외부코일형 전자유도결합방전을 이용한 무전극 램프의 광출력 특성 (Light Output Characteristics of an Electrodeless Discharge Lamp Using H-Discharge of External Coil Configuration)

  • This paper investigates the light output characteristics of an electrodeless H-discharge lamp. The existing cylindrical fluorescent lamps were wound around with an induction coil of varying size, and were driven by RF power. The light output and the luminous efficacy were measured according to variations of the induction coil gap and the lamp power, respectively. The experimental results show that the luminous efficacy of the lamp is as much as existing electrodeless lamps and the luminous efficacy of lamps are high between 10W and 20W. Theoretical analyses using computer simulation show that the circuit matching is easier in the external coil configuration than in the internal one, and that the current and the power distributions near the coil are shower in t.

  • Various types of electronic starter have been developed for the general fluorescent lamps with magnetic-type ballasts. However, the FL032/T8 fluorescent lamp requires higher voltage to discharge the lamp. The general starter with two-terminal is not suitable for the FL032/T8 slim-line type fluorescent for its higher discharge voltage. The suitable starter with three terminals have been studied for the FL032/T8 lamp in this paper. The developed starter have better characteristics in view points of the discharge voltage magnitude. We have proposed and designed the three terminals electronic starter. The proposed starter have been experimented and compaired with the other 2-terminal general starters. By the experimental results, we have concluded that the proposed starter is suitable to the FL032/T8 lamp.

  • Discharge of the flat lamp lighting source research are requested very much. For improving brightness, life time, efficiency of flat lamp, plasma diagnosis of the flat lamp lighting source to understand property of lighting source is very important. distance of discharge electrode is 5.5mm and width is 16.5mm, we measured electron temperature and electron density measured with single langmuir probe in flat lamp. we tested the discharge from 100 Torr to 300 Torr pressure. the Pulse is rectangular pulse with frequency 20kHz and Duty ratio 20%. Resultly, electron temperature decreases and electron density increase as increase the gas pressure and electron temperature decreases and electron density increase as increase the voltage.

  • Recently, the environmental problem has received considerable attention. so, many lamps have been developing for environmental requirement and energy efficiency. also, at glow discharge lamp researchers try to reduce energy spending that is power saving lamp. this kind requirement agree with strong points of electrodeless fluorescent lamp has received to now lighting sauce. At low pressure as mTorr I.C.P make high density plasma easily, is good to maintain discharge, has high ionization and does not have failing lighting and losing ability of electron radiation by oxidation and volatilization of electrodes, because this tape does not have electrodes. This point of I.C.P can use at electrodeless fluorescent lamp in this study ICP display elements and Ar, Ne, Kr are researched for optical characteristic. each gas is looked into optical characteristic, also mixed gases is experiment for optical characteristic.

  • This paper presents design and analysis of an HID lamp ballast for a fast turn on characteristics and stable operation. It produces a high open circuit voltage for the ignition and it is controlled to supply effectively the power required to shorten the warm-up period after the breakdown. The lamp modeling by empirical data is presented. It is very effective in the designing of the control loop in the steady-state operating region. A stable operation of the lamp power regulation in the steady state is achieved, which is crucial for the long life time and constant light output. Stability analysis of the system is performed and the results are verified through various simulation results and the hardware experiments.

  • To simulate the characteristics of an High-Intensity Discharge Lamp, this paper uses PSpice circuit model which have been developed from modification of the classical Cassie and Mayr equations. The model is for an High-Intensity Discharge Lamp and compatible to adopt high-frequency electric ballast. This model is correspond to some conditions between the simulated and experimental results.

  • 전극 양단에 안정 콘덴서(Ballast Contenser)를 부착한 냉음극 형광램프와 외관전극의 용량성 결합으로 동작되는 외부전극 형광램프의 전류-전압 방전특성을 조사하였다. 냉음극 형광램프의 전극 양단에 인가되는 전압과 전류의 특성은 전압의 증가로 암전류 영역과 타운젠트 점화방전을 거처서 음극 강하를 통한 전형적인 글로우 방전을 보여준다. 안정 콘덴서에 인가되는 전압을 포함한 전류-전압은 안정 콘덴서에 인가되는 전압이 상대적으로 크기 때문에 냉음극 강하가 나타나지 않고, 글로우 방전 영역에서 전압의 증가에 따라서 전류가 증가한다. 외부전극 자체가 캐패시터인 외부전극 형광램프에서의 전류-전압은 안정 콘덴서를 포함한 냉음극 형광램프와 동일한 특성을 보여준다. 따라서 외부전극 형광램프는 동작 전압에서 글로우 방전의 특성을 갖으며, 외부전극 자체가 안정 콘덴서의 기능을 한다.

  • A Highly efficient Mercury-free Flat Fluorescent Lamp (MFFL) with dielectric barrier Xe gas discharge was developed for an alternative of conventional line-type Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFLs) which shows a wide voltage margin and a stable discharge operation for diffuse glow discharge with an application of a auxiliary electrode. Electro-optic characteristics of the MFFL were examined through the changes in ambient temperature, total pressure and Xe partial pressure. the single cell is expanded into a multi-structured configuration to realize a large sized lamp by a simple repetition of the single cells, and a new driving scheme is proposed for an adaptive brightness control using dual auxiliary electrodes and bi-polar drive scheme. In addition, interesting application of this ultra high luminance flat lamp by the optimization of the gas condition and the pattern of the rear phosphor layer is suggested as a good alternative of daylight lamp source
