가압 DTF를 이용한 석탄 촤-CO2 가스화 반응상수 도출 (Deriving the Rate Constants of Coal Char-CO2 Gasification using Pressurized Drop Tube Furnace)

  • This study investigates the gasification of coal char by $CO_2$ under high pressures in a drop tube furnace(DTF). The rate constants are derived for the shrinking core model using the conventional method based on the set reactor conditions. The computational fluid dynamic(CFD) simulations adopting the rate constants revealed that the carbon conversion was much slower than the experimental results, especially under high temperature and high partial pressure of reactants. Three reasons were identified for the discrepancy: i) shorter reaction time because of the entry region for heating, ii) lower particle temperature by the endothermic reaction, and iii) lower partial pressure of $CO_2$ by its consumption. Therefore, the rate constants were corrected based on the actual reaction conditions of the char. The CFD results updated using the corrected rate constants well matched with the measured values. Such correction of reaction conditions in a DTF is essential in deriving rate constants for any char conversion models by $H_2O$ and $O_2$ as well as $CO_2$.

액체로켓 추진제 공급계에서 캐비테이션 벤튜리의 유량 제어 특성 (Flow Rate Control Characteristics of a Cavitating Venturi in a Liquid Rocket Propellant Feed System)

  • 액체로켓 추진제 공급장치에 정착된 캐비테이션 벤튜리의 유량 제어 특성을 해석하였다. 해석에는 실험과 수치해석이 병행되었으며 캐비테이션이 존재하는 유동에서 두 결과의 유량 차이는 약 10%로 나타났다. 벤튜리 상류의 압력을 $22.8{\times}10^5$pa로 일정하게 유지하고 하류의 압력을 변동시켰을 때 $3{\times}10^5$pa 이상의 압력 차이에 대하여 유량이 증가하지 않음을 확인하였다. 비응축 기체의 농도 변화에 의하여 벤튜리 내부에 발생하는 증기의 분포는 크게 달라지지만 유량은 같은 수준이 유지되어 비응축 기체의 농도가 1.5PPM에서 150PPM로 커질 경우, 유량이 약 2% 감소하였다. 이는 작동유체가 포함하고 있는 비응축 기체의 팽창과 생성된 증기가 압력 회복을 저해하는 영향이 유사하기 때문으로 풀이된다.

  • Over the range(OTR) has been applied for cooking and ventilation functions especially in northern Amarica. Because flow rate and operating rpm of the double sided sirocco fan for ventilation are much higher and than the microwave oven system, the major noise source is the sirocco fm. Recently, the quiet fan development is one of very important issues for amenity. In this study, the noise source identification using multi-microphone array system was carefully carried out and numerical simulations for understanding the aerodynamic and aeroacoustic of the fan were peformed. The sound level of tonal noise is predicted with a good accuracy but that of the broadband shows some discrepancy. In order to reduce the broadband noise, the inlet region of sirocco fan have to be modified that the secondary flow should be suppressed. Based on these results, new low noise fan and OTR is now developing.

해빈변형 예측 모델의 개발 (The Development of a Model to Predict Beach Evolution)

  • 돌제 주위의장기간 해빈변형을 예측하기 위하여 수위의 변동, 파의굴절과 회절을 고려하여 해석하는 수치적 모델이다. 이러한 문제에 대한 수치해석은 연안표사랑에 대한 경계조건을 가지는 방정식을 고려함으로써 해석된다. 해석방법으로는 음해법 중의 하나인 Crank-Nicolson Scheme을 사용하였다. 이 모델을 현지에 적용시킨 결과, 굴절과 회절계수의 근사해로 인하여 돌제 내부 영역에서는 실측치와 예측치가 차이가 있으나, 돌제 외부 영역에서의 경향은 잘 일치하고 있음을 알 수 있다.

부유식 해양구조물에 작용하는 시감평균 파표류력에 관한 고찰 (On the Time-Mean Drift Force Acting on a Floating Offshore Structure in Wave)

  • Formulation of the far-field method for the prediction of time-mean hydrodynamic force and moment acting on a 3-D surface-piercing body in waves is reviewed. It is found that the inequality between the weight of the floating body and its buoyancy force permits the replacement of the fluid particles inside the control surface by the fluid particles outside the control surface. Under such circumstances, momentum exchanges across the control surface make the time-mean value of the time rate of the momentum of the fluid inside the control surface non-vanishing. It is a second-order quantity which is hard to calculate by the far-field method. The drift forces and moments on half-immersed ellipsoids are calculated by both the far-field method and the near-field method. The discrepancy between two numerical results is presented and discussed.

대기중 이산화황 관측 방법들의 실측 비교 연구 (An Intercomparison of Atmospheric SO$_{2}$ Measurement Techniques)

  • An intercomparison experiment was implemented to assess the uncertainties and precisions om atmospheric SO$_{2}$ measurement techiques including a pulsed fluorescence (P-F), a diffusion-scrubber /ion chromatography (D-I), and a mist-chamber/ion chromatography (M-I). Each of those three techniques was investigated by researchers at Seoul National University, Yonsei University, and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, respectively. The concentrations of atmospheric SO$_{2}$ were determined concurrently using three independent measurement techniques at the Seoul National University campus, Korea during Nov.22 to Dec.2, 1995. While the results from the P-F and D-I techinques showed the very close agreements (within +-5%) throughout the experiment period, M-I technique showed systematically smaller values (up to 30%) than the other two techniques. Although sources of larger discrepancy between different techniques were mot identified, the lower SO$_{2}$ values of the M-I method may be related to the errors associated with sample collection effciency, mass flow rate measurements, and standardization of ion chromatography.

벨트식 유회수기의 유회수율 데이터의 무차원화 과정에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Nondimensional Analysis for the Recovery Rate of Oil Using a Belt Type Skimmer)

  • Removal of spilled oil over the sea and the river has become one of the urgent problems in these days. Removing oil using mechanical devices by adhesion method is known to be closely related with the problem of estimating the thickness of film remaining on the surface of solid withdrawn from a quiescent liquid. In the present study a series of experimental results are compared with the analytic estimation for the thickness of film remaining on the solid surface using non-dimensional analysis. For the case of pure water both results show the remarkable agreement. However, discrepancy has been found for the case of Bunker C oil and diesel oil. The analytic estimation over-predicts the experimental value for the case of Bunker C oil and under-predicts it for the case of diesel oil. Further study is required to investigate the real situation including a contact angle and the property difference between oil and water.

  • The distributions of mass flow rate and pressure are major factors to deside the performance of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). These factors are affected by channel configuration of air plate. In this paper. structural analysis is performed to investigate deformation of porous media. Two kind of models are suggest for flow analyses. Deformed porous media and undeformed porous media are considered for air plate model. The Numerical flow analysis results with deformed porous media and undeformed porous media had some discrepancy in pressure distribution. The pressure and velocity in a working condition are numerically calculated to predict the performance of the air plates. Distributions of the parameters in the PEMFC are analyzed numerically under steady-state conditions.

칩 마운터용 리니어 모터 스테이지의 열저항 모델링 (Thermal Resistance Modeling of Linear Motor Driven Stages for Chip Mounter Applications)

  • Heat transfer in linear motor driven stages for surface mounting device applications was investigated. A simple one-dimensional thermal resistance model (TRM) was introduced. In order to reduce three-dimensional nature to one-dimensional, a few assumptions and simplifications were employed suitably. A good agreement with a finite element heat transfer analysis in temperature profile was obtained. For validation, the analysis was compared with the measurement with respect to motor driving power. Overall discrepancy was less than 7$^{\circ}C$. The influence of two high thermal resistance parts, insulation sheet and thermal contact between the coil assembly and the mounting plate, was examined through the analysis. Additionally, the thermal resistance analysis was applied to another stage including an internal cooling-air passage, and was found available for this system as well. After validation, the cooling effect was surveyed in terms of motor power, and cooling-air and -water flow rate.
