmented primary coils are analyzed comparatively. A topological transformation of the primary circuit and hierarchical compensation capacitor control are further introduced to solve the foregoing problem. Finally, an experimental prototype with the proposed topological transformation and hierarchical compensation capacitor control is carried out. Measured results show that the receiving power is a lot more stable in the movement of the secondary coil. It is a remarkable fact that the receiving power rises from 10.8W to 19.2W at the middle position between the two primary coils. The experimental are in agreement with the theoretical analysis.
