In geo-spatial information system building and operation, metadata is one of the crucial factors. Therefore, international and domestic organizations or associations for standardization have developed and distributed geo-based standard metadata to meet public demands. However, because metadata is composed of complicated elements and needs XML storage and management, individual organization which implement and operate practical application system is inclined to define and use its own metadata specifications. In this study, metadata extraction program, that metadata elements are directly extracted from geo-based file formats was developed to easily utilize standard metadata such as ISO/TC 19115, TTAS.KO-10.0139 and TTAS.IS-19115, and those elements are processed into XML. Furthermore, geo-based images sets are applied to another metadata of ISO/TC 19115-2. As well, metadata transformation is needed due to inconsistent or non-corresponding definition among standard metadata; in this program, transformation modules are also implemented to interoperable uses between standard metadata specifications. Widely used data formats are dealt with in this program, but extension for other formats and other metadata specifications is possible, and it is expected that availability of standard metadata is increased, through this kind of development.
The purpose of this study is to present the possibility a utilization of the tertiary mudstone in Pohang as road subsoil material through pilot experiments on the road embankment structure. This mudstone is an unconsolidated rock that is distributed in the soft rock sedimentary layer, the tertiary layer of the Cenozoic, and causes physical problems such as slaking, swelling, and reduced shear strength and chemical problem like acid drainage. In order to solve various complex problems, an laboratory mixing test was conducted, and the optimal mixing conditions of the tertiary mudstone (90%), composite slag (steel making 70%, blast furnace 30%), and neutralization and coating agent treatment were derived. In order to prove its utilization, a real-scale road embankment structure was constructed and tests were conducted for each section. The pre-processing section is stable due to the design of optimal mixing conditions, while in post-processing section, natural weathering proceeded rapidly, and structural problems were concerned. Since the effect of neutralizing and coating agents was confirmed in temporary-staking section, the neutralizing and coating agents can be applied during the temporary storage period.
The importance of high capacity energy storage devices has recently emerged for stable power supply through renewable energy generation. From this point of view, the Na-air battery (NAB), which is a next-generation secondary battery, is receiving huge attention because it can realize a high capacity through abundant and inexpensive raw materials. In this study, activated carbon-based catalysts for hybrid type Na-air batteries were prepared and their characteristics were compared and analysed. In particular, from the viewpoint of resource recycling, activated carbon (Orange-C) was prepared using discarded orange peel, and performance was compared with Vulcan carbon, which is widely used. In addition, a Pt/C catalyst (homemade-Pt/C, HM-Pt/C) was synthesized using a modified polyol method to check whether the prepared activated carbon can be used as a supported catalyst, and a commercial Pt/C catalyst (Commercial Pt/C) and electrochemical performance were compared. The prepared Orange-C exhibited a typical H3 type BET isotherm, which is evidence that micropore and mesopore exist. In addition, in the case of HM-Pt/C, it was confirmed through TEM analysis that Pt particles were evenly distributed on the activated carbon supported catalyst. In particular, the HM-Pt/C-based NAB showed the smallest voltage gap (0.224V) and good voltage efficiency (92.34%) in the 1st galvanostatic charge-discharge test. In addition, the cycle performance test conducted for 20 cycles showed the most stable performance.

Power distribution management system is essential for the efficient management and operation of power distribution networks. The power distribution system is a system that manages the distribution network based on IT, and has been evolving along with the development of the power industry. The current power distribution system is designed to operate at a relatively low network transmission speed based on the independent operation of the main equipment. However, due to distributed resources such as photovoltaic or energy storage devices, which are rapidly increasing in popularity in recent years, the operation of future distribution environments is becoming more complex, and various information needs to be collected in real time. In this study, the requirements of the next-generation power distribution system were derived to overcome the limitations of the existing power distribution system, and based on this, the communication network system and performance requirements for the distribution system were defined. In order to verify the performance of the designed system, a software-based terminal device simulator was developed because it takes excessive time and cost to introduce a large-scale system such as a power distribution system. Using the simulator, a test environment similar to the actual operation was established, and the number of terminal devices was increased up to 1,000. The proposed system was shown to satisfy the requirements to support the functions of the next-generation power distribution system, recording less than 10 % of the communication network bandwidth.

Samgak-Kimbap is a popular ready-to-eat (RTE) food at convenience stores, in Korea. Although Samgak-Kimbap is distributed through the cold chain supply system, inappropriate temperature storage conditions prior to consumption are a cause of concern. The objective of this study was to evaluate the risk of Staphylococcus aureus growth in Samgak-Kimbap in the retail market. The prevalence and contamination levels of S. aureus in Samgak-Kimbap (n=170) were monitored, and the predictive growth model of a five-strain cocktail of enterotoxin-producing S. aureus (SEA, SEB, SEC, SED, and SEE) was developed in Samgak-Kimbap as a function of temperature (4, 10, 11, 20, 25, and 37℃). We could not observe the growth of S. aureus and enterotoxin-producing S. aureus in Samgak-Kimbap at temperatures below 10℃. The probability of illness with S. aureus per serving of Samgak-Kimbap was 1.44×10-10 per day. The most influential factor in increasing the risk of foodborne illnesses was the contamination level of S. aureus in Samgak-Kimbap.
The reservoir is a major water supply source in the domestic agricultural environment, and the monitoring of water storage of reservoirs is important for the utilization and management of agricultural water resource. Remote sensing via satellite imagery can be an effective method for regular monitoring of widely distributed objects such as reservoirs, and in this study, image classification and image segmentation algorithms are applied to Sentinel-1 Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) imagery for water body detection in 53 reservoirs in South Korea. Six algorithms are used: Neural Network (NN), Support Vector Machine (SVM), Random Forest (RF), Otsu, Watershed (WS), and Chan-Vese (CV), and the results of water body detection are evaluated with in-situ images taken by drones. The correlations between the in-situ water surface area and detected water surface area from each algorithm are NN 0.9941, SVM 0.9942, RF 0.9940, Otsu 0.9922, WS 0.9709, and CV 0.9736, and the larger the scale of reservoir, the higher the linear correlation was. WS showed low recall due to the undetected water bodies, and NN, SVM, and RF showed low precision due to over-detection. For water body detection through SAR imagery, we found that aquatic plants and artificial structures can be the error factors causing undetection of water body.

Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) created on the basis of blockchain have their own unique value, so they cannot be forged or exchanged with other tokens or coins. Using these characteristics, NFTs can be issued to digital assets such as images, videos, artworks, game characters, and items to claim ownership of digital assets among many users and objects in cyberspace, as well as proving the original. However, interest in NFTs exploded from the beginning of 2020, causing a lot of load on the blockchain network, and as a result, users are experiencing problems such as delays in computational processing or very large fees in the mining process. Additionally, all actions of users are stored in the blockchain, and digital assets are stored in a blockchain-based distributed file storage system, which may unnecessarily expose the personal information of users who do not want to identify themselves on the Internet. In this paper, we propose an NFT platform using cloud computing, access gate, conversion table, and cloud ID to improve usability and privacy problems that occur in existing system. For performance comparison between local and cloud systems, we measured the gas used for smart contract deployment and NFT-issued transaction. As a result, even though the cloud system used the same experimental environment and parameters, it saved about 3.75% of gas for smart contract deployment and about 4.6% for NFT-generated transaction, confirming that the cloud system can handle computations more efficiently than the local system.

If the blockchain means storing information in a distributed environment that cannot be forged or altered, it is mentioned that this is similar to what librarians collect, preserve, and share authoritative information. In this way, this study examined blockchain technology as a way to collect and provide reliable information, increase work efficiency inside and outside the library, and strengthen cooperative networks. This study attempted to propose various ways to utilize blockchain technology in book relations based on literature surveys and case studies in other fields. To this end, this study first analyzed the field and cases of blockchain application to confirm the possibility and value of blockchain application in the library field, and proposed 12 ways to utilize it based on this. The utilization model was proposed by dividing it into operation and service sectors. In the operation sector, it is a digital identity-based user record storage and authentication function, transparent management and traceable monitoring function, voting-based personnel and recruitment system, blockchain governance-based network efficiency function, and blockchain-based next-generation device management and information integration function. The service sector includes improved book purchase and sharing efficiency due to simplification of intermediaries, digital content copyright protection and management functions, customized service provision based on customer behavior analysis, blockchain-based online learning platforms, sharing platforms, and P2P-based reliable information sharing platforms.
Rancidity changes were examined for 6 herbal medicines, namely Persicae Semen, Armeniacae Semen, Lini Semen, Trichosanthis Semen, Arecae Semen, Myristicae Semen known to have relatively high fat content. In order to reduce rancidity of herbal medicines, samples were stored at 3 different conditions of room, refrigerating and freezing temperatures, and the rancidity was measured for 10 months with every 2 month interval. Fat content was extracted by using ethyl ether, and acid values and peroxide values, which are generally accepted indicators of fat rancidity, were measured. When storing Persicae Semen, Lini Semen and Arecae Semen at room temperature, the acid values increased as the storage period increased, and it was higher than when stored in refrigeration or freezing. The measurement of peroxide value showed more significantly higher initial degree of rancidity when Persicae Semen, Trichosanthis Semen, Arecae Semen and Myristicae Semen were stored at room temperature. It was observed that storing herbal medicines in refrigeration or freezing inhibited their rancidity compared to storing them at room temperature. To investigate the quality changes according to rancidity, the analysis of aflatoxins and indicator components showed that aflatoxins B1 and B2 were detected in Armeniacae Semen, Arecae Semen and Myristicae Semen, and the amount of amygdalin was well maintained within the specification standard.
