We propose one- and two-dimensional reference functions for processing of integral/multiview imaging. The functions provide the synthesis/analysis of the integral image by distance, as an alternative to the composition/decomposition by view images (directions). The synthesized image was observed experimentally. In analysis confirmed by simulation in a qualitative sense, the distance was obtained by convolution of the integral image with the reference functions.
This paper concerns optimum design of 2-Arch tunnel. A 2-Arch tunnel adopted in a subway tunnel construction site is considered in this study. A calibrated 3D finite element model was adopted to conduct a parametric study on the lagged distance between left and right tunnel faces. The results of analysis were examined to determine optimum lagged distance for minimizing the interaction between the left and right tunnels. The results indicated that the shotcrete lining stress and the center pillar load are more influenced by the second tunnel excavation than the tunnel deformation. Also shown is that a lagged distance of 20m is sufficient to minimize the interaction between two tunnels. Fundamental mechanism of 2-arch tunnel was also investigated based on the results.
This paper describes the analysis for ground impedance measurement influenced by distance of current probe and frequency using the fall-of-potential method and the testing techniques to minimize the measuring errors are proposed. The fall-of-potential method is theoretically based on the potential and current measuring principle and the measuring error is primarily caused by the position of auxiliary probes. In order to analyze the effects of ground impedance due to the distance of the current probe and frequency, ground impedances were measured in case that the distance of current probe was located from 5[m] to 20[m] and the measuring frequency was ranged in 55[Hz], 128[Hz], 342[Hz], and 513[Hz]. The results could be help to determine the position of current probe when the ground impedance was measured at grounding system.
Background: Shoulder horizontal adduction (HA) is performed in many activities of daily living. The limited range of motion (LROM) of HA is affected by the tightness of the posterior deltoid, infraspinatus, teres major, and posterior capsule of glenohumeral joint. The LROM of shoulder HA contributes to excessive scapular abduction. Objects: The aim of this study is to compare the scapular abduction distance and three-dimensional displacement of the scapula during shoulder horizontal adduction between subjects with and without the LROM of shoulder HA. Methods: 24 subjects (12 people in LROM group and 12 people in normal ROM group) participated. Subjects with less than $115^{\circ}$ of HA ROM were included in LROM group. Shoulder HA was performed 3 times for measuring scapular abduction distance and three-dimensional displacement of the scapula. Tape measure was used for measuring scapular abduction distance. Scapular abduction distance was normalized by dividing the scapular size. Polhemus Liberty was used for measuring the three-dimensional displacement of the scapula. Results: Normalized scapular abduction distance was significantly greater in LROM group than normal ROM group (p<.001). Three-dimensional displacement of the scapula during shoulder HA was greater in LROM group than normal ROM group (p<.05). Conclusion: LROM group had a greater scapular abduction and three-dimensional displacement of the scapula during shoulder HA compared to normal ROM group.
The purpose of this study is to analysis of disposition distance of city park for the plan of suitable arrangement of city park based on the date examining Daegu Metropolitan City. The regions where the population density is high have very low green space and live a lot of low income layer. 3) The result of analysis of disposition distance, in the case of children park, it appeared an intensive distribution in Dongcheon-Dong and Guam-Dong of Buk-Gu district, Whanggm-Dong and Dusan-Dong of Suseong-Gu district, Sangin-Dong and Yeongsan-Dong and Walsung-Dong of Dalseo-Gu district. however, it appeared in a low in Jung-Gu district. The case of urban park of the neighboring area, it appeared the most in Dalseo-Gu district except 2 parks in Jung-Gu district, the case of urban park of the walking area, it appeared in equality in city. 4) In conclusion, the area have high population density and lots of low income layer, is in out of disposition distance should be considered in first for city park plan.
Due to spread of covid-19, which began in December 2019, the usage of online distance learning has expanded within colleges. However, because of the lack of readiness for running online distance learning, professors and students had to experience a lot of inconvenience. In the near future, the usage of online distance learnig is expected to more expand, thus, it seems that there should be a strategies for sustainable online learning operations. This study aims to investigate which factors have impact on the continuance intention to usage of online distance learning of airline department students, focused on Post-Acceptance Model. For the empirical analysis, this study utilized a structural equation model after collecting 136 survey data. The results is as follow; First, user interface has positive impact on confirmation and confirmation has positive impact on satisfaction of online distance learning. Seconds, confirmation has positive impact on perceived usefulness, flow and social presence. Third, social presence has positive impact on satisfaction of online distance learning, but perceived usefulness and flow didn't have statistically meaningful impact on satisfaction. Finally, statisfaction of online distance learning has huge positive impact on continuance intention to usage. It is expected that the implications of this study enable colleges effectively to run online distance learning in preparation for the post-covid 19 era.
Purpose - This study examines the positive impact of the social distance between producers and users of online content, investigating and analyzing the most popular Web content. In addition, it tries to elicit the matching effect that appears when the individuals'cultural background is consistent with social distance. Research design, data, and methodology - We collected and analyzed actual data about 4,981 videos clips on YouTube, looking at six countries in order to verify the content of this study. Based on the results of the data analysis, the study conducted behavioral measurements on popularity, social distance, culture, and user engagement. The unit of analysis was the content and we collected information about the content producers and the content records. We controlled the views, comments, likes, calendar dates, and ages in the empirical models. The data was collected in 2011, with the records coming from South Korea, Japan, China, U.S., German, and France. A total of 4,980 elements were analyzed in the model. The empirical model estimated is the bivariate negative binomial distribution (NBD) model. Results - It turns out that there is a possibility that the matching effect can be diminished by variables that reflect the psychological involvement of user engagement. This study proposes academic and practical implications based on these research results. This research shows the positive effect of social distance between users and producers on the increased performance of the online content. We find the effect of social distance to be a stronger tendency in collectivism. The collectivists follow their sense of friendship and intimacy in their culture and, the social congruence effect can be found there as well. The effect, however, could erode in a social case where users are motivated by strong intrinsic and psychological factors. In addition, user engagement complicates the process of user decision making regarding the information. Conclusions - This study examines how the differential effects of social distance caused by culture could disappear through user commitment as a complicated user motivation. Some potential implications are as follows. First, a firm in the collectivism culture has to communicate based on the social distance. In fact, most online channels do not have a function that indicates the social distance as measured by favorites or subscribers. This function could help increase the performance of the content in online channels, but this increasing effect can only be found in a collectivist culture. Based on this, the firms have to communicate and announce to users the actual social distance between users and producers. Second, firms should develop a system that discovers the social distance and culture and shows these measures to users and producers, since the congruence effect between social distance and culture is found only for low user engagement. The firms can take the advantage of the congruence effect only for the development of the social distance and culture visualized system.
Distance teaming systems have become popular tools for teaching and learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze influence of instructor factors and media richness on student's intention th use and performance in distance teaming. We used TAM as a theoretical foundation to explain student's behavior. The model was tested using LISREL analysis on the sample of 246 users rho have experience with the distance teaming systems. The results show that instructor factors such as luぉ style and attitude have partial effects on perceived usefulness, ease of use and media richness. In addition, results also show that both TAM variables and media richness strongly predict intention In use of the distance loaming system Finally, the usage intention has a positive effect on teaming performance. Implications of these findings are discussed for researchers and practitioners.
In this paper, we evaluate the performance of zone-based registration and distance-based registration. First, we propose the mobility model which can be used to analyze the performance of both zone-based registration and distance-based registration. And using the proposed mobility model, we obtain several performance measures and perform numerical computation to compare the performance of two registration methods. Numerical results show that in general zone-based registration needs less number of registration than distance-based registration. On the other hand, if distance-based registration is used, registration load is equally distributed to all cells in a location area and ping-pong phenomenon is not occurred. And when a VLR area is composed of a few location areas, distance-based registration may need less registration load than zone-based registration. Therefore, a proper registration method should be selected considering system circumstances and implementation complexity, and the selected method should be implemented so as to change system parameters according to system circumstances.
