유한요소법을 이용한 원통형 강편의 자유단조 해석 (Analysis of Free Forging of Cylindrical Billets by Using finite Element Method)

  • The Finite Element Method is applied to the determination of the deformed bulge profile and strain distribution during upset forming of cylindrical billets. From the results of simulation, the bulging along the z-axis becomes more severe with increasing eight reduction, and with increasing friction at the die-material interface. The present method can be used for the simple prediction of the deformed shape and strain distribution in upset forging of cylindrical billets with dissimilar fictional conditions at the die-material interfaces.

  • 레이저 초음파검사 장치는 레이저 빔을 이용하여 초음파 신호를 발생시키고 측정하는 비접촉식 결함 검사 장치이다. 이 장치는 펄스 레이저 빔을 이용하여 광대역 주파수 범위를 갖는 초음파 신호를 발생시키고 작은 점으로 집속된 레이저 빔을 이용하여 초음파 신호를 측정하므로 우수한 측정 분해능을 제공한다. 본 연구에서는 이종금속 접촉부식(갈바닉 부식) 현상을 레이저를 이용한 비파괴, 비접촉 방법으로 측정하였다. 부식된 부분에 이물질이 혼합되는 경우를 가정하고, 레이저 초음파 실험을 진행하였다. 시편의 뒷면에서 펄스 레이저로 초음파를 발생시키고, 같은 위치의 앞면에서 CW 레이저와 CFPI를 이용하여 초음파 신호를 획득하였다. 이물질이 존재하는 부분의 초음파 신호 특성을 분석하여 이물질의 위치 및 크기를 측정하였다.

  • 본 논문에서는 적분변환법을 이용하여 면외전단 충격하중이 작용하는 두 개의 서로 다른 압전재료층 사이의 기능경사압전재료 접합층 내부 균열에 대한 과도응답 해석 을 수행한다. 기능경사압전재료의 물성치는 두께 방향을 따라 연속적으로 변하는 것으로 가정한다. 라플라스 변환과 푸리에 변환을 이용하여 문제를 복합적분방정식으로 구성하고, 수치해석을 위해 복합적 분방정식을 제 2 종 프레드홀름 적분방정식으로 표현한다. 전기적 하중, 재료물성 치의 변화율, 각 접합층의 두께가 균열의 과도응답에 미치는 영향을 보기 위해 동에너지 해방률에 대한 수치해석 결과를 제시한다.

  • Stress intensity factor of semi-infinite parallel crack propagation with constant velocity in dissimilar orthotropic strip under out-of-plane clamped desplacement is investigated. Using Fourier integral transforms the boundary value problem is derived by a pair of dual integral equation and finally reduced to a single Wiener-Hopf equation. By applying Wiener-Hopf technique the equation is solved. Applying this result the asymptotic stress fields near the crack tip are determined, from which the stress intensity factor is obtained in closed form. The more the ratio of anisotropy or the ratio of bi-material shear modulus increase in the main material including the crack, the more the stress intensity factor increases. Discontinuity in the stress intensity factor is found as the parallel crack approaches the interface. In special case, the results of isotropic materials agree well with those by the previous researchers.

  • Global warming is hot issue to keep the earth everlastingly. Despite the increase of the world population and the energy demand, the world oil supply and the oil price are hold the steady state. If we are not decrease the world population and the energy consumption, unforeseeable energy crisis will come in the immediate future. AMT acronym of Advanced Materials for Transportation is a non-profitable IEA-affiliated organization to mitigate the oil consumption and the environment contamination for the transportation. In recent, Annex X Multi-materials Joining was added to enhance the car body weight reduction cause the high fuel efficiency and the low emission of exhaust gas. Multi-materials are the advanced materials application technology to optimize the weight, the performance and the cost with the combination of different materials such as Al-alloy, Mg- alloy, AHSS and CFRP. In this study, the trends of AMT strategy and Al-alloy based multi-materials joining technology were review. Also several technologies for Al-alloy dissimilar joining were investigated.

  • Order of stress singularities at bonded Edge Corners with two or three dissimilar isotropic Materials is analyzed. The problem is formulated by Mellin transform and characteristic equation is obtained as a determinant of matrix considering boundary conditions. Roots of characterictic equation are determinde by numerical calculations with ward method, from which the order of stress sigularities is obtained. Applying the results to the electronic packaging, the order of stress singularities is obtained. Applying the results to the electronic packaging, the order of stress singularities at bounded edge corners is calculated as a various bouned edge angle with given material combinations. Comparing the results, the optimal material combinaitons of bounded edge corners and bouned edge angle to reduce stress singularity could be determined. It suggests that the results are used to the basic design of electronic packaging reducing the stress singularity.

  • Several joining methods involving resistance welding, laser welding, ultrasonic welding and mechanical joining are currently applied in manufacturing lithium-ion batteries. Cu and Al alloys are used for tab and bus bar materials, and laser welding characteristics for these alloys were investigated with similar and dissimilar material combinations in this study. The base materials used were Al 1050 and oxygen-free Cu 1020P alloys, and a disk laser was used with a continuous wave mode. In bead-on-plate welding of both alloys, the joint strength was higher than the strength of O tempered base material. In overlap welding, the effect of welding parameters on the tensile shear strength and bead shape was evaluated. Tensile shear strength of overlap welded joint was affected by interfacial bead width and weld defect formation. The tensile-shear specimen was fractured at the heat affected zone by selecting proper laser welding parameters.

접착부재의 계면에 대한 초음파 탐상 특성 (Characteristics of Ultrasonic Test on Interfaces of Adhesively Bonded Components)

  • The application of adhesively bonded components is increasing in various industries such as automobile, aircraft, IC packages, and soldering techniques. In spite of such wide application in adhesively bonded components, nondestructive test techniques applying to adhesively bonded components have not been clearly established yet. In this paper, characteristics of ultrasonic test on interfaces of adhesively bonded components have been investigated by calculating transmission coefficient theoretically and experimentally. From the experimental results, the optimum conditions to establish frequencies for adhesively bonded homogeneous and dissimilar components are 4∼6 MHz and 2∼4 MHz, respectively.

  • The crank shafts need anti-corrosion materials. So STS 304 is the essential material to manufacture this shaft. However, it costs more to manufacture the shafts by using only STS 304 than welding of STS 304 to other carbon steels. And it has been difficult to weld this sort of dissimilar materials. They could be unstable in the quality by the conventional arc welding. And also they have a lot of technical problems in manufacturing. But by the friction welding technique, it will be able to be made without such problems. Then, this study aimed not only to develop the optimization of dissimilar friction welding of crank shafts steels of STS 304, SM35C, but also to develop the application technique of the acoustic emission to accomplish in-process real-time quality(such as tensile) evaluation during friction welding of the shafts by the AE technique.

Hybrid SPR 접합을 적용한 이종소재 인장전단에 관한 연구 (Investigating the Tensile-Shear of Dissimilar Materials Joined Using the Hybrid SPR Technique)

  • Self-piercing rivets are often used in the automotive industry, among other industries, as mechanical components to join multiple materials such as aluminum alloys. Self-piercing rivets have a strong sealing property, although there is considerable scope for their performance improvement. In this study, to enhance the performance of self-piercing rivets, the hybrid self-piercing riveting (SPR) technique, using the existing SPR and structural adhesive, was proposed. Moreover, heterogeneous material specimens subjected to the hybrid SPR technique were manufactured and tested. The joint strength of the test pieces of different materials was evaluated through finite element analyses.
