This letter presents a polymer $1{\times}2$ thermo-optic totalinternal-reflection digital optical switch (TIR-DOS) with an index contrast of 1.5%-${\delta}$ operating at low power consumption. The structure of our $1{\times}2$ TIR-DOS was created by adding a reflection port to that of a conventional multimode filtering variable optical attenuator. To improve the total-internalr-eflection efficiency, a heater offset was applied to the crossing region of multimode waveguides of the TIR-DOS. The fabricated $1{\times}2$ TIR-DOS shows a low electrical power consumption of 18 mW for an on-off ratio of 35 dB.

This paper is to develop an integrated environment software on MS-DOS for linear programming. For the purpose, First, the linear programming integrated environment software satisfying both the educational purpose and the professional purpose was designed and constructed on MS-DOS. Second, the text editor with big capacity was developed. The arithmetic form analyser was also developed and connected to the test editor so that users can input data in the arithmetic form. As a result, users can learn and perform linear programming in the linear programming integrated environment software.

The dependence of n-channel 2 shot SLS poly-Si TFT characteristics on the DOS (density of states) parameters was investigated by using a device simulation. Device performances were most sensitive to the DOS of poly-Si/gate insulator (GI) interface and poly-Si active layer. Deep level states at the poly-Si/GI interfaces strongly affect the subthreshold slope.

MS-DOS 명령을 대신하는 자연어 인터페이스를 연구하였다. 자연어로 입력되는 한국어 문장을 형태소분석, 구문분석, 의미분석, 개념분석을 통해 대응되는 일련의 MS-DOS 명령을 생성한다. 형태소 분석에서는 Tabular Parsing법을 사용하였고, 구문분석에서는 문법적인 수식-피수식 관계를 확대하여 의미상의 수식-피수식 관계를 설정하고 이에 따라 문장을 몇개의 단위로 나눈다. 의미분석에서는 동사와 이들 단위들간의 관계와 단위를 구성하는 어절들간의 관계를 격관계로 설정하여, 개념망(semantic network)으로 문장의 의미를 표현한다. 이 개념망으로부터 MS-DOS 명령을 생성한다.

The fast-paced development in the field of U-Healthcare, which is available anytime and anywhere, is being underway in accordance with the development of IT technology. U-Healthcare technology has various security threats because it is based on network. The purpose of this paper is to examine the threats of DOS / DDOS attacks based on network attacks, and to propose the response technique that fit the situation of the U-Healthcare service by modifying the existing Detecting Early DOS / DDOS attacks through Packet Counting.

In this paper, we present a design and inplementation of the Hangul pascal programming language corresponding to Turbo pascal. The instructions of Hangul pascal were easily seledted to be understood of elementary middle, high school syudents, and Dos commands and error messages were translated into Hangul. Hangul-pascal were implemented into C-language under IBM PC XT / AT, MS-DOS.

Auxetic material is a material which has negative Poisson's ratio(NPR). Auxetic material shows some distinctive property like high energy absorbing property and high shear modulus. Among these, synclastic curvature is very interesting characteristic. When synclastic-curvature-material bends, it changes its shape like dome, contrary to non-auxetic material which changes its shape like saddle(anticlastic). This distinctive property could make it easy to manufacture curved structure like nose cone or wing panel in aerospace engineering. In this study, we studied a quantitative analysis about synclastic curvature of re-entrant panel with finite element model. We suggested a concept 'Degree of Synclasticity(DOS)', which means a ratio of curvature of load-direction and load-orthogonal direction. We studied the variation of DOS with two factor, unit cell inner angle(${\theta}$) and load position angle(${\phi}$). DOS decreases as ${\theta}$ increases because the unit cell goes out of auxetic-shape. As ${\phi}$ varies, DOS changes in a large range. So proper optimization of ${\phi}$ would be needed for application.

Purpose: This study was undertaken to identify which delirium screening instrument would be more useful in clinical practice. Methods: Data were collected from 118 nurses from six hospitals in five provinces in Korea. For the delirium screening three instruments were compared: NEECHAM Confusion Scale (NEECHAM), Nursing Delirium Screening Scale (Nu-DESC), Delirium Observation Scale (DOS). The MMSE-K was used for concurrent validity. The nurse subjects were surveyed as to the practical clinical value of each instrument. Cronbach's ${\alpha}$ coefficient and Kuder-Richardson 20 were used to confirm the reliability. Results: The range of three scales reliability was .70~.82 and the range of correlation coefficient was .63~.82 with MMSE-K. For sensitivity of NEECHAM, Nu-DESC and DOS was 1.00, 1.00 and 0.81 respectively and specificity NEECHAM, Nu-DESC and DOS was 0.88, 0.89 and 0.89 respectively. Nurses rated the practical use of the DOS scale as significantly easier to use than the NEECHAM and Nu-DESC. Conclusion: NEECHAM, Nu-DESC and DOS scales were acceptable in terms of reliability, validity, sensitivity and specificity. However, nurses rated the DOS scale as easier scale to use and had more relevance to their practice.

A laboratory experiment was conducted to determine the content of phenolics and flavonoids, antioxidant activity and antioxidant enzyme activity for the extracts from cowpea seed and sprouts. Plant length and weight of cowpea sprouts were significantly increased until 7 days after seeding. Total phenolics level [mg chlorogenic acid equivalents (CAE) $kg^{-1}$ DW] was highest in dry seed (DS) extracts of cowpea ($63.9mg\;kg^{-1}$), followed by imbibed seed (IS) ($56.8mg\;kg^{-1}$) and 1-day-old sprout (1DOS) extracts ($46.4mg\;kg^{-1}$), and significantly reduced with increase of sprout age (p < 0.05). The antioxidant activity of the methanol extracts from all the samples showed same tendency to the results of total phenolics level, and dose-dependently increased. DPPH (1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl hydrazyl radical) free radical scavenging activity was higher in DS (87.3%) and IS (41.2%) than in cowpea sprouts from 1DOS to 7DOS, ranging from 17.1 to 30.4%. Antioxidant enzymes, APX, POX, and POX activities were highest in 7DOS and lowest in DS. SOD activity showed much higher activity in sprouts and in seeds. Correlation coefficient between physiological-active substance and the activity was highest between APX and CAT activities ($r^2$= 0.9574). Especially, total phenolics content was more highly correlated with antioxidant or with antioxidant enzyme activities than was total flavonoid level.

DDS network was implemented by utilizing the digital transmission in PSIN and finished field trial successfully for the first time in our country by DTC. Concept of DOS, how to implement, detail description of each section, comparison of DOS vs, analog data transmission system and result of field trial are presented.
