Earlier taxonomic studies of Korean Scutellaria reported a new record of Scutellaria hastifolia L. in Korea based on three herbarium sheets. During a reexamination of these specimens, we found that the leaf characters of these specimens differ from those in the type specimen of S. hastifolia. Based on a literature survey and confirmation of the type specimen, the specimens identified as S. hastifolia thus far were a misidentification of S. barbata D. Don. S. hastifolia is clearly different from S. barbata by single conspicuous teeth on both sides of the leaf margins and larger leaves. In addition to the distribution sites of the three specimens used in the previous study, a distribution site of the S. barbata was newly found in the southern part of Korea. In this study, we report a new distribution of S. barbata in Korea, correct a previous report of S. hastifolia, describe the morphological characters of S. barbata, and suggest a taxonomic key to Korean Scutellaria including S. barbata.

A taxonomic revision of Deutzia in Korea was conducted based on critical observations of wild populations and herbarium specimens. Species delimitations were re-evaluated on the basis of morphological characters and distributions resulting in the recognition of five taxa. The texture of leaf, flower disk and capsules, the shape of leaf, inflorescence and capsules are useful diagnostic traits at the specific level. The five taxa are well distinguished from each other. Deutzia grandiflora var. baroniana can be distinguished by its distribution and calyx from Deutzia uniflora, which are morphologically similar. Deutzia paniculata Nakai, a rare and endemic plant, is characterized by having panicle in inflorescences. On the other hand, Deutzia glabrata Kom. is occasionally confused with Deutzia parviflora, but the most distinctive characters include the surface of leaves, the surface and size of capsules. Photographs and a key to five species of Deutzia were provided in addition to distribution.
To better understand the morphological variation for Perilla crop in different areas of China, we studied the morphological variation in 87 accessions (84 cultivated var. frutescens and three cultivated var. crispa) from high latitude (Northeast China) and middle latitude (North and Northwest China) areas of China by examining seven quantitative and 10 qualitative characters. Analysis of the morphological variation determined that there was significant morphological differences in five quantitative traits between cultivated var. frutescens and cultivated var. crispa, including effective number of branches (QN2), number of internodes (QN3), number of branches (QN4), length of the largest inflorescence (QN5), and days from germination to flowering (QN7). However, two quantitative traits-plant height and number of florets of the largest inflorescence-did not show any significant differences between cultivated var. frutescens and cultivated var. crispa. In addition, significant differences for six quantitative traits were found between the accessions of cultivated var. frutescens originating from high and middle latitude areas in China, which included QN2, QN3, QN5, number of florets of the largest inflorescence (QN6), and QN7. Principal components analysis (PCA) identified five quantitative characters [plant height (QN1), QN2, QN3, QN4, QN7] and six qualitative characters [fragrance of plant (QL1), color of reverse side of leaf (QL3), degree of pubescence (QL5), color of flower (QL6), shape of leaf (QL7), and hardness of seed (QL10)] that contributed to the positive direction on the first axis. The other quantitative and qualitative characters contributed to the negative direction on the first axis. Most accessions of cultivated var. frutescens and cultivated var. crispa were clearly separated by the first axis. In addition, most accessions of cultivated var. frutescens are from high latitude and middle latitude areas that were clearly separated by the first axis, except for several accessions. The findings from this study will provide useful information towards understanding the morphological variation of Perilla crop according to geographical distribution in high and middle latitude regions of China.
The present study was conducted to evaluate agronomic characters of the soybean germplasm which was collected from the sites covering whole areas of southern Korean peninsula. A total of 2,748 Korean native soybeans was grouped for fruiting period and in this group frequency distribution of the important agronomic characters and relationships among the characters were determined. The results obtained were summarized as follows; The soybean germplasm was comprised of SeoulㆍKyonggi-do 7.5%, Kangwon-do 13.3%, Chungchongbuk-6.6%. Chungchongnam-do 12.3%, Chollabuk-do 10.7%, Chollanam-do 12.6%, Kyongsangbuk-do 20.8%, Kyongsangnam-do 15.3% and Cheju-do 0.6% in number of collections. Frequency distribution of the germplasm for fruiting period was 0.14% in Group I (below 55 days). 1.67% in Group II (56-60 days), 10.58% in (Group III(61-65 days), 23.18% in Group IV(66-70 days), 25.91% in Group V(71-75 days) 19.79% in Group Ⅵ(76-80 days), 15.1% in Group Ⅶ(81-85 days) and 3.6% in Group Ⅷ(over 85 days). The lines over 70 days in fruiting period were as much as 64.4% of germplasm. The fruiting period varied largely from 45 days to 91 days. Fruiting period was positively correlated to seed weight, days to maturity, days to flowering, plant height and number of branches per plant, respectively. While. it was negatively correlated to number of pods, lodging and virus infectivity, repectively, and in particular negative correlation was shown significantly between yield and fruiting period. Average yield was very high as much a 1.389kg/ha in fruiting period Group I, and decreased with increment of fruiting period, 1.400kg/ha in Group II. 1.384kg/ha in Group III. 1,299kg/ha in Group IV, 1,197kg/ha in Group V, 1,117kg/ha in Group Ⅵ, 967kg/ha in Group Ⅶ and 832kg/ha in Group Ⅷ.
Weibull distribution is a suitable distribution to use in modeling the life time data. It has been found to be a exact fit for the empirical distribution of the wind speed measurement samples. In brief this paper consist of important properties and characters of Weibull distribution. Also we discuss the application of Weibull distribution to wind speed measurements and derive an expression for the probability distribution of the power produced by a wind turbine at a fixed location, so that the modeling problem reduces to collecting data to estimate the three parameters of the Weibull distribution using Maximum likelihood Method.

A total of 47 core collections of pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) conserved in National Agrobiodiversity Center (NAC) were studied under field condition at Jeonju. All accessions were characterized for their 14 qualitative and 16 quantitative characters. Results revealed that both qualitative and quantitative characters exhibited wide variation among the studied germplasm. Distribution of fruit characters (fruit length, width, and fruit wall thickness) among the accessions was positively skewed. Of the 47 accessions evaluated, 38.3% accessions had conical shaped fruits and mature fruit color was predominantly red (51.1%), orange (21.3%) and yellow (14.9%). Principal component analyses revealed that (i) 56.64% of the qualitative (fruit shape, color and fruit surface) variation and (ii) 89.42% of the quantitative (plant width, height and fruit maturity days) variation were explained by the first two components. Clustering revealed two groups and dendrogram revealed morphological variation among accessions. The phenotypic diversity exists in this core collections provide valuable information to improve agronomic traits in pepper breeding program.

The purposes of this study were to examine the consumer's behavior on the brands applying the characters by gender, age and residential district, and then to propose the future planning of brands applying the characters and distribution strategies. From Junior on middle school to forty-year olds were selected for this study and areas were grouped to five for comparing the residential distinction. The questionnaire was consisted with 25 questions. Nominal scale and 5-interval scale were used for analysis. The SPSS 12.0 was used to analyze the technical statistics such as average, frequency, t-test, ANOVA, and $x^2$. The results of this study were as follows : 1) The characters influenced on remembering the brand's name regardless gender, agen and residential district. 2) When consumer bought the brand with character, the most important factor is the brand name recognition. 3) It would be desirable to use the one or two mixed methods which express the characters on the clothes. 4) When they distribute the character brands, they would supply more feminine characters in 3rd district, more manly one in 4th district and less quantities in the 3rd and 4th district for lowering inventory. The next must be follow to succeed the character using strategy of fashion brands. It is needed to segment the target for new character creation of specific generation, and to grasp the point of the trend which oriented by the target, and to reflect what they like and what they feel sympathy on character image and brand concept.
The statatistical characteristics and spectra of sea waves at Mookho were analysed by several statistical methods. As the results, the following conclusions are obtained: 1. Values of surface elevation of sea wave are better fitted to Gram Charlier distribution than Gaussian distribution. This proves that sea waves have not only characters of irregularity but also non-linearity. 2. Distribution of maxima of surface elevation practically follows the distribution of Cartwright and Longuet-Higgins, also spectral width parameter is found to be increased with the increase of root mean square of surface elevation. 3. Sea wave may have spectrum of broad frequency band, however distributions of wave heights and periods follow the Rayleigh distribution which is derived from the assumption of narrow frequency band. 4. Ratios among mean wave heights from observed data show good agreements with theoretical values from Rayleigh distribution. 5. Spectral density and spectral width parameter increase with increase of wind velocity. And wave period at optimum band gas higher value than significant wave period by about 10 percent.

Influence of characters of fly ash on the fluidity of cement paste with polycarboxylic acid type superplasticizer has been investigated in connection with the particle size of distribution, unburned carbon content, specific surface area and shape of fly ash. The fluidity of paste is increased with increasing roundness of fly ash and it is decreased with increasing n-value of Rosin-Rammler distribution function. There is a linear correlation between roundness/n-value and fluidity of fly ash cement paste.
Water inrush through the destruction of water resisting rock mass structure was divided into direct water inrush, key block water inrush and splitting water inrush. In the direct water inrush, the Reynolds numbers has a significant effect on the distribution of the water flow and vortex occurred in the large Reynolds numbers. The permeability coefficient of the fracture is much larger than the rock, and the difference is between 104 and 107 times. The traditional theory and methods are not considering the effect of inertia force. In the position of the cross fracture, the distribution of water flow can only be linearly distributed according to the fracture opening degree. With the increase of Reynolds number, the relationship between water flow distribution and fracture opening is studied by Semtex.
