웹 캠을 이용한 스테레오 영상의 3차원 거리 측정 (3D Distance Measurement of Stereo Images Using Web Cams)

  • In this paper, we propose a three dimensional distance measurement method for a stereo system by using web cams. Using a parallel stereo system, a robot gets two images from each webcam and equalize brightness of both images. And we suggest an image processing method such as labeling, isolating an object from background and finding center of an object. We also propose a method of calculating the focal distance by using least square algorithm based on triangulation and we can reduce calculation error by this method. From experimental results, we show that the proposed method can be effective for 3D distance measurement.

스테레오 비젼 시스템에서의 이동객체 추출 및 거리 측정 (Moving Object Extraction and Distance Measurement in Stereo Vision System)

  • 본 논문은 스테레오 비젼 시스템을 이용하여 이동 객체를 추출하고 그 객체까지의 거리를 측정하는 방법을 제안하였다. 이동 객체에 대한 이동 성분은 화소 단위의 정합을 통하여 추출하였으며, 적응형 임계값은 영상의 밝기 변화를 제거하는데 효과적으로 대처할 수 있었다. 이동 객체까지의 거리는 평행식 카메라를 적용한 스테레오 비전 시스템을 사용하여 측정하였다. 실험 결과 이동 객체에 대한 거리측정 오차가 평균 1%로 나타남으로써 제안한 알고리즘을 이용한 이동 객체의 거리측정 가능성을 제시하였다.

  • 세계적으로 스마트 디바이스 보급률이 증가하면서 운동 체크 등과 관련된 서비스들이 주목받고 있다. 그러나 기존 운동량 측정 서비스의 경우 고도 정보를 사용하지 않거나, GPS 고도 오차를 보정하지 않은 알고리즘을 사용하기 때문에 제공되는 운동거리 등이 정확하지 않다는 문제점이 있다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 기존의 문제점을 개선하기 위해 Kalman-filter를 기반으로 GPS와 기압고도계 센서 융합 알고리즘을 통해 고도 값 정확도 향상 및 좌표평면 사이거리 계산을 통해 Kalman-filter 기반 사용자 운동거리 측정 알고리즘을 설계 및 구현하였다. 설계한 알고리즘을 기존 알고리즘들과 비교한 결과, 기존 알고리즘에 비해 평균 약 2.17%의 정확도가 향상된 것을 확인하였다.

MRI Image Retrieval Using Wavelet with Mahalanobis Distance Measurement

  • In content based image retrieval (CBIR) system, the images are represented based upon its feature such as color, texture, shape, and spatial relationship etc. In this paper, we propose a MRI Image Retrieval using wavelet transform with mahalanobis distance measurement. Wavelet transformation can also be easily extended to 2-D (image) or 3-D (volume) data by successively applying 1-D transformation on different dimensions. The proposed algorithm has tested using wavelet transform and performance analysis have done with HH and $H^*$ elimination methods. The retrieval image is the relevance between a query image and any database image, the relevance similarity is ranked according to the closest similar measures computed by the mahalanobis distance measurement. An adaptive similarity synthesis approach based on a linear combination of individual feature level similarities are analyzed and presented in this paper. The feature weights are calculated by considering both the precision and recall rate of the top retrieved relevant images as predicted by our enhanced technique. Hence, to produce effective results the weights are dynamically updated for robust searching process. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is easily identifies target object and reduces the influence of background in the image and thus improves the performance of MRI image retrieval.

Vehicle Tests of a Longitudinal Control Law for Application to Stop-and-Go Cruise Control

  • This paper presents the implementation and vehicle tests of a vehicle longitudinal control scheme for Stop and Go cruise control. The control scheme consists of a vehicle-to-vehicle distance control algorithm and throttle/brake control algorithm for acceleration tracking. The desired acceleration of a vehicle for vehicle-to-vehicle distance control has been designed using Linear Quadratic optimal control theory. Performance of the control algorithm has been investigated via vehicle tests. A millimeter wave radar sensor has been used for distance measurement. A stepper motor and an electronic vacuum booster have been used for throttle/brake actuators, respectively. It has been shown that the proposed control algorithm can provide satisfactory performance.

Approach of Self-mixing Interferometry Based on Particle Swarm Optimization for Absolute Distance Estimation

  • To accurately extract absolute distance information from a self-mixing interferometry (SMI) signal, in this paper we propose an approach based on a particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm instead of frequency estimation for absolute distance. The algorithm is utilized to search for the global minimum of the fitness function that is established from the self-mixing signal to find out the actual distance. A resolution superior to $25{\mu}m$ in the range from 3 to 20 cm is obtained by experimental measurement, and the results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed approach in comparison with interpolated FFT. The influence of different external feedback strength parameters and different inertia weights in the algorithm is discussed as well.

  • Inspection and shape measurement of three-dimensional objects are widely needed in industries for quality monitoring and control. Recently the shape measurement using interferometric principle is found to be a successful methodology among other visual or optical technologies. Especially, the measuring method using wavelength scanning interferometer(WSI) has a great advantage in comparison with other conventional jnterferometric methods in that the absolute distance from the reference surface can be directly obtained from the amount of jnterferometric phase change. However, the measurement methods using WSI proposed by other researchers have low measurement resolution so far because they can't measure fractional phase change. To avoid this shortcoming we propose a new algorithm in this paper, which can obtain a small amount of even fractional phase change by sinusoidal function fitting. To evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed sinusoidal function fitting algorithm, a series of measuring experiments are conducted for discontinuously shaped specimens which have various height. The proposed algorithm shows much more enhanced measurement resolution than other existing conventional algorithms such as zero crossing algorithm and Fourier transform algorithm.

광패턴을 이용한 능동형 수위 및 거리 측정 기법 (Active Water-Level and Distance Measurement Algorithm using Light Beam Pattern)

  • 본 논문은 광패턴 조사를 통한 능동형 수위 및 거리 측정 기법을 제안한다. 기존 압력식, 부자식, 초음파식, 레이더식 등의 수위측정기법과 달리 최근에는 수위측정의 정확성과 모니터링 편리성을 강조한 영상기반 수위측정기법이 활용되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 참조용 광패턴을 교각이나 제방 등에 동적으로 조사(照射)하고, 카메라 장치로부터 조사된 광패턴 영상을 실시간 분석 처리하여 자동 수위측정 및 조사(照射) 대상물까지의 거리측정을 위한 새로운 방법을 제시한다. 기존 방법이 교각에 기(旣) 부착된 수위표나 마커 인식을 위해 수동적으로 영상데이터를 분석하는 것이었다면, 본 기법은 교각 설치 환경에 대응하여 능동적으로 참조 광패턴을 생성하여 사용함으로써, 난시야(難視野) 환경 및 잡음 대응에 효과적이고, 포터블 형태로 주야간 이용이 가능하며, 별도 조명 설치를 요구하지 않는 등의 강건한 수위 측정을 지원한다. 본 실험은 실내 시험 환경을 구성하여 시뮬레이션 하였으며, 0.4-1.4m 거리 13.5-32.5cm 높이에서 수위 및 거리 측정을 수행하였다.

거리측정의 오차비율 오프셋을 적용한 보정알고리즘 연구 (A Study on the Compensation Algorithm based on Error Rate Offset of Distance Measurement)

  • CSS(Chirp Spread Spectrum)기반에서 SDS-TWR(Symmetric Double Side-Two-Way Ranging)의 거리측정 정확도는 실험에 의하면 전파환경 간섭으로 인해 일부 레인징 구간에서 매우 큰 오차가 발생함을 확인하였다. 본 논문에서는 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 레인징 오차를 감소시킬 수 있는 측정거리의 오차비율 오프셋을 적용한 SDS-TWR의 보정 알고리즘($CA_d$)을 제안하였다. $CA_d$는 두 노드를 LOS(Line Of Sight)환경에서 1~25m까지 1m 간격으로 SDS-TWR으로 거리 값을 측정하여, 거리보정에 필요한 각 파라미터의 값을 계산한 후 이를 사용하여 거리값을 보정한다. 제안한 보정 알고리즘의 성능분석 결과, $CA_d$는 SDS-TWR에 비해 오차가 평균 95cm, 최대 오차가 526cm 감소하였고, 는 25m에서 약 60cm의 오차가 발생함을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과를 볼 때 제안한 $CA_d$는 LOS 환경에서 SDS-TWR에 비해 매우 정밀한 정확도를 가진 것으로 판단된다.

특이값 분해를 이용한 치수측정 기반 디지털 트윈 알고리즘 경량화 (Lightweight Algorithm for Digital Twin based on Diameter Measurement using Singular-Value-Decomposition)

  • In the machine vision inspection equipment, diameter measurement is important process in inspection of cylindrical object. However, machine vision inspection equipment requires complex algorithm processing such as camera distortion correction and perspective distortion correction, and the increase in processing time and cost required for precise diameter measurement. In this paper, we proposed the algorithm for diameter measurement of cylindrical object using the laser displacement sensor. In order to fit circle for given four input outer points, grid search algorithms using root-mean-square error and mean-absolute error are applied and compared. To solve the limitations of the grid search algorithm, we finally apply the singular-value-decomposition based circle fitting algorithm. In order to compare the performance of the algorithms, we generated the pseudo data of the outer points of the cylindrical object and applied each algorithm. As a result of the experiment, the grid search using root-mean-square error confirmed stable measurement results, but it was confirmed that real-time processing was difficult as the execution time was 10.8059 second. The execution time of mean-absolute error algorithm was greatly improved as 0.3639 second, but there was no weight according to the distance, so the result of algorithm is abnormal. On the other hand, the singular-value-decomposition method was not affected by the grid and could not only obtain precise detection results, but also confirmed a very good execution time of 0.6 millisecond.
