  • Xenie is the JAVA application software that integrates and represents 'gene to function'information of human gene. Xenie extracts data from several heterogeneous molecular biology databases and provides integrated information in human readable and machine usable way. We defined 7 semantic frame classes (Gene, Transcript, Polypeptide, Protein_complex, Isotype, Functional_object, and Cell) as a common schema for storing and integrating gene to function information and relationship. Each of 7 semantic frame classes has data fields that are supposed to store biological data like gene symbol, disease information, cofactors, and inhibitors, etc. By using these semantic classes, Xenie can show how many transcripts and polypeptide has been known and what the function of gene products is in General. In detail, Xenie provides functional information of given human gene in the fields of semantic objects that are storing integrated data from several databases (Brenda, GDB, Genecards, HGMD, HUGO, LocusLink, OMIM, PIR, and SWISS-PROT). Although Xenie provide fully readable form of XML document for human researchers, the main goal of Xenie system is providing integrated data for other bioinformatic application softwares. Technically, Xenie provides two kinds of output format. One is JAVA persistent object, the other is XML document, both of them have been known as the most favorite solution for data exchange. Additionally, UML designs of Xenie and DTD for 7 semantic frame classes are available for easy data binding to other bioinformatic application systems. Hopefully, Xenie's output can provide more detailed and integrated information in several bioinformatic systems like Gene chip, 2D gel, biopathway related systems. Furthermore, through data integration, Xenie can also make a way for other bioiformatic systems to ask 'function based query'that was originally impossible to be answered because of separatly stored data in heterogeneous databases.

  • The printing environment for output is commonly referred to as computers and printers using local connections in 1: 1 format. However, the local connection environment has spatial, temporal, and financial physical limitations. Therefore, a network-based output environment has been proposed and utilized as a way to supplement this.A network printer receives data in packets for document output, and generally does not support a security protocol. Therefore, when a network printer is used, there is a possibility that the content of a document being printed is stolen by being exposed to a network attack such as a meson attack or spoofing against a printed matter. In this paper, we define and define the requirements to cope with the meson attack on printed materials in a network printer environment where security protocol is not supported.

  • BPEL is a standard workflow language, which interacts with Web Services and is used in various applications. But it is difficult to use BPEL for specific applications which require additional functions. In this paper, we present a system which can add new functions to BPEL based on an aspect-oriented programming (AOP) technique. In order to add new functions to BPEL, we define a JWX document format that can describe new functions to apply to BPEL. JWX is XML-oriented document that can code the corresponding Java program in order to dynamically add new functions to BPEL documents. It is possible for BPEL workflow to add new functions without modifying the existing programs using the AOP technique, which guarantees low degree of coupling between key and additional requirements. Additionally this systems weaves based on new functions of Java program and JWX document by expanding BPEL engine called B2J based on AOP and execute them. Therefore it is possible to develop a new BPEL engine with additional functions easily and with low cost. The new system can execute additional conditions that the current BPEL engine doesn’t provide. The new system using functions of BPEL supplied by B2J. The new system can be used to add a new rule engine, which isn't currently provided.

  • The purpose of this study were to examine the high school teachers' and parents' perceptions on the evaluation criteria and standard of the school record-focused selection system, and to provide basic data on the development of college admission systems in order to measure student competencies more fairly and accurately. To this end, 102 high school teachers and 68 parents with high school children nationwide were surveyed online. The online questionnaire was produced based on the student screening criteria of J university and consisted largely of the following three areas: 'document evaluation', 'interview evaluation', and 'demographic survey'. The results are as follows. First, both teachers and parents said that the school record-focused selection system is a college admission format that can contribute to the activation of the 2015 revised curriculum. Second, both teachers and parents responded that personality, aptitude and potential are all important factors in document evaluation and interview evaluation. Third, school record-focused selection systems should continue to be maintained in order to promote the 2015 revised curriculum, but securing fairness in the admission process should precede that. Based on the results of the study, suggestions were made in order to improve the college admission system.

  • This study examined the trend of standards established in the United States and to find points that can be applied to Korean defense standards. The titles of various United States defense standard documents registered on the web were selected for this research. The wordcloud was created after analyzing the frequency of words appearing in the title using text mining. The trend of words appearing in MIL-STD by era was obtained. This study identified words that appear often due to the format of the document itself, words that appear regularly throughout the era, words that are used frequently in the past but are not used much in the present, and words that did not receive attention in the past but appeared recurrently in the present. In addition, the characteristics of each document were derived through the wordcloud produced for various defense documents. In conclusion, Korean defense standards also require a consideration of safe and efficient management, transport, and load design of hazardous materials. Furthermore, the quality of defense standards can be expected to improve if the defense standard document system can be established, focusing on efficient management.

  • In this paper, we propose a smart system that can optically recognize a music score within a document and can play the music after recognition. Many historic handwritten documents have now been digitalized. Converting images of a music score within documents into digital files is particularly difficult and requires considerable resources because a music score consists of a 2D structure with both staff lines and symbols. The proposed system takes an input image using a mobile device equipped with a camera module, and the image is optimized via preprocessing. Binarization, music sheet correction, staff line recognition, vertical line detection, note recognition, and symbol recognition processing are then applied, and a music file is generated in an XML format. The Music XML file is recorded as digital information, and based on that file, we can modify the result, logically correct errors, and finally generate a MIDI file. Our system reduces misrecognition, and a wider range of music score can be recognized because we have implemented distortion correction and vertical line detection. We show that the proposed method is practical, and that is has potential for wide application through an experiment with a variety of music scores.
