A Lamb wave guided by a plate structure has dispersive characteristics because phase and group velocity change with the variation of frequency and thickness. The Lamb wave has two modes, symmetric and anti-symmetric mode, which propagated symmetrically and non-symmetrically with respect to centerline. In this paper, the Lamb wave velocity variation with respect to direction is investigated.

We prepared Co-Cr thin film for perpendicular magnetic recording media with facing targets sputtering system(FTS system) which can deposit a high quality thin film in plasma-free state and wide range of working pressure. The effect of sputtering conditions(argon gas pressure and substrate temperature) on the magnetic and the crystallographic characteristic of Co-Cr thin film was investigated. And the variation of perpendicular coercivity with the variation of film thickness was studied. As a result we obtained the high perpendicular coercivity of 1900Oe and the good dispersion angle of c-axis($\Delta$$\theta$$_{50}$) of 5$^{\circ}$on the film thickness of 100nm for the promising recording layer of perpendicular magnetic recording media.c recording media.a.
This paper is devoted to the presentation of a numerical study on vibration behavior of composite panels reinforced by glass fibres and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) subjected to thermal environments. The effect of temperature variation has been included as thermal load acting on in-plane direction of the panel. To model the composite material, a micromechanical model which contains random dispersion of nanotubes and single-direction fibers has been selected. The geometry of the panel has been considered to have a single curveture along its width. Based on the above assumptions, the governing equations have been derived by using thin shell theory capturing the panel curveture and also nonlinear deflections. Finally, the panel dependence on various factors such as the curveture, nanotube amount, fiber volume, fiber direction and temperature variation has been researched.

The clay and yellow loess have capability to adsorb and precipitate particles. The removal efficiencyes of those flocculents on the dinoflagellate, Cochlodinium polykrikoides, have been studied in laboratory and in field near Tongyong fish farm in September, 1996. The removal efficiencyes in the laboratory experiment was $43\%$ for $2\;g/{\ell}$, $64\%$ for $6g/{\ell}$ and $88\%$ for $10\;g/{\ell}$ in one hour after dispersion. No big difference of removal efficiency was found between the raw and the acid-activated loess. In the field survey, the removal rates ranged from 72 to $80\%$ in 30 min after the dispersion. The effect of loess scattering on water quality was estimated. The concentrations of dissolved inorganic nitrogen (DIN), chemical of gen demand (COD) and chlorophyll a decreased more or less after dispersion, while the concentration of suspended solid (SS) increased. The concentrations of dissolved oxygen (DO) and dissolved inorganic phosphorous (DIP) were kept constant. These results indicated that the dispersion concentration of more than $10g/{\ell}$ has a good removal efficiency of above $80\%$ without big variation of water quality after dispersion of yellow loess.

Nano seed incorporated in micro-sized 4BS (Tetrabasic lead Sulfate) seed was applied to the positive electrode active material and compared with Nano 4BS seed (NS). The dispersion of NS decreased due to the aggregation phenomenon, while the nano seed incorporated in micro-sized 4BS seed (INS) could confirm excellent dispersion. As the content of INS increased, the particle size of the active material became small and constant, which was confirmed through SEM and particle size analysis. The specific surface area for the reaction was increased and the high-rate discharge and lifetime characteristics were improved. In order to confirm the variation in particle size distribution in the plate manufacturing process, internal resistance and voltage were measured for 200 AGM lead-acid batteries, and it was confirmed that batteries quality variation decreased.

For this research, prepared polyurethane dispersion of hard segment type and polyethylene emulsion wax. Use these resin, this article has been analyzed about mechanical properties variation by increasing amount of polyethylene emulsion wax on Lam skin leather and dried film. According to measure data for solvent resistance, PUD had good property. As known in the results, increase of polyethylene wax constant did not influence to big variation of hybrid resin properties. As test of tensile strength, PUD had good tensile characteristic($1.235kg_f/mm^2$) and PUD-EW4 had lowest tensile characteristic($1.022kg_f/mm^2$). As same as tensile characteristic, abrasion test determined PUD(52.225 mg.loss) had highest properties. In elongation case, PUD showed 698 % modulus which was best properties in this experiment.
When generating spectrum-compatible artificial ground motion in engineering practices, the effect of the variation in fitting parameters on the distribution of the peak ground displacement (PGD) has not yet drawn enough attention. In this study, a method for simulating ground motion matching for multiple targets is developed. In this method, a frequency-dependent amplitude envelope function with statistical parameters is introduced to simulate the nonstationarity of the frequency in earthquake ground motion. Then, several groups of time-history acceleration with different temporal and spectral nonstationarities were generated to analyze the effect of nonstationary parameter variations on the distribution of PGD. The following conclusions are drawn from the results: (1) In the simulation of spectrum-compatible artificial ground motion, if the acceleration time-history is generated with random initial phases, the corresponding PGD distribution is quite discrete and an uncertain number of PGD values lower than the limit value are observed. Nevertheless, the mean values of PGD always meet the requirement in every group. (2) If the nonstationary frequencies of the ground motion are taken into account when fitting the target spectrum, the corresponding PGD values will increase. A correlation analysis shows that the change in the mean and the dispersion values, from before the frequencies are controlled to after, correlates with the modal parameters of the predominant frequencies. (3) Extending the maximum period of the target spectrum will increase the corresponding PGD value and, simultaneously, decrease the PGD dispersion. Finally, in order to control the PGD effectively, the ground motion simulation method suggested in this study was revised to target a specified PGD. This novel method can generate ground motion that satisfies not only the required precision of the target spectrum, peak ground acceleration (PGA), and nonstationarity characteristics of the ground motion but also meets the required limit of the PGD, improving engineering practices.

An analog phase shifter is designed at the operating frequency 10GHz that is coupled with a hybrid ring and the network connecting an inductor series with a varactor to extend a continuous chage in the phase of the reflected output wave to be produced from a variation in the terminated varactor reactance as a variation in the reverse bias voltage. It is manufactured in a microstripline in consideration of an effect of the dispersion characteristics and discontinuities. As a resuls of an experiment, a change in the phase is achieved over 180 degree from $52.34^{\circ}$ degrees to $235.01^{\circ}$degrees, the transmission loss is -3.6~-14.3dB, and the return loss is -16~-8dB(1.37

Atmospheric concentrations of radon had been continuously observed in Seoul, Korea since December 1999, as a tracer for long-range transport of air pollutants from China continent to Korea. In order to study radon as a tracer of long-range transport, it is important to know information about the atmospheric distribution and variation of radon concentration and its time variation. Atmospheric radon concentration are measured with electrostatic radon monitor(ERM) at Hanyang University located in Eastern area of Seoul. Air sample is taken into a vessel of ERM, and alpha particles emitted by radon daughters $Po^{218}$ are detected with ZnS(Ag) scintillation counter. Hourly mean concentrations and hourly alpha counts are recorded automatically. The major results obtained from time series observation of atmospheric radon were as follows : (1) The mean of airborne radon concentration in Seoul was found to be $7.62{\pm}4.11\;Bq/m^3$ during December $1999{\sim}January$ 2002. (2) The hourly variation of radon concentrations showed the highest in 8:00AM ($8.66{\pm}4.22\;Bq/m^3$) and the lowest in 3:00AM ($6.62{\pm}3.70\;Bq/m^3$) and 5:00AM ($6.62{\pm}3.39\;Bq/m^3$). (3) the seasonal variation of radon concentrations showed higher during winter-to-fall and lower during summer-to-spring. (4) Correlation between airborne radon concentration and the meteorological factors were -0.21 for temperature, 0.09 for humidity, -0.20 for wind speed, and 0.04 for pressure. (5) The mean difference of airborne radon concentration between Asian dust ($5.36{\pm}1.28\;Bq/m^3$) and non-Asian dust ($4.95{\pm}1.49\;Bq/m^3$) phenomenon was significant (p=0.08). We could identify time series distribution of radon concentration related meteorological factors. In addition, radon can be considered a good natural tracer of vertical dispersion and long-range transport.

Soil physical and chemical properties at three layers such as top (0-10 cm), middle (10-20 cm) and bottom (20-30 cm) layers under three different vegetation types were studied. Soil samples were collected from Acacia forest, vegetable and fallow lands of Chittagong university campus, Chittagong, Bangladesh. Results showed that sand was the dominant soil particle followed by clay and silt fractions in all soil depths under different vegetation types. Soils of fallow land showed the highest values of bulk density while forest soils had the lowest values at three depths. Acacia forest soil having lowest values of dispersion ratio (DR) is less vulnerable while fallow soil with highest DR values is more vulnerable to soil erosion. The lower pH value at all soil layers in three ecosystems represented that soils under study are acidic in nature. Contents of organic matter, total nitrogen, exchangeable cations (Ca2+, Mg2+, K+ and Na+) and cation exchange capacity (CEC) were observed higher in Acacia forest soils compared to vegetable and fallow soils. Only soils of vegetable land had higher level of available phosphorus in three layers than that of other two land covers. The study also revealed that different soil properties were observed in three different vegetation types might be due to variation in vegetation and agronomic practices.
