은유표현의 명제성과 은유성 (Propositionality and Metaphoricity of Metaphor)

  • The purpose of this paper is twofold. On the one hand it takes issue with Engstrom's claim that conceptual metaphors are propositional; on the other, it aims to demonstrate that the mathematical term 'mapping' is inappropriate for the analysis of metaphors. To my mind, the propositional analysis of metaphors, a wrong analysis for that matter, originates in the notion 'mapping' I argue that partial 'mapping' between propositional meanings and metaphorical meanings is either mental or psychological, with no concomitant 'truth' value. When concept metaphors represent propositionality, they lose metaphoricity; when they obtain metaphoricity, they are free of propositionality. The mathematical terms 'mapping' and 'proposition,' it is stressed, should be avoided in the analysis of concept metaphors like 'A is B' because they are confusing when applied to linguistic expression. 1 suggest that the term 'mapping' be replaced by phrases such as 'interaction between two domains,' projection from source-domain to target domain,' or 'understanding the properties of two domains between A and B,' etc. This would amount to proposing a pragmatic or cognitive theory of metaphor.

근접장 효과를 고려한 추진기 얇은 층 캐비테이션에 의해 유기되는 변동압력에 관한 연구 (Pressure Fluctuation Induced by Propeller Sheet Cavitation with Consideration of the Near Field Effect)

  • A theoretical study on the pressure fluctuation induced by a propeller was carried out in this study. The main objective of this study is to analyze the source mechanism of the pressure fluctuation induced by propeller sheet cavitation. To analyze the pressure fluctuation induced by propeller sheet cavitation, modern acoustic theory was applied. Governing equation of pressure fluctuation induced by sheet cavitation was derived using Ffowcs Williams proposed time domain acoustic approaches. Several factors affecting pressure fluctuation were analyzed based on the derived governing equation. Pressure fluctuation result was represented by combined results of the far field term and near field term. Finally, the physical mechanism of pressure fluctuation at the blade rate frequency was analyzed using numerically generated cavitation volume variation.

SYMMETRY AND MONOTONICITY OF SOLUTIONS TO FRACTIONAL ELLIPTIC AND PARABOLIC EQUATIONS

  • In this paper, we first apply parabolic inequalities and a maximum principle to give a new proof for symmetry and monotonicity of solutions to fractional elliptic equations with gradient term by the method of moving planes. Under the condition of suitable initial value, by maximum principles for the fractional parabolic equations, we obtain symmetry and monotonicity of positive solutions for each finite time to nonlinear fractional parabolic equations in a bounded domain and the whole space. More generally, if bounded domain is a ball, then we show that the solution is radially symmetric and monotone decreasing about the origin for each finite time. We firmly believe that parabolic inequalities and a maximum principle introduced here can be conveniently applied to study a variety of nonlocal elliptic and parabolic problems with more general operators and more general nonlinearities.

IT아웃소싱 환경에서 도메인이해도가 성과에 미치는 영향: 조직학습, 지식이전 및 아웃소싱비율의 조절효과를 중심으로 (The effect of domain understanding on IT outsourcing performance based on a learning model of IT outsourcing)

  • Owing to the current economic downturn, one of the most important goals of the organizations who are actively involved in Information Technology Outsourcing (ITO) is the cost efficiency. We focus on supplier firm's domain understanding to make the cost efficiency; therefore, we examine how the disadvantages from lower domain knowledges affect outsourcing performance moderated by outsourcing ratio and knowledge change environments. That is, if clients can endure disadvantage from service providers' lower domain knowledge, they can achieve cost efficiency by choosing lower domain knowledge suppliers with less expensive cost. To examine performance gap depending on the environments, we applied 'A Learning Model of IT Outsourcing' which is suggested by previous literature. As a result, we suggest five strategies for clients to contract with suppliers which have lower domain knowledge: (1) Prepare the strategy to endure disadvantages from the early stage. (2) Make the strategy depending on outsourcing ratio. (3) Knowledge transfer between organizations is important. (4) Make a short-term contract if they do not have good environments for organizational learning. (5) Client's knowledge change environments are more important than those of supplier's. Finally, we offer various implications for clients and suppliers in IT outsourcing.

불규칙 파랑 중 직접 예인하는 케이슨의 상판침수에 대한 시간 영역 해석 (Time Domain Analysis on Deck Wetness of a Caisson Wet-towed in Irregular Waves)

  • 불규칙 파랑 중에서 직접 예인하는 케이슨의 상판침수에 대한 수치해석을 수행하였다. 패널법을 이용하여 주파수 영역에서의 선형 운동해석을 수행하였고, 통계적 방법을 통해 상판침수를 예측하였다. 시간영역 해석에서는 예인시스템, 환경하중 등을 상세히 구현하여 운동해석을 수행하였고, 상판침수 결과를 주파수 영역에서의 결과와 비교하였다. 또한, 시간 영역 해석에서는 예인선의 수 및 배치에 대한 검토를 수행하여 상판침수 측면에서 예인시스템이 미치는 영향과 운송조건을 고찰하였다.

창의성 영역문제의 탐색 및 재접근 (Investigation of Domain-specificity of Creativity and the 3-year follow-up)

  • 본 연구는 크게 두 부분으로 이루어져 있다. 연구 1에서는 창의성의 영역 특수성과 영역 보편성의 문제가 109명의 초등학교 2학년생들을 대상으로 연구되었다. 연구 1의 주목적은 첫째, 세 가지 다른 영역간의 아동들의 창의성의 상관관계를 검토하고, 둘째, 아동들의 일반적인 창의적 사고능력과 세 영역에서의 창의성의 관계를 조사하고자 하는 것이다. 연구 2에서는 연구 1에 참여하였던 학생의 일부 (71명)을 대상으로 후속연구를 실시하였다. 연구2에서는 전문가 평정에 의한 창의적 수행평가가 3년이라는 기간동안 장기적 안정성을 나타내는가의 문제와 최근 이슈로 대두되고 있는 창의성의 영역문제에 있어서의 방법론적 효과에 대하여 살펴보고자 하였다. 즉, 실제의 수행평가를 사용할 경우와 자기보고 형식을 사용할 때에 창의성의 영역 문제에 대한 결과가 다르게 나타날 수 있음을 살펴보고자 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 아동들의 창의력이 영역 보편적이기보다는 다소 영역 특수적이라는 입장을 지지하고 있다. 본 연구에서 아동들은 세 가지 다른 영역에서 일관성 있는 창의적 능력을 보이기보다는 각 영역 간 폭 넓은 창의력의 차이를 보이므로 창의력이 상당히 영역 특수적임을 제시했다. 또한 아동들의 일반적인 창의적 사고 능력을 측정하기 위해 사용된 창의성 검사들은 세 가지 영역에서 드러난 아동들의 창의성과 매우 낮거나 무의미한 상관관계를 보였다. 이와함께 이 연구는 전문가 평정에 의한 아동의 창의적 수행평가가 적절한 신뢰도 뿐 아니라 장기적으로도 안정적이고 타당한 창의성 평가 방법일 수 있음을 시사하였으며 창의성에서의 영역문제가 어떠한 접근 방법을 취하느냐에 따라 결과가 다르게 나타날 수 있음이 제기되었고 그에 따른 논의가 전개된다.

자기 정규화를 통한 도메인 불변 특징 학습 (Learning Domain Invariant Representation via Self-Rugularization)

  • Unsupervised domain adaptation often gives impressive solutions to handle domain shift of data. Most of current approaches assume that unlabeled target data to train is abundant. This assumption is not always true in practices. To tackle this issue, we propose a general solution to solve the domain gap minimization problem without any target data. Our method consists of two regularization steps. The first step is a pixel regularization by arbitrary style transfer. Recently, some methods bring style transfer algorithms to domain adaptation and domain generalization process. They use style transfer algorithms to remove texture bias in source domain data. We also use style transfer algorithms for removing texture bias, but our method depends on neither domain adaptation nor domain generalization paradigm. The second regularization step is a feature regularization by feature alignment. Adding a feature alignment loss term to the model loss, the model learns domain invariant representation more efficiently. We evaluate our regularization methods from several experiments both on small dataset and large dataset. From the experiments, we show that our model can learn domain invariant representation as much as unsupervised domain adaptation methods.

  • This paper deals with BEM analysis of transient elastodynamic problems using domain decomposition method and particular integrals. The particular method is used to approximate the acceleration term in the governing equation. The domain decomposition method is examined to consider multi-region problems. The domain of the original problem is subdivided into sub-regions, which are modeled by the particular integral BEM. The iterative coupling employing Schwarz algorithm is used for the successive update of the interface boundary conditions until convergence is achieved. The numerical results, compared with those by ABAQUS, demonstrate the validity of the present formulation.

  • The inverse boundary value problem for the steady state heat equation with convection term is considered in a simply connected bounded domain with smooth boundary. Taking the Dirichlet to Neumann map which maps the temperature on the boundary to the that flux on the boundary as an observation data, the global uniqueness for identifying the convection term from the Dirichlet to Neumann map is proved.

  • In this paper, we study on a higher order extremal problem relating the Ahlfors map associated to the pair of a finitely connected domain in the complex plane and a point there. We show the power of the Ahlfors map with some error term which is conformally equivalent maximizes any higher order derivative of holomorphic functions at the given point in the domain.
