  • With the development of hardware and 3D graphic technologies since the 1990s, video games have been evolving in the direction in which they wholly pursue illusions and movie formats, and thus they are considered to be media centered on spectacles. However, video games, due to their inherent characteristics, cannot be transparent media like the existing spectacular entertainments centering on optical illusions. In their structure, there can be found elements that continually disillusion players from visions. Strictly speaking, players are not lost in visions, but are kept a certain distance from internal contexts. Games rely not on illusion but on contracts with players which are similar to a kind of convention, clearing internal imperfections. This paper aims to identify and analyze disillusioning elements and discuss theatrical contacts between players and games. The purpose of this paper is to reconsider the awareness of video games as a spectacle entertainment and to help discover future directions for game culture.

  • In this writing, issued beauty as Hyangga(향가) creative motivation into the focus, its expression modality is discussed and then an aesthetic sense of Sil-la is considered. For its research, in "Samkukyusa"("삼국유사") some Hyangga - , , , - that have phraseologies for beauty meaning are choose for the discuss.   • The purpose of this study is to investigate the characteristics of Grotesque in Contemporary Fashion. The study selected the 1990's or after fashion material by the material of both $pr{\hat{e}}t-{\grave{a}}-porter$ collection and haute couture collection based on Europe. These days, the characteristics of grotesque have been categorized into four groups based on the theory of representative scholars of the Post Modernism era. The results are as follows. ${\cdot}$ The devilism creates shocking and destructive cruelty and fear by using frightening object and mysterious and devilish motif which symbolize the death of fashion ${\cdot}$ Hatred produces physical destroy of human body, anatomical expression inside human body, cruelty by naked sex expression, pains, cruel treatment, disillusion and unpleasantness, which have been caused by the disturbance and ideological confrontation of the society, and is said to be a kind of self-confession against dislike and fear of the disclosure of human existence. ${\cdot}$ Playfulness distorts and exaggerates clothes and human body forms, and produces abnormality and mystery because of vague sex identity. The playfulness of fashion can open fixed and closed world and lead it flexibly. ${\cdot}$ Heterogeneity is divided into both primitiveness and virtuality The primitiveness distorts or transforms human body through the human body decoration of primitive race, and expresses a grotesque form combining human being and other animals. It gives a question to the existence of alienated and suppressed life through the world. in which everything is mixed and not separated. The virtuality introduces not only cyborg form combining human being and machines but also state of the art technology factors, so that it emphasizes non-mechanical and non-human grotesque images.

Dualism in Carlyle's Sartor Resartus: Descendentalism and Transcendentalism

  • Pointing out the reality of criticism done mostly on Carlyle s original structure and rhetoric in his Sartor Resartus, this research paper focuses on Carlyle s dualistic philosophy revealed in the work, limiting its focus mostly to the dualistic theme of descendentalism and transcendentalism. The essence of Caryle s descendentalism is his irony and satire on human civilization, not for criticism itself, like other satirists, but rather out of his deep, secret humanism behind his mask. Roughly the two objects of his social criticism in the contemporary, descendentalisitc world, are mechanism and materialism in a variety of new ideologies. To diagnose the Zeitgeist and disillusion man living in contemporary civilization, Carlyle in this work uses a very original metaphor, the clothes-symbol. According to Carlyle, human history and progress can be said to be originated from man s adventitious invention of clothes that was not for biological need or social decency, but for decoration, the instinct of which implies man s innate vanity and desire. Interestingly enough here, however, Carlyle uses the same metaphor of clothes for his vision of transcendence, the world of Everlasting Yea. Man is also God s apparel and Matter is that of Spirit. Carlyle s Everlasting Yea world stresses especially the two attitudes, belief in God and love of man, which have been recently jeopardized in the socalled descendentalistic world. But Carlyle s transcendental and religious vision in Sartor Resartus is, as critics also have agreed, a unique and mysterious vision as something different from orthodox Christianity or other Victorian ideologies, as more like an amalgamation among Calvinism, Romanticism, Platonism and German Idealism. All in all, reading Sartor Resartus is still a valuable experience of an idiosyncratically original vision along with his warning against dehumanizing forces lurking in the name of civilization and with his ultimate eulogy on man, proving descendentalism as just part of transcendentalism, although the reader from time to time can be embarrassed by his male-centered, politically conservative, and individual-oriented dynamism.

The Characteristics of Reality Dynamic Counseling in Real Counseling Process (상담사례 과정에 반영된 현실역동상담의 특성)

  • The Reality Dynamic Counseling which reflects Korean culture and Korean sensibilities has been introduced as a model of Korean counseling approach. This is a qualitative study to examine how the characteristics of Reality Dynamic Counseling appear upon the real counseling process for the clients who were physically attacked by their own son and were brought to this counseling export from juvenile counseling service center. The major properties of Reality Dynamic Counseling are grasping the problem with connecting whole context, dealing with an external world as well as an internal world, emphasizing a role in relation with others, serving as a fosterer or an educator for counselor, confronting a client to awake from a disillusion, restoring to the good relationship between a parent and a child, and pulling a client to the relation with people. These properties are well brought out in the real counseling process. The Manual written by a counselor which gives us detailed commentary on counseling process was selected and analyzed in this study because the protocol between a counselor and a client was too large quantity and it could not show on how to change like facial expression and voice.

A Study on the Ending Type of Movie Plot from the Viewpoint of Problem Based Storytelling : Focusing on 'StoryHelper' (문제 기반 스토리텔링의 관점에서 본 영화 플롯의 결말 유형 연구 : '스토리헬퍼'를 중심으로)

  • The problem-based storytelling of the three-act structure, which sees the plot of the story as a solution to the problem of the character, has been the guide of creation to the creator of popular stories since Aristotle. Also problem-based storytelling has served as a schema that provides dramatic catharsis to the audience of the story, and one of the dramatic catharsis It has been working as a schema. This problem - based storytelling has been used as a structure for story production programs that have been developed since the 1980s. However, this story authoring program is focused only on the external problem of the story, but it has the limitation of producing the story that can not solve the internal problem of the character and provide the catharsis. This paper analyze the plot structure of 'StoryHelper', which is a domestic story authoring program, and the ending of 900 films, both domestic and foreign, which are database in 'StoryHelper'. 'StoryHelper' presents a problem-based plot structure that can consider not only external problems but also internal problems by applying causality and mythical episodes. The structure of these plots is based on the parameters of external problem solving, unresolved internal problem solving, and unresolved variables maturity plot(542films), disillusion plot(111films), education plot(132films), tragedy plot(205films). The results of this analysis are expected to provide a meaningful structure for plot-based creative and creative program development.
