This paper studies theoretically the bit error rate (BER) performance of cooperative transmission using space-time block code (STBC) in a fully distributed manner. Specifically, we first propose a STBC-based cooperative signaling structure to make the cooperation of three single-antenna terminals possible. Then, we derive the closed-form BER expressions for both cooperation and noncooperation schemes under flat Rayleigh fading channel plus additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN). The validity of these expressions is verified by Monte-Carlo simulations. A variety of numerical and simulation results reveal that the cooperative transmission achieves higher diversity gain and better performance than the direct transmission for the same total transmit power.
Suitable for multi-input multi-output (MIMO) communications, the joint beamforming space-time block coding (JBSTBC) scheme is proposed for high-speed downlink transmission. The major functionality of the scheme entails space-time block encoder and joint transmit and receive eigen-beamformer (EBF) incorporating with block-ordered layered decoder (BOLD), and its operating principle is described in this paper. Within these functionalities, the joint EBFs will be utilized for decorrelating fading channels to cause an enhancement in the spatial diversity gain. Furthermore, to fortify the capability of layered successive interference cancellation (LSIC) in block-ordered layered decoding process, this paper will develop a simple ad-hoc transmit power discrimination scheme (TPDS) based on a particular power discrimination function (PDF). To confirm the superior behavior of the proposed JBSTBC scheme employing ad-hoc TPDS, computer simulations will be conducted under various channel conditions with the provision of detailed mathematical derivations for clarifying its functionality.
In this paper, we consider subcarrier-index modulation (SIM) for precoded orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) with a few activated subcarriers per user and its generalization to multi-carrier multiple access systems. The resulting multiple access is called sparse index multiple access (SIMA). SIMA can be considered as a combination of multi-carrier code division multiple access (MC-CDMA) and SIM. Thus, SIMA is able to exploit a path diversity gain by (random) spreading over multiple carriers as MC-CDMA. To detect multiple users' signals, a low-complexity detection method is proposed by exploiting the notion of compressive sensing (CS). The derived low-complexity detection method is based on the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm, which is one of greedy algorithms used to estimate sparse signals in CS. From simulation results, we can observe that SIMA can perform better than MC-CDMA when the ratio of the number of users to the number of multi-carrier is low.
We consider channel-coded multi-input multi-output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission and obtain a condition on its signal for it to attain the maximum diversity and coding gain. As this condition may not be realizable, we propose a suboptimal design that employs an orthogonal transform and a space-frequency interleaver between the channel coder and the multi-antenna OFDM transmitter. We propose a corresponding receiving method based on block turbo equalization. Attention is paid to some detailed design of the transmitter and the receiver to curtail the computational complexity and yet deliver good performance. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed transmission technique can outperform the conventional coded MIMO OFDM and the MIMO block single-carrier transmission with cyclic prefixing.
Cognitive Radio (CR) technology is proposed for using the unused spectrum band efficiently because of the spectrum scarcity problems. Spectrum sensing is one of the most challenging issues in cognitive radio system. In this paper, we focus on the signal detection of WiBro system band. As most of the modulated signals can be treated as cyclostationary random process, we can detect the signal of the OFDM signals in WiBro system. OFDM symbols using WiBro system have several pilot subcarriers and periodic pilots have cyclostationary characteristic. To improve of the detection performance, we get diversity gain using multiple antennas.

DS-COMA is now a matured multiple access technology that utilizes spreading codes for user separation. In this paper, we attempt to improve the performance of a multiuser DS-COMA system with a unique chip shaping code called Carrier Interferometry (CI) code. The CI codes exhibit an excellent correlation property that can be used in many applications. In DS-COMA with CI codes (CI/DS-COMA), the symbols are spread by a spreading code and then the chip signals are shaped using a CI code. Due to the correlation property of the CI code, a diversity gain from the shaped chip signals is achieved and the performance of DS-COMA is significantly improved. Comparison study demonstrates that the DS-COMA with CI outperforms the conventional DS-COMA system in multiuser environments.
Precoder has been shown to be able to provide source diversity and design flexibility. In this paper we employ precoding techniques for block transmission based on a multirate filterbank structure. To accommodate multiuser communication with variable data rates, different precoders with corresponding coefficients and up/down sampling rates are used. However, due to unknown multipath distortion, different interferences may exist in the received data, such as multiuser interference, intersymbol interference and interblock interference. To estimate channel parameters for a desired user, we employ all structured signature waveforms associated with different symbols of that user and apply subspace techniques. Therefore better performance of channel estimator can be achieved than the conventional subspace method based only on the signature of the current symbol. The delay for that user can also be jointly estimated. Channel identifiability conditions and asymptotic channel estimation error are investigated in detail. Numerical examples are provided to justify the proposed method. gest either multicode (MC) or multiple processing gain (MPG) mechanism [2], while requiring data rates to be integral multiples of some basic low-rate. In order to support variable rate transmission however, a comprehensive scheme needs to be investigated.

This paper analyzes the secrecy performance of an amplify-and-forward (AF) relay network, where a multi-antenna eavesdropper attempts to overhear the transmitted message from a multi-antenna source to a multi-antenna destination with a single antenna relay. Firstly, we derive the approximate analytical expressions for the secrecy outage probability (SOP) and average secrecy rate (ASR) of the relay network. Then, asymptotic expressions of SOP and ASR at high main-to-eavesdropper ratio (MER) are also provided to reveal the diversity gain of the secure communication. Finally, numerical results are given to verify the theoretical analysis and show the effect of the number of antennas in the considered relay network.
본 논문에서는 파일럿 심볼을 이용한 안테나 선택방법을 적용한 SFBC-OFDM(Space Frequency Block Code-Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) 시스템에 대한 성능을 분석한다.
This systematic review compared Korean and international researches on sensory integration therapy in patients with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). We targeted studies on sensory integration therapy for patients with ASD published from January 2000 through July 2016. Specifically, we analyzed the papers that used the phrase 'sensory integration, autism' as keywords. There were fewer Korean studies of sensory integration therapy, and the diversity of research topics were limited, focusing mainly on case studies. There was no difference between the internal/external validity of Korean and those of international studies targeting the clinical environment and patients. Further study of a variety of aspects of sensory integration therapy is needed to gain high internal/external validity.
