  • It is certain that the future manufacturing environment will be network-centric and spatially distributed based on Internet. Today, wide variety of distributed computing and communication technologies are available for implementing a system for product data exchange and sharing. One of the technologies that have been received most attentions for product data exchange and sharing is Product Data Management (PDM). PDM tries to integrate and manage process of data and technical documents that are connected to physical product components. In accordance to previous researches about PDM, it can be regarded as an integration tool of many different areas, which ensures that the right information is available to the right person at the right time and in the right form throughout the enterprise. PDM with Web-enabled CAD system is proposed in this paper in order to acknowledge the usefulness of the system mentioned. The system will use Web service on Visual Studio C#.Net to invoke the web application system.

병원 위탁급식 품질관리를 위한 품질평가도구 개발 (The Development of a Quality Measurement Tool for a Contract-Managed Hospital Foodservice)

  • The purposes of this study were: a) to develop the a quality measurement tool for the contract-managed hospital foodservice, and b) to evaluate their performance with the developed quality measurement tool, and c) to verify the reliability and validity of the quality measurement tool. The developed quality measurement tool comprised two parts, which were foodservice management and medical nutrition care service. The foodservice management part was classified into six functional categories which were Menu, Procurement and Storage, Production and Distribution, Facility and Utility, Sanitation and Safety, and Management and Evaluation. The medical nutrition care service part indicated the medical nutrition care provided. Quality measurement tool had 91 standards and 324 indicators. The quality measurement tools were distributed to the hospital foodservice manager employed by the foodservice company. The 324 indicators were measured by foodservice manager on the 5-Likert-type scales, and then adapted to a 100 point scale. The SPSS Ver. 11.0 was used for statistical analysis. The categories whose scores were evaluated as being high were Procurement', General Sanitation', Personal sanitation' and Waste' and the categories whose scores were evaluated as being low were Diet Order Manual', Standard Recipe', Appropriateness (Facility and Utility)', Check (Facility and Utility)'and Information Management'. All the categories of medical nutrition service were evaluated as having seriously low scores. Therefore, it was necessary for the contract-managed hospital foodservice to improve its performance in the area of medical nutrition care service. For the verification of the developed quality measurement tool, the reliability obtained by calculating Cronbach's α was 0.8747, and the content validity was also proved by scrutiny of the modification of the Professional group's techniques. Distributed Design System as a New Paradigm Towards Future Collaborative Architectural Design Process

  • The use of computers in architectural professions has grown with the power of easy data management, increased sophistication of standalone applications, inexpensive hardware, improved speed of processing, use of standard library and tools for communication and collaboration. Recently, there has been a growing interest in distributed CAAD (Computer-Aided Architectural Design) integration due to the needs of direct collaboration among project participants in different locations, and Internet is becoming the optimal tool for collaboration among participants in architectural design and construction projects. The aim of this research is to provide a new paradigm for a CAAD system by combining research on integrated CAAD applications with recent collaboration technologies. To accomplish this research objective, interactive three-dimensional (3D) design tools and applications running on the Web have been developed for an Internet-based distributed CAAD application system, specifically designed to meet the requirements of the architectural design process. To this end, two different scopes of implementation are evaluated: first, global architecture and the functionality of a distributed CAAD system; and, second, the association of an architectural application to the system.

분산 저장된 과학기술정보 서비스를 위한 검색 데이터베이스 관리 도구의 설계 및 개발 (Development of the Management Tool for S&T information in distributed retrieval database)

  • 본 논문에서는 과학기술정보의 관리에 필요한 여러 기능을 포함하는 GUI 기반의 검색 데이터베이스 관리 도구(K-Manager)를 제안한다. 일반적으로, 웹 기반의 과학기술정보 서비스를 위해서는 검색 데이터베이스의 구성이 필수적이나, 검색 데이터베이스의 관리 기능이 관계형 데이터베이스와 같은 기능을 모두 지원하지 않을 뿐 만 아니라 TOAD나 GOLDEN과 같은 데이터베이스 관리 도구를 지원하지 않기 때문에, 콘텐츠 관리자나 시스템 관리자가 손쉽게 정보를 처리하기가 어려운 실정이다. 이 도구에는 과학기술정보를 관리하는 콘텐츠 관리자가 필요한 기능과 검색 데이터베이스를 관리하는 시스템 관리자가 필요한 기능이 GUI 기반으로 통합 구성되어 있어 콘텐츠 관리자가 원하는 데이터베이스에 접근하여 각종 데이터 작업을 수행할 수 있고, 데이터베이스 관리자가 데이터베이스의 관리도 수행할 수 있다. 특히 K-Manager는 대용량 과학기술정보의 빠르고 정확한 검색 서비스와 안정적인 관리를 위해 구성된, 분산 검색 데이터베이스에 저장된 정보를 처리하는데 효과적이다. 본 관리 도구는 크게 콘텐츠 관리기와 데이터베이스 관리기로 그 기능을 분류할 수 있으며, 국내 최대 과학기술 포털사이트인 Yeskisti의 콘텐츠 및 데이터베이스 관리를 그 기본 모델로 하였다.

  • There is a growing concern in reducing greenhouse gas emissions all over the world. The U.K. has set 34% target reduction of emission before 2020 and 80% before 2050 compared to 1990 recently in Post Copenhagen Report on Climate Change. In practise, Life Cycle Cost (LCC) and Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) tools have been introduced to construction industry in order to achieve this such as. However, there is clear a disconnection between costs and environmental impacts over the life cycle of a built asset when using these two tools. Besides, the changes in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) lead to a change in the way information is represented, in particular, information is being fed more easily and distributed more quickly to different stakeholders by the use of tool such as the Building Information Modelling (BIM), with little consideration on incorporating LCC and LCA and their maximised usage within the BIM environment. The aim of this paper is to propose the development of a model-based LCC and LCA tool in order to provide sustainable building design decisions for clients, architects and quantity surveyors, by then an optimal investment decision can be made by studying the trade-off between costs and environmental impacts. An application framework is also proposed finally as the future work that shows how the proposed model can be incorporated into the BIM environment in practise.

  • With the development of CNC(Computer Numerical Control) and communication technology, the connotation and functions of Distributed Numerical Control have been greatly enlarged. In this study, we develop and implement a Distributed Numerical Control system that has real time and multi-tasking operation capability for the machining cell with various NC(Numerical Control) and CNC machines. With the consideration of economy, generalization and extension, this system is interfaced with Shop Floor Control System, Machine Control System and Tool Preparation System using advanced networking method. In the implementation phase, we use the ORACLE DBMS (Database Management System) as the DBMS and Microsoft Visual C++ as the programming tools.

  • The rapid growth of Hardware technologies and Network fitted to us Ubiquitous Computing Life[1]. Ubiquitous Computing integrates computation into the environment, rather than having computers which are distinct objects. There are many computational things like a Sensor Network, RFID, GPS, Mobile devices, and so on. Ubiquitous Data Integration and Management are new paradigms. The goals of UDI Service Platform are data protection for the distributed data on pervasive computing devices and data distribution to appropriate users with best distribution policies. To implement the idea we evaluate the logical schema Cyber View that is a management tool.

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 생물정보학 연구에서 가장 많이 사용하고 있는 BLAST의 문제점을 분석하고 이에 따른 해결책을 제시하기 위하여 그리드 컴퓨팅을 이용한 G-BLAST(Grid Computing을 이용한 Basic Local Alignment Search Tool)를 제안한다. 본 연구에서 제안하고 있는 G-BLAST을 이용한 시스템은 이기종 분산 환경에서 수행이 가능한 서열분석 통합 소프트웨어 패키지이며 기존 서열분석 서비스의 취약점인 검색 성능을 개선하여 BLAST 검색 기능을 강화 하였다. 또한, BLAST 결과를 사용자가 관리 및 분석이 용이하도록 데이터베이스 및 유전체 서열분석 서비스 시스템을 구현하였다. 본 논문에서는 G-BLAST시스템의 성능확인을 위하여 병렬컴퓨팅 성능테스트 기법을 도입하여 구현된 시스템을 기존 BLAST와 속도 및 효율부분에서 비교하여 성능개선을 확인하였으며 서열결과 분석에 필요한 자료를 사용자관점에서 제공해주고 있다.

  • Petri Nets are a graphical and mathematical modeling and promising tool for describing and studying that are characterized as being concurrent, asychronous, dynamic, distributed and parrallel. The purpose of this paper is to analyze FMS Throughout-Rate by development of Petri Nets So, it applied to FMS composed of 7 machines and 4 different job types. The result of this paper shows the advantage of using Petri Nets.
