생활용수 수요추정방법 개선에 의한 하수발생량 예측에 관한 연구 (A study on the prediction of the generation of domestic sewage by improvement of water demand estimation)

  • This study was performed to improve water demand estimation and analize correlation between generation of domestic sewage and domestic water use. To improve the prediction of water demand estimation, new water demand equation was developed. The results is as follows. $InQ_t = {\beta}_0+{\beta}_1InP_t+{\beta}_2InY_t+{\beta}_3InH_t+{varepsilon}_t$By using the statistical analysis of the "generation of domestic sewage" and "domestic water use", the regression equation between them is formed. The result is as follows. Generation of domestic sewage : 0.8487 $\times$ Domestic water use + 684.57 ($R^2$= 0.972)>$R^2$= 0.972)

공동주택의 적정 급수.급탕량 산정 모델 (Estimation model of reasonable amount of domestic cold water and hot water supplies in apartment houses)

  • The estimation of reasonable amount of domestic cold water and hot water supplies in apartment houses is very important for the economical design of domestic cold water and hot water supply system which include pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, and various water reservoirs. To suggest the model of predicting reasonable amount of domestic cold water and hot water supplies, residents and actual domestic cold water and hot water consumption have been investigated for 740 apartment houses in Seoul and Bun-Dang, Kyunggi-Do. The model is suggested as a function of exclusive area of the apartment house and results of the model show generally good agreement with published data.

공항용수 원단위 산정 및 용수 사용량 추정방법 (Estimation of water unit factor and water demand of domestic airports)

  • The purpose of this research is to provide more reliable water unit factors of domestic airports by investigating of general informations related to the domestic airport. The informations of domestic airports such as passengers, settled population of airports, building areas and water amount are investigated to estimate the unit factor of water of domestic airports. The domestic airports are divided into three type such as central airport, position airport and general airport. Through analysis of relationship between water amount and the others, the unit factor of water could be calculated. The water amount of central airport as Incheon international airport and position airports could be estimated by unit factor of settled population. The others could be estimated by unit factor of building area.

The role of domestic tap water in Acanthamoeba contamination in contact lens storage cases in Korea

  • A survey was carried out from August to December 2004 in Pusan, Korea to document the presence of free-living amoeba (FLA), including the genus Acanthamoeba, in both contact lens storage cases and domestic tap water. Acanthamoeba was isolated from $5(4.2\%)$ in 120 contact lens storage cases. Four house tap water samples from residents, whose contact lens storage cases had been contaminated by Acanthamoeba, were also found to be contaminated with Acanthamoeba. Therefore, the contamination rate of FLA and Acanthamoeba in domestic tap water was investigated in order to examine the role of domestic tap water in Acanthamoeba contamination of contact lens storage cases. FLA and Acanthamoeba were identified in $97(46.8\%)\;and\;16(7.7\%)$ of the 207 domestic tap water samples, respectively. There were no significant differences between the contamination rates of FLA in tap water according to the filtration plant of origin. No FLA was detected in the tap water directly supplied by the water purification plants. Water storage tanks appear to promote FLA colonization, including Acanthamoeba, in domestic tap water. This increases the risk of Acanthamoeba contamination in contact lens storage cases as well as increasing the risk of Acanthamoeba keratitis.

가정용수의 사용 목적별 소비경향 특성분석 (Analysis of Domestic Water Consumption Characteristics for Water Usage Purpose)

  • Throughout the analysis of field data from water distribution system, valid parameters were determined that can be included in the water service and design plan. This study investigates water consumption patterns to understand the variation of water-demand structures utilizing the pattern analysis of domestic purpose water. Water use data were collected by a public water resources management firm in Korea, Kwater, for 140 houses monitored during three years. Flow meters were installed at the faucet for drinking water, the shower booth, the laundry machine, bathroom sink, toilet, and garden faucet. Data was filtered using multiple physically meaningful criteria to improve analysis credibility. Mann Kendall and Spearman's Rho tests were used to carry out the analysis. Distinct factors of water consumption patterns can be determined for both increasing and decreasing trends of water use. Throughout the data analysis, the characterization of terms was classified and analyzed by the condition of the location of water-demand. Analysis of this data provide a physical basis for the parameter configuration of a reasonable design for a domestic water demand prediction model.

효율적 우수이용을 위한 초기우수의 수질변화 (Rainwater Quality Variations for the Effective Usage)

  • A water quality analysis of rainwater collected from catchment equipment(2m${\times}$1m) was conducted to determine its suitability for domestic purposes, in this study. As the results of analysis, the pH of rainwater was 6.3${\pm}$0.3, and the turbidity of rainwater was over the 5 times than drinking water guidelines. For the usage of rainwater as the domestic and drinking water, the rainwater is need to treat. The analysis value of BOD was about 3 mg/L and the values of heavy metal as the Pb, Cd, Fe, Mn, Cr$\sub$6/$\^$+/and Cu was satisfied with drinking guidelines. Overall results of analysis support the possibility of rainwater as the domestic and drinking water.

국내 생물종을 이용한 생태독성평가 기반연구 : (II) 물벼룩류 (Fundamentals of Ecotoxicity Evaluation Methods Using Domestic Aquatic Organisms in Korea : (II) Water Flea)

  • 본 연구에서는 국내 수계에 서식하고 있는 수서생물을 대상으로 수행된 바 있는 국내외 독성 시험법의 노출 기간, 종말점 등 시험 세부 조건을 수렴하여, 향후 국내생태 독성시험법 개발을 위해 각 생물종별 시험 세부 조건별 범위와 생태독성평가기법 구축을 위한 방향을 제시하였다. 기존에 국내 생물종을 대상으로 국내외에서 수행된 바 있는 독성 시험법에 대한 연구 사례를 검토한 결과, OECD등의 표준시험법에서 추천한 시험종을 대상으로 한 독성자료가 상당 부분을 차지하였다. 또한 표준시험법의 공시종 이외에도 국내 생물종에 대한 소량의 연구 자료가 있었으나, 대체로 표준시험법을 개별 상황에 맞게 수정 적용한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 노출기간 및 배양액은 생물종마다 상이한 조건으로 수행된 바, 물벼룩류 독성시험에 있어서 가장 유의해야 할 조건인 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 국내 생물종을 이용한 생태독성평가 기반이 미비한 현 시점에서 보다 체계적인 국내생태독성시험법을 개발하기 위해서는 향후 실험 조건과 동일한 조건에서 생활사를 측정하여 보다 명확한 노출기간을 설정, 본 연구에서 선정한 물벼룩류 9종을 대상으로 도출된 생태독성시험기법에 대한 검증 그리고 기존 연구에서 사용되지 않았던 새로운 시험종 개발 및 각각의 시험종에 따른 최적 실험 조건 규명이 선행되어야 할 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 국내 생물종을 대상으로 한 독성시험기법 및 방향을 제시함으로써 국내 수생태계 실정 및 먹이 연쇄를 통한 생물종 간 상호 관련성 등을 고려할 수 있는 국내 시험종 및 그에 따른 시험법 개발을 위한 중요한 기반이 될 것으로 판단된다.

하수종말처리장 방류수를 밭작물 관개용수로 처리시 시금치와 배추의 생육, 대장균 분포 및 토양의 질 평가 (Growth Response and Total Coliform Distribution of Spinach and Chinese Cabbage and Soil Quality by Irrigation of Domestic Wastewater)

  • The experiment was carried out to determine the distribution of total coliform the translocation of heavy metals and the salt accumulation in soils following the supply of ground water, the domestic wastewater and the ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater during the spinach and the chinese cabbage cultivation. There were not much changes in the Total-N, Total-P and cations in soils following the ultraviolet treatment of the domestic wastewater. However, the density of total coliform was dramatically reduced from 894MPN/100mL to 5MPN/100mL. The diagnosis of composition of soil after the harvest of chinese cabbages and spinach has shown that the concentration of Na$^+$ was 3-4 times higher in plot using domestic wastewater than in plot using ground water. When domestic wastewater and ground water were used in growing spinach md chinese cabbage at 50% each, the application of chemical fertilizers reduced about 25% to 50% compared to the criteria set down by the Rural Development Administration and there was not significant difference in terms of harvest. Using non-ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater directly on spinach and chinese cabbage has resulted in excessive density of total coliform at 25,000MPN/100mL. Even when ultraviolet treatment, the density was still high at 2,000MPN/100mL. The high density of total coliform even following ultraviolet treatment of domestic wastewater is considered to be caused by photo-reactivation of micro-organism. When reusing domestic wastewater, the application of sterilization such as ultraviolet, ultrasonic and electron-beam for public health and hygiene reasons may provide safe supply of agricultural water.

하수 원수내 유해물질 변화에 따른 생태독성평가 (Variation of hazardous substances in sewage ecotoxicological assessment)

  • According to industrialization, increased toxic chemicals discharge has been causing water pollution. Especially domestic sewage is a major source of water pollution. Sixty percent of the total wastewater discharged is domestic sewage. Self-purification capacity of rivers and streams is drastically reduced by the emission of domestic sewage, industrial wastewater and livestock wastewater. Although domestic sewage is managed by implementing standards and regulations, toxicity effect of domestic sewage to humans and the environment is not yet clearly understood. In this study, by using daphnia magna, the ecotoxicity of domestic swage was assessed. Cl, Cu, Pb, COD, T-N, DO, pH and residual chlorine were investigated as background concentrations. The experiments were conducted with water samples obtained from three local sewage treatment plants. The experiment results indicated that higher level of toxicity corresponds to the higher pollution concentrations. The higher level of combinations of background concentrations such as heavy metals leads to the worse ecotoxicity. Especially, the Cu concentration affects the TU value.

경제성 지표를 활용한 농업용저수지의 생활용수 공급가능성 평가 (Assessment of domestic water supply potential of agricultural reservoirs in rural area considering economic index)

  • Existing agricultural reservoirs are considered as alternative source for the water welfare of rural area. In this study, domestic water supply potential of 476 reservoirs, which has storage capacity more than one million cubic meter, out of 3,377 agricultural reservoirs managed by Korean Rural Community Corporation (KRC) were investigated. Among them water quality of 136 reservoirs met the criteria of domestic water source which show less than COD 3 ppm. Available amount for domestic water of reservoirs, which meet the water quality, for ten year return period of drought was analyzed with reservoir water balance model. The results showed that 116 reservoirs has potential for supplementary domestic water supply while satisfying irrigation water supply. Finally, economic analysis using Net Present Value (NPV), Benefit-Cost (B/C) ratio, Internal Rate of Return (IRR), and Profitability Index (PI) methods was also conducted. The analysis showed that 19 reservoirs satisfied economic feasibility when water is provided from reservoir outlet but only 9 reservoirs meet the economic feasibility if water delivered from a reservoir to treatment plant by newly built conveyance canal. In order to supply the domestic water through the agricultural reservoirs managed by KRC, it is necessary to flexibly interpret and operate the 'Rearrangement of Agricultural and Fishing village Act'. Also, it is reasonable to participate in the water service business when there is a supply request from other Ministries. In addition, the KRC requires further effort to change the crop system for saving water and improve efficiency of irrigation systems.
