The applications of the electrical transmission line theory to the pressure propagation characteristics in the volume loaded fluid transmission line with step and impulse input wave is demonstrated in this paper. The method is based on the premise that the time response is the inverse Fourier transform of frequency spectrum of the wave which spectrum is a product of frequency spectrum of input pressure wave and system transfer function. The frequency response and transient response of step and impulse input wave in the volume loaded fluid transmission line is analysed by the Laplace transform and inverse Laplace transform with FFT numerical algorithm. The numerical solution of the distributed friction model is compared with the average friction model and the infinite product model. And the result is showed that FFT method may have major advantages for the simulation of fluid circuitary.

In this paper, the characteristics of the household AC power line network is analyzed for the low bit rate powerline communication (PLC) in the frequency range from 10㎑ to 450㎑ The PLC channel transfer characteristics including its characteristic impedance are derived based on the network topology which is constructed with the household power lines loaded with the various types of electric apparatus. Both the distributed circuit analysis and the lumped circuit model based analysis are applied for the characterization of the PLC channel and the results are compared by the computer simulations. The analysis illustrates very well the adverse effects caused by the loading of electric apparatus and as well those casued by the reflection of wavers in the household AC Power line communication network.

This study numerically analyzed the dynamic characteristics of the frequency response on the pneumatic transmission line with load impedances. The pressure transfer function is represented by the distributed parameter line model. To validate the mathematical approximations of Bessel function ratios, the results of frequency response in a blocked line were compared with those obtained by the Infinite-product, Brown's and Square-root approximations. Special emphasis was given to the frequency response characteristics on the pneumatic transmission line with load impedances. Computations were carried out for the wide range of parameters in terms of load capacitance ratio and load resistance ratio. The present results indicated that the theoretical model is capable of accurately predicting the frequency response characteristics for any configuration of a fluid transmission line.
This paper presents a new control strategy to improve voltage performance of distributed generation (DG) under nonlinear loads. The proposed voltage controller consists of a proportional-integral and a repetitive controller where the repetitive controller behaves as a bank of resonant controllers to compensate harmonic voltage drop on system impedance due to nonlinear load current. As a result, the voltage at the point of common coupling (PCC) of the DG is regulated to be sinusoidal waveform regardless of the presence of nonlinear loads. In order to validate the effectiveness of the proposed voltage controller, simulations are carried out using PSIM software and results are compared with those with the conventional PI controller.
This paper proposes the discrimination method for the fault location, whether it is within the line where the distributed generation(DG) is integrated or out of the line (but sharing the same bus of the substation). In general, DG has to be disconnected from the grid when the fault occurs on the interconnected distribution feeder as soon as possible. However, the faults occured on the neighboring feeder would mistakenly cause the disconnection of the DG. For reliable operation of DG, DG should be sustained at the fault occurred on neighboring distribution feeders. The proposed identification method utilizes the impedance monitored from the DG and examines the coordination of overcurrent relay of the distribution system. This paper describes how the proposed method to identify the faulted feeder and how the method can be utilized.

This paper proposes novel protection schemes for grid-connected distributed generation (DG) units using the fault location algorithm. The grid-connected DG would be influenced by abnormal distribution line conditions. Identification of the fault location for the distribution lines at the relaying point of DG helps solve the problems of the protection relays for DG. The proposed scheme first identifies fault locations using currents and voltages measured at DG and source impedance of distribution networks. Then the actual faulted feeder is identified, applying time-current characteristic curves (TCC) of overcurrent relay (OCR). The method considering the fault location and TCC of OCR might improve the performance of the conventional relays for DG. Test results show that the method prevents the superfluous operations of protection devices by discriminating the faulted feeder, whether it is a distribution line where DG is integrated or out of the line emanated from the substation to which the DGs are connected.

This work presents the design, fabrication and microwave performance of distributed analog phase shifter (DAPS) fabricated on $(Ba,\;Sr)TiO_3$ (BST) thin films for X-band applications. Ferroelectric BST thin films were deposited on MgO substrates by pulsed laser deposition. The DAPS consists of high impedance coplanar waveguide (CPW) and periodically loaded tunable BST interdigitated capacitors (IDC). In order to reduce the insertion loss of DAPS and to remove the alteration of unloaded CPW properties according to an applied dc bias voltage, BST layer under transmission lines were removed by photolithography and RF-ion milling. The measured results are in good agreement with the simulated results at the frequencies of interest. The measured differential phase shift based on BST thin films was $24^{\circ}$ and the insertion loss decreased from 1.1 dB to 0.7 dB with increasing the bias voltage from 0 to 40V at 10 GHz.

This study presents a 2-20 GHz monolithic distributed power amplifier (DPA) using a $0.25{\mu}m$ AlGaN/GaN on SiC high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) technology. The gate width of the HEMT was selected after considering the input capacitance of the unit cell that guarantees decade bandwidth. To achieve high output power using small transistors, a 12-stage DPA was designed with a non-uniform drain line impedance to provide optimal output power matching. The maximum operating frequency of the proposed DPA is above 20 GHz, which is higher than those of other DPAs manufactured with the same gate-length process. The measured output power and power-added efficiency of the DPA monolithic microwave integrated circuit (MMIC) are 35.3-38.6 dBm and 11.4%-31%, respectively, for 2-20 GHz.

Sun power generation systems which use large capacity centralized inverters have loss of power generation due to cloud and building shadows, pollution, cell deterioration, etc. To minimize loss of power generation, decentralized solar power systems using multiple micro-inverters are being proposed as an alternative. A distributed solar power system consisting of a system-connected system uses power line communication to collect data from the micro-inverters. Power line communication has the advantage of using power lines without separate lines for data transmission, but in distributed solar power generation systems that use a large number of micro-inverters, the bit error rate is less reliable due to the phenomenon caused by limited transmission power, high load interference and noise, variable signal attenuation, and impedance characteristics. So we proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter that is used to build distributed solar power systems. and we design and implement that. Further, the proposed wireless intelligent controller for micro-inverter was used to establish a small-volume solar power plant to check its function and operation.
The small-scaled onsite generators such as photovoltaic power, wind power, biomass and fuel cell belong to decarbonization techniques. In general, these generators tend to be connected to utility systems, and they are called distributed generations (DGs) compared with conventional centralized power plants. However, DGs may impact on stabilization of utility systems, which gets utility into trouble. In order to reduce utility's burdens (e.g., investment for facilities reinforcement) and accelerate DG introduction, the advanced operation algorithms under the existing utility systems are urgently needed. This paper presents the advanced voltage regulation method in power systems since the sending voltage of voltage regulators has been played a decisive role restricting maximum installable DG capacity (MaxC_DG). For the proposed voltage regulation method, the difference from existing voltage regulation method is explained and the detailed concept is introduced in this paper. MaxC_DG estimation through case studies based on Korean model network verifies the superiority of the proposed method.
