In this paper, modeling of the communication channel occupancy characteristics at the base station in the wide area radio trunking syste has been performed. Using the results, mathematical analysis for the switching capacity at the network switch has also been done. Specificatlly, we propose a G/M/m queueing model for the single service area modeling, and analyze changes in call blockingprobabilities accoridng to changes in the burstness characteristics of group paging calls. As a result, we have observe dthat the channel occupancy variations become larger as the burstness characteristics become more apparent, to make the call blocking probability higher. Next, based on the single service area analysis, we have anayzed mathematically the average switching capacity required to serve mobile subscribers for a wide area radio trunking sytem, where multiple switching port assignments are required when the people in the same group are distributed over several base stations. Accordingly, we have observed that the average and the variance of switching channel occupancy are closely related to the mobility characteristics of subscribers, and that we need a netowrk switch having bigger capacity as subscribers show wider distribution. Especially, with the call dropping probability within 0.2%, a switch having about 5 to 6 times bigger can be required, compared with the one when the mobility of subscribers is mostly restricte dto a single service area.

Current research for software architecture views and models a software system as a set of components and connectors. Components are abstractions of system level computational entities. Connectors are abstractions of components interrelationships. In this paper, we focus on connectors for the JavaBeans-based systems that are built using object integration technologies like CORBA. We present connector model in JavaBeans-based system for object-oriented component integration. We start with a discussion of related work of software architecture research and object-oriented modeling that focuses on the description of component collaborations. We propose connectors as transferable abstractions of system level component interconnection and inter-operation.

It is important to understand how we can deal with elements for the modeling of neural networks when we are investigating the dynamical performance and the information processing capabilities. The information processing capabilities of model neural networks will change for different response, synaptic weights or learning rules. Using the statistical neurodynamics method, we evaluate the capabilities of neural networks in order to understand the basic concept of parallel distributed processing. In this paper, we explain the results of theoretical analysis of the effects of the hysteretic property on the performance of sequential associative neural networks.
The system implemented in this paper partitions and stores specimen data captured by a light microscope on distributed or parallel systems. Users ran observe images on computers as we use a physical microscope. Based on the client-server computing model, the system consists of client, coordinator, and data manager. Three components communicate messages. For retrieving images, we implemented the client program with necessary functions for educational applications such at image mark and text annotation, and defined the communication protocol. We performed the experiment for introducing a tape storage which stores a large volume of data. The experiment results showed performance improvement by data partitioning and indexing technique.

Future Ground Control Stations (GCSs) for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) teleoperation targets better situational awareness by providing extra motion cues to stimulate the vestibular system. This paper proposes a new virtual environment for long range Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) control via Non-Line-of-Sight (NLoS) communications, which is based on motion platforms. It generates motion cues for the teleoperator for extra sensory stimulation to enhance the guidance performance. The proposed environment employs the distributed component simulation over GSM network as a simulation platform. GSM communications are utilized as a multi-hop communication network, which is similar to global satellite communications. It considers a UAV mathematical model and wind turbulence effects to simulate a realistic UAV dynamics. Moreover, the proposed virtual environment simulates a Multiple Axis Rotating Device (MARD) as Human Machine Interface (HMI) device to provide a complete delay analysis. The demonstrated measurements cover Graphical User Interface (GUI) capabilities, NLoS GSM communications delay, MARD performance, and different software workload. The proposed virtual environment succeeded to provide visual and vestibular feedbacks for teleoperators via GSM networks. The overall system performance is acceptable relative to other Line-of-Sight (LoS) systems, which promises a good potential for future long range, medium altitude UAV teleoperation researches.

A number of combat simulation models are scattered and the analytic solution approaches have experienced very difficult computational efforts. Today´s computer communication technology let people to do many unrealistic things possible and the use of those technologies is becoming increasingly prevalent throughout the military operation. Both DIS and ADS are welled defined computer aided military simulations. This study discusses a simulation of stochastic combat network modeling through Internet space. We have developed two separate simulation models, one for clients and another for server, and validated for conducting studies with these models. The object-oriented design was necessary to define the system entities and their relationship, to partition functionality into system entities, and to transform functional metrics into realizations derived from system component behaviors. Heterogeneous forces for each side are assumed at any battle node. The time trajectories for mean number of survivors and combat history at each node, some important combat measures, and relative difference computations between models were made. We observe and may conclude that the differences exit and some of these are significant based on a limited number of experiments.

Information Centric Networking that uses content name instead of IP address as routing identifier can handle challenges such as traffic explosion and user mobility, but it also suffers from scalability and incompatibility problems. In this paper by combining the concept of software defined networking and Internet end to end arguments, we propose a wide area deployable software defined information centric networking service model named SD-ICN. SD-ICN employs a dual space structure that separates edge service network and core transmission network. The enhanced SDN techniques are used in edge service network in order to implement intelligent data routing and caching, while traditional IP technique is reserved in core transmission network so as to provide wide area high speed data transmission. Besides, a distributed name resolution system based on the cooperation of different controllers is also presented. The prototype experiments in our campus network show that SD-ICN can be deployed in a scalable and incremental way with no modification of the core network, and can support typical communication modes such as multicast, mobility, multihoming, load balancing, and multipath data transmission effectively.

A group signature scheme allows any member to sign on behalf of a group. It is applied to practical distributed security communication environments, such as privacy-preserving, data mining. In particular, the excellent features of group signatures, including membership joining and revocation, anonymity, traceability, non-frameability and controllable linkability, make group signature scheme more attractive. Among these features, non-frameability can guarantee that a member's signature cannot be forged by any other (including issuer), and controllable linkability supports to confirm whether or not two group signatures are created by the same signer while preserving anonymity. Until now, only Hwang et al.'s group schemes (proposed in 2013 and 2015) can support all of these features. In this paper, we present a new dynamic group signature scheme which can achieve all of the above excellent features. Compared with their schemes, our scheme has the following advantages. Firstly, our scheme achieves more efficient membership revocation, signing and verifying. The cost of update key in our scheme is two-thirds of them. Secondly, the tracing algorithm is simpler, since the signer can be determined without the judging step. Furthermore, in our scheme, the size of group public key and member's private key are shorter. Lastly, we also prove security features of our scheme, such as anonymity, traceability, non-frameability, under a random oracle model.

In vehicular communications environment, content pre-caching can reduce the delay time from the user to the content server. However, the problem of where and how much pre-caching is still not solved. In this paper, based on the movement probability of the vehicle, we propose a method for pre-caching by distributing the optimized amount of content to each base station candidate that the vehicle will move as follows. First, the movement probability of each vehicle was learned using Markov Model. And the amount of content to be distributed and pre-cached was optimized based on the wireless environment. In experiments based on NS-3, the proposed strategy maintained the least delay compared to the existing protocol, leading to the most traffic-saving results.

Traffic congestion has become a serious problem with the recent exponential increase in the number of vehicles. In urban areas, almost all traffic congestion occurs at intersections. One of the ways to solve this problem is road expansion, but it is difficult to realize in urban areas because of the high cost and long construction period. In such cases, traffic signal control is a reasonable method for reducing traffic jams. In an actual situation, the traffic flow changes randomly and its randomness makes the control of traffic signals difficult. A prediction of traffic jams is, therefore, necessary and effective for reducing traffic jams. In addition, an autonomous distributed (stand-alone) point control of each traffic light individually is better than the wide and/or line control of traffic lights from the perspective of real-time control. This paper describes a stochastic optimum control of crossroads and multi-way traffic signals. First, a stochastic model of traffic flows and traffic jams is constructed by using a Bayesian network. Secondly, the probabilistic distributions of the traffic flows are estimated by using a cellular automaton, and then the probabilistic distributions of traffic jams are predicted. Thirdly, optimum traffic signals of crossroads and multi-way intersection are searched by using a modified particle swarm optimization algorithm to realize real-time traffic control. Finally, simulations are carried out to confirm the effectiveness of the real-time stochastic optimum control of traffic signals.
