  • Recently, many countries around the world including Korea (Rep. of) have actively introduced online voting using distributed ledger technology (e.g. blockchain). However, online voting using distributed ledger technology based on the widely deployed telecommunication/ICT infrastructure. There is insufficient analysis of potential security threats. In this paper, we suggest a model for online voting system using distributed ledger technology and propose countermeasures by analyzing the security threats that may occur in online voting process in terms of information security.

  • In distributed mobile robot systems, autonomous robots accomplish complicated tasks through intelligent cooperation with each other. This paper presents behavior learning and online distributed evolution for cooperative behavior of a group of autonomous robots. Learning and evolution capabilities are essential for a group of autonomous robots to adapt to unstructured environments. Behavior learning finds an optimal state-action mapping of a robot for a given operating condition. In behavior learning, a Q-learning algorithm is modified to handle delayed rewards in the distributed robot systems. A group of robots implements cooperative behaviors through communication with other robots. Individual robots improve the state-action mapping through online evolution with the crossover operator based on the Q-values and their update frequencies. A cooperative material search problem demonstrated the effectiveness of the proposed behavior learning and online distributed evolution method for implementing cooperative behavior of a group of autonomous mobile robots.

  • Generally, the internet online game systems are divided into two parts, clients and servers. The clients provide a connection with game server to each user and communicate between them. And, the server controls all clients by the game rules fairly and manages database systems to maintain the user information. In this paper, we propose a configuration method for internet online game servers using distributed scheme. To apply this method, we divide game server into three sub-level parts again. First part of game server is login server to establish the connection between communication server and clients. Second part is communication server to connect between clients and main game server during playing the game. And last part is DBMS that performs database independently. Our proposed scheme suggests that the game server operates very stable because of decreasing of processing load by distributed scheme. So, our proposed server configuration applies to similar online game easily.

  • Recently, The online role playing games (RPG) get into spotlight of worldwide game marketing area because of the rapid growth of high speed Internet environment during a decade. The almost online RPGs are made of campaign scenario that constructed in series. In this paper, we propose the Distributed Server Model for the Evolutionary Online RPGs which have series scenario (Campaign). In order to represents evolutionary online RPGs, We configure the online RPG server uniquely by means of one to one mapping between logical and physical game world. We also configure the game worlds using circular queue form to express the evolution of civilization by reconstruction of game world.

  • In practical distributed sensing and prediction applications over wireless sensor networks (WSN), environmental sensing activities are highly dynamic because of noisy sensory information from moving source signals. The recent distributed online convex optimization frameworks have been developed as promising approaches for solving approximately stochastic learning problems over network of sensors in a distributed manner. Negligence of mobility consequence in the original distributed saddle point algorithm (DSPA) could strongly affect the convergence rate and stability of learning results. In this paper, we propose an integrated sliding windows mechanism in order to stabilize predictions and achieve better convergence rates in cooperative detection of a moving source signal scenario.

  • An important application domain for online services is an interactive, multi-player game. In recent, many increase of users that use on-line services through networks have caused a heavy load to the server. In this paper, we propose a MMORPG(Massively Multi-player Online Role Playing Game) distributed game server using flayer-Cell. Our method provides efficient solution of a MMORPG distributed game server for large numbers of users. It is shown through the experiments that our method outperforms existing methods in terms of memory utilization rate and processing speed.

  • In this paper, I tried to propose efficient online game server architecture that decrease server overload. I used replicated distributed sever type together with non-replicated distributed sever type. Replicated distributed sever type has the advantage to maintain efficient distribution of server overload and non-replicated distributed sever type has the advantage to move a game server to a different game server freely in one server group. I used these advantages suitably in this proposal, and I will show the efficiency of online game server architecture.

  • Digitalization of not only non-safety but also safety-grade I &C systems with full computerized Main Control Room (MCR) is the recent trend of I&C systems of nuclear power plants (NPP) around the world, while plant maintenance has been shifting from traditional time based maintenance to condition based maintenance. In order to cope with the new trend of operation and maintenance in NPP, a concept of online distributed diagnostic system for both plant operation and maintenance has been proposed in order to further improve both the plant efficiency and the work environment of plant operation staff members by organizational learning. In this respect, the research subjects of human machine interface (HMI) for the online distributed diagnostic system are also discussed for supporting the plant personnel at both MCR and local working places in the plant by the application of advanced ICT (Information and Communication Technologies).

  • In a wireless sensor network (WSN) setting, this paper presents a distributed decision-making framework and illustrates its application in an online structural health monitoring (SHM) system. The objective is to recover a damage severity vector, which identifies, localizes, and quantifies damages in a structure, via distributive and collaborative decision-making among wireless sensors. Observing the fact that damages are generally scarce in a structure, this paper develops a nonlinear 0-norm minimization formulation to recover the sparse damage severity vector, then relaxes it to a linear and distributively tractable one. An optimal algorithm based on the alternating direction method of multipliers (ADMM) and a heuristic distributed linear programming (DLP) algorithm are proposed to estimate the damage severity vector distributively. By limiting sensors to exchange information among neighboring sensors, the distributed decision-making algorithms reduce communication costs, thus alleviate the channel interference and prolong the network lifetime. Simulation results in monitoring a steel frame structure prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithms.

  • Existing online voting is not being used for public elections due to uncertainty about security threats, and offline voting costs a lot of money. As an alternative, blockchain is emerging. Applying blockchain technology to online voting will ensure transparency and confidentiality, because voter information and aggregate information are distributed and managed. Since a blockchain distributes the voting information, it will be more secure than existing central server - based online voting systems. If blockchain technology is applied to public elections, and the transparency and confidentiality of the voting information is guaranteed, the cost of voting will be greatly reduced. This paper tries to apply to an online voting system the Ethereum platform from among the blockchain technologies. Ethereum is a highly scalable blockchain technology that provides a smart contract based on the Solidity language to develop an online voting contract and to distribute the contract to each voter. Each voter votes on the contract that has been distributed, and the votes are distributed to other voters. The experiment verifies the consistency of the stored voting information.
