The therapeutic effect of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for patients with Social Anxiety Disorder (SAD) is supported by evidence from numerous studies. This article provides an overview of cognitive models and major techniques (i.e., cognitive restructuring and exposure) of CBT for SAD, developed by the study group of SAD in the Korean Academy of Anxiety Disorder. Korean-culture specific factors and new trends such as a third wave of CBT are also described.

Objectives We conducted a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials to investigate the therapeutic effects of mindfulness-based interventions on depressive symptoms in patients with major depressive disorder. Methods In February 2021, we searched Embase, MEDLINE, Cochrane Library, PsycINFO, CINAHL, and AMED. Under the guidance of the corresponding author, two evaluators independently reviewed and selected articles based on predetermined selection criteria. Results Based on the selection criteria, we systematically screened and included a total of 12 randomized controlled trials comprising 720 cases for the final analysis. Utilizing a random-effects model for data analysis, we determined the Hedges' g value to be 0.787, indicating a medium-sized effect according to Cohen's interpretation. The 95% confidence interval for the effect size ranged from 0.414 to 1.160 (p-value < 0.0001). Conclusions This study reveals the potential effectiveness of mindfulness-based interventions in treating depressive symptoms among patients with major depressive disorder.
Therapeutic effect of Yinyang Balancing Appliance of functional cerebrospinal therapy (FCST) for meridian and neurologic yinyang balance was observed in tic disorder patients. Seventy tic disorder cases were managed with the Yinyang Balancing Appliance on temporomandibular joint (TMJ), combined with acupuncture. Clinical outcome measurement was based on subjective measures and overall clinical impressions. Patients showed a trend toward improvement by clinical observations. In some cases, such changes were visible even after the initial treatment, and this effect was observed to be maintained over the follow-up period. Further clinical and biological research on tic disorder is expected with respect to the FCST.

The aim of this paper is to evaluate the use of non-stimulants, including atomoxetine, bupropion and modafinil, as alternative approaches to the treatment of children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. A comprehensive review of the empirically based literature regarding the efficacy and the safety of the non-stimulants was performed. There is a large and increasing body of data supporting the efficacy and the safety of non-stimulants. Although the treatment effect sizes for non-stimulants may be smaller than those for stimulants, non-stimulants alone have been shown to be effective in the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder as well as several comorbidities. These results suggest that non-stimulants are effective in the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder. Further studies are needed to improve our understanding of alternative pharmacological medications in the treatment of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder.
Objectives The study was conducted to evaluate the recent treatment and study trends of tic disorder by reviewing domestic and international randomized controlled studies. Methods The acupuncture treatment on tic disorder randomized control study articles (published by June 10th, 2016) were selected from seven academic literature archives; NDSL, OASIS, KTKP, Pubmed, J-STAGE, CNKI, and CINAHL. Results Ten articles were identified after searching. These studies were analyzed by year, diagnostic criteria, intervention, evaluation criteria, treatment points, treatment effect, treatment duration, and 'Risk of Bias' assessment. Conclusions According to the articles, acupuncture was effective in treating tic disorder. However, additional well-designed randomized controlled studies will be required to justify the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment on tic disorder.

Methods : We divided 90 into 3 groups and performed low, moderate, and high intensity exercise, respectively for 8 weeks in K city. Results : As a result, first, there was a significant change of global PSQI score in moderate intensity exercise comparing with before and after exercise. Second, there was a significant change of global PSQI score in moderate intensity exercise comparing with low and high intensity exercise. Third, there was a significant change of melatonin in blood in moderate intensity exercise comparing with before and after exercise. Forth, there was a significant change of melatonin in blood in moderate intensity exercise comparing with low and high intensity exercise. Conclusion : In this study, we observed change of EEG and melatonin in blood to know how did continued exercise according to intensity of exercise have effect on sleep disorder. Autism spectrum disorder is a common neurodevelopmental disorder with an unknown etiology. The correlation between neonatal jaundice and the risk of developing autism spectrum disorder was investigated previously. Some studies showed significant associations, whereas others demonstrated no association. In this meta-analysis, we pooled the results of observational studies to examine the association between neonatal jaundice and the risk of autism spectrum disorder among children. We identified all studies published through April 2018 by conducting a literature search using Web of Science, PubMed, and Scopus databases as well as the reference lists of the retrieved studies. The pooled odds ratios (ORs), rate ratio (RR), and their 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were calculated as random effect estimates of association among studies. We conducted a subgroup analysis to explore any potential sources of intergroup heterogeneity. The pooled estimates of OR and RR showed a considerable correlation between neonatal jaundice and ASD among children (OR, 1.35; 95% CI, 1.02-1.68) and (RR, 1.39; 95% CI, 1.05-1.74). A larger effect size was shown in the pooled estimated crude OR than in the adjusted OR (1.75 [0.96-2.54] vs. 1.19 [1.07-1.30]). This study showed that neonatal jaundice may be associated with ASD and may increase the risk of ASD among children.
