This paper deals with the performance comparison of blind adaptive equalization algorithm, the MMA and S-MMA, that is used for compensation of the amplitude and phase distortion simultaneously which occurs in the time dispersive channel. The present CMA algorithm is possible to compensates the amplitude only, but not in phase, so it needs to the another additional circuit for compensating the phase. In order to overcoming the abovemensioned shorthand, the improved cost function is applied to the MMA algorithm. In MMA algorithm, the error is consists of the dispersion constant only, but in S-MMA, the error is consists of the dispersion constant considering the output of decision device (sliced symbol) in order to updating the tap coefficients. By using the two kind error signal, the adaptive equalization algorithm has different performance. In this paper, we compare to the adaptive equalization algorithm performance by using the recovered constellation, residual isi, MD (Maximum Distortion) and SER as a index when the transmitting signal is 16 and 64-QAM and then passing through the same communication channel. As a result of simulation, the S-MMA can improving the Roburstness in SER performance compared to the MMA in the high order QAM signal.

The monolayer behaviors at the air-water interface and the dielectric properties of MI-0 LB films for complex concentration were investigated by the surface pressure-area ($\pi$-A) isotherms and dielectric constant. The molecular area was expanded with increase of metal ions concentration. It is considered that the expansion of molecular area is due to electrostatic repulsion between the polymer chains andhydrophobic increase of ionic strength. In the frequency-dependent complex dielectric constant at room temperature, the real part of dielectric constant($\varepsilon'$) is about 6.0~10.0 in the low-frequency range and is decreasing slowly upto $1O^4$Hz. It decreased abruptly near $1O^5Hz$. It seems to be dielectric dispersion in this frequency range. Also, the imaginary part of dielectric constant ($\varepsilon"$) shows a peak in $1O^5$~$1O^6Hz$. It seems to be dielectric absorption in this frequency range.ange.

An experimental study has been carried out using a rotating water channel in order to investigate the effect of surface roughness on the vertical dispersion of plume within boundary layer. Dispersion measurements of tracers released from two sources with different height at neutral conditions over various rough terrain ranging from rural to urban have been performed. Various values of roughness length were simulated by combining of 4 stream velocities and 3 roughness element conditions. Dispersion measurements have also been made for rough terrain where high buildings are locally concentrated. Values of $\sigma$z increase with roughness and this tendency appears to apply both cases of with and without locally concentrated high buildings. The comparisons of the Bowne's nomogram on $\sigma$2 vs x relationship and the measurements of $\sigma$2 with roughness show good accordance in $\sigma$2 distribution at stability D class over rural, suburban and urban terrain. For constant roughness length the $\sigma$2 values of plumes from lower source height are smaller than those of plumes from higher source at short downwind distance, but this relationship becomes reverse as distance increases. Crossing appears to be made before about 2km. The value of constant I in McMullen's equation $\sigma$2=exp [I+J(In x) + K(In x)2] appears to increase with roughness length, however, the relationships between other constants and roughness have been confirmed. The values of $\sigma$2 for various downwind distances, estimated by using an equation which is employed in ISC (Industrial Source Complex) dispersion model for areas where high buildings are locally assembled, are in accordance with measurements from water channel experiments.
We synthesized various polyurethanes(PU) haying different hard segments with different molecular weights of the soft segment to explore the effect of structure on the dispersion of silver particle in the phase of synthesized polyurethanes matrix. The thermal stability was increased by increasing the number of aromatic compound, while the degree of dispersion for silver particle was decreased. Silver particles showed better dispersion in the PU matrix having aromatic compounds when the soft segments were held constant. On the contrary, when the hard segment was held constant, silver particles on the PU matrix haying low $M_w$ of soft segment showed better dispersion than high $M_w$ of soft segment because poor chain mobility of low $M_w$ of soft segment restricted re-aggregation of silver particle. A sheet resistance of composite materials showed different aspects. In this case, the inter connection between silver particles was more important than its dispersion. In this study, the NDI-PEG 900/silver particle composite film showed the best thermal stability and electro conductivity.
The conditions of the wall charges and priming particles in a unit discharge cell in AC PDP seriously affect the addressing discharge characteristics in the driving method with ramped setup pulse. Moreover, the discharge conditions at the end of the scan line may be different from the first scan line because of the difference of about 1ms address time. Consequently, the addressing time and its dispersion may be different for any two discharge cells that lead to misfiring and the increase in the total addressing time. In order to improve the addressing time and its dispersion, we have applied different addressing voltage at each cell such as progressively increase pulse voltage instead of constant one. As a result, the addressing time and its dispersion of all cells were improved by about 30% compared with the conventional driving method.

We have investigated dielectric dispersion and absorption in organic light-emitting diodes using 8-hydroxyquinoline aluminum($Alq_3$) as an electron transport and emissive material. We analyzed the dielectric dispersion and absorption of organic light emitting diodes using impedance characteristics measurement by the auto-balancing bridge technique of ITO/$Alq_3$/Al. Impedance characteristics was measured complex impedance Z and phase e in the frequency range of 40Hz to $10^8Hz$. We obtained dielectric constant and loss tangent (tan $\delta$) of the device. From these analyses, we are able to interpret a dielectric dispersion and dielectric absorption contributed by an interfacial and orientational polarization.

Flow visualization study has been conducted to simulate the turbulent dispersion behavior of a crossflow jet physically under the conditions of various thermal stratification in a wind tunnel. A smoke jet with the constant ratio of the jet to freestream velocity is injected normally to the cross flow of the thermally stratified wind tunnel(TSWT) for flow visualization. The typical natures of the smoke dispersion under different thermal stratifications such as neutral, weakly stable, strongly stable, weakly unstable, strongly unstable and inversion layer are successfully reproduced in the TSWT. The Instantaneous velocity and temperature fluctuations are measured by using a cold and hot-wire combination probe. The time averaged dispersion behaviors, the centerline trajectories, the spreading angles and the virtual origins of the cross jet are deduced from the edge detected images with respect to the stability parameter. All the general characteristics of the turbulent dispersion behavior reveal that the definitely different dispersion mechanisms are inherent in both stable and unstable conditions. It is conjectured that the turbulent statistics obtained in the various stability conditions quantitatively demonstrate the vertical scalar flux plays a key role in the turbulent dispersion behavior.

The horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe which is suitable for the sensible heat storage system is able to store a hot water from the heat source such as heating pad efficiently and to supply a hot water to load rapidly. Therefore Arrangement of heating pad affects thermal flow and thermal storage efficiency. So, if effective arrangement is decided for condition of constant number of heating pad, the more rapid thermal flow effect and higher thermal storage efficiency is obtainable by active heat transfer. In this experiments, number of heating pad is ranged from three, five and nine, and when number of heating pad is constant, arrangement are two types of concentration-type and dispersion-type. As a result, for the case of concentration-type of heating pad, strong entrainment take place in horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe by active heat transfer and in the constant number of heating pad, the concentration-type has the higher efficiency with about 5∼6% than the dispersion-type. Therefore, when heating pad is equipted to horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe, concentration-type of heating pad is an efficient design in constant number. of heating pad.

This paper evaluates the equalization algorithm of FC-MMA (Fast Convergence-Multi Modulus Algorithm) and RMMA (Region based Multi Modulus Algorithm) for the compensation of intersymbol interference which is due to the distortion of communication channel. In order to obtain the error signal for adaptive equalization, the FC-MMA use the modified dispersion constant considering the number of signal symbol, the RMMA separates the 4 region which every symbol points are located, then reduce the symbol point based on this region into constant modulus symbol point. By applying the different principle in order to get the error signal for the updating the tap coefficient of adaptive equalizer, it has the different equalization performance by these error signal. The computer simulation was performed in order to compare the different equalization performance in this paper. The performance index includes the output signal constellation, the residual isi and maximum distortion that is for the convergence characteristics, the SER. As a result of computer simulation, RMMA has more good performance in the residual isi, maximum distortion after in steady state and SER performance than FC-MMA, but not in convergence speed to reach the steady state.
The horizontal thermal storage tank with heat pipe which is suitable for the sensible heat storage system is able to store a hot water from the heat source such as heating pad efficiently and to supply a hot water to load rapidly. And arrangement of heating pad play an important role in thermal flow and thermal storage efficiency. In this experiments, number of heating pad is ranged from three, five and nine, and when there is no change on number of heating pad, arrangements are two types of concentration-type and dispersion-type. Strong entrainment take place in the case of concentration-type of heating pad, and rapid temperature rise(${\Delta}{\doteqdot}1.6{\sim}3.2^{\circ}C$) in the tank is obtainable on the concentration-type than dispersion-type. In the constant number of heating pad, the concentration-type has the higher efficiency with about $5{\sim}6%$ than the dispersion-type Therefore, concentration-type of heating pad is an efficient design in constant number of heating pad.
