A product is designed through the collaboration among engineers in several fields such as design, analysis, and manufacturing. These series of functions are performed repeatedly during the design process. An easy access and exchange of the model data is one of the important elements that help to shorten production development time. Especially, the importance of data exchange between CAD and CAE applications is increasing in the field of verification and estimation of the products. However, information and knowledge of model which is generated by a CAD software cannot be transferred by a function of CAE software, as an exchange of product data between CAD and CAE applications. It causes a delay in design analysis and eventually discourages a designer's effort in improving his design. Therefore, we need to integrate a commercial CAD and CAE applications effectively and to use the same interface on a product model obtained in a distributed environment. This paper shows how to implement a model exchange between CAD and CAE by a web-service and how to provide a communication environment among engineers.

Recently the emerging demands of the light-video encoder promotes lots of research efforts on DVC (Distributed Video Coding). As an appropriate video compression method, DVC has been studied, and Wyner-Ziv (WZ) video compression is its one representative structure. The WZ encoder splits the image into two kinds of frames, one is key frame which is compressed by conventional intra coding, and the other is WZ frame which is encoded by WZ coding. The WZ decoder decodes the key frame first, and estimates the WZ frame using temporal correlation between key frames. Estimated WZ frame (Side Information) cannot be the same as the original WZ frame due to the absence of the WZ frame information at decoder. As a result, the difference between the estimated and original WZ frames are regarded as virtual channel noise. The WZ frame is reconstructed by removing noise in side information. Therefore precise noise estimation produces good performance gain in WZ video compression by improving error correcting capability by channel code. But noise cannot be estimated precisely at WZ decoder unless there is good WZ frame information, and generally it is estimated from the difference of corresponding key frames. Also the estimated noise is limited by comparing with frame level noise to reduce the uncertainty of the estimation method. However these methods cannot provide good noise estimation for every frame or each bit plane. In this paper, we propose a noise nodel selection method which chooses a better noise model for each bit plane after generating candidate noise models. Experimental result shows PSNR gain up to 0.8 dB.

Recently, new distributed power sources such as photovoltaic, wind power, fuel cell systems etc. are energetically interconnected and operated in the distribution feeders, as one of the national projects for alternative energy. When new power sources are considered to be interconnected to distribution systems, bi-directional power flow and interconnection conditions of new power sources may cause several power quality problems like voltage sag, voltage swell, harmonics, since new power sources can change typical characteristics of distribution systems. Under these situations, this paper deals with the analysis the power quality problems at primary and secondary feeders in distribution systems, when new power sources like photovoltaic (PV) systems are interconnected, by using the test devices for PV systems based on the LabVIEW S/W. This paper presents the test device which is consisted with model distribution system and model PV systems. By performing the simulation for power quality operation characteristic based on the test facilities, this paper presents the optimal countermeasures for power quality.
In this paper we study the modeling to quantitatively assess the failure rate of USN system designed for fault-tolerant architecture, aiming at applying the world's best domestic USN technology to safety-critical railways. In order to apply the USN system to the safety-critical field like a train control sector that the failures of controllers may cause severe railway accidents such as train collision and derailment, the quantitative reliability and safety evaluation recommended in IEC 62278 must be preceded. We also develop the evaluation model for overall system failure rate for the distributed network structure, which is the characteristics of USN system. Especially, we allocate reliability targets to component units, and present an availability evaluation plan through the plan on the quantitative achievement of failure rate for sensor nodes, gateways, radio-communication network and servers, along with the failure rate model of the overall system considering network operational features.

For the surge currents like lightning or ground fault currents containing high frequency components which cause the electromagnetic interferences for the electronic devices and communication equipment, the grounding impedances give the significantly composite characteristics which are dependent on the frequency of surge currents. In this paper, the analytical model and method for determining the optimal length of the newly developed coaxial type carbon ground electrode which has a little fluctuation in grounding impedance with frequency. The length of minimizing the fluctuation of grounding impedance by changing frequency from 100[Hz] to 1[MHz] was determined, and the validity of this proposed method was confirmed by comparing with the simulated and measured data.

It is very complex to construct Intrusion Detection System in distributed network environment than simple ones. Especially, In the collecting and analysis of logdata from out different operating system break out much problem. So In this paper, We present a Intrusion Detection System model applying agent teaming system to solve these problem. We apply the data Mining algorithm for agent learning.

Computer-Communication System may be classified into two kinds of systems considering connection capability among terminal and computing facility : time sharing and distributed computer systems According to the different input characteristic, the buffer behavior of two systems is quite different. Here we restrict our study to the analysis of queueing behavior of a demultiplexing buffer of time sharing systems. The analysis shows that M/G/1 queueing model can be used model such behavior.

This paper describes the methodology of connecting MASTER (Multi-purpose Analyzer for Static and Transient Effects of Reactors) to simulator system, system configuration, and previous test. The actual simulator environment for Youngkwang Unit1 has been developed. It is impossible for the simulator server to execute MASTER code by limitation of computer performance. So, environment of distributed system was developed, and it had a synchronization task. As MASTER and simulator module should be synchronized in different device, the connection of communication was tested and verified.
This paper presents an analytical framework for dynamic spectrum allocation in cognitive radio networks. We propose a distributed queuing based Markovian model each for single channel and multiple channels access for a contending user. Knowledge about spectrum mobility is one of the most challenging problems in both these setups. To solve this, we consider probabilistic channel availability in case of licensed channel detection for single channel allocation, while variable data rates are considered using channel aggregation technique in the multiple channel access model. These models are designed for a centralized architecture to enable dynamic spectrum allocation and are compared on the basis of access latency and service duration.
We propose an analytic model to compute the station's saturated throughput and packet delay performance of the IEEE 802.11 DCF (Distributed Coordination Function) in which frame transmission error rates in the channel are different from each other. Our analytic model shows that a station experiencing worse frame error rates than the others suffers severe performance degradation below its deserved throughput and delay performance. 802.11 DCF adopts an exponential back-off scheme. When some stations suffer from high frame error rates, their back-off stages should be increased so that others get the benefit from the smaller collision probabilities. This impact is then recursively applied to degrade the performance of the victim stations. In particular, we show that the performance is considerably degraded even if the frame error rate of the victim station satisfies the receiver input level sensitivity that has been specified in the IEEE 802.11 standard. We also verify the analytic results by the OPNET simulations.
