  • Recently, the welfare of the elderly and the disabled has been becoming more important. For this reason, many facilities to accommodate them are being constructed in government and public offices. However, the facilities are usually just installed without providing information to the elderly and the disabled. So they are still faced with many difficulties due to the insufficient information on these new facilities. In this study, we implemented the information system of facilities which provides information to the elderly and the disabled through web pages. The objective of this system is to provide visual information about facilities. This system uses web service technology for effective management of data. It is being offered in Incheon's local office. Also, we see a high level of system satisfaction via a survey.

It was accomplished by literature research. The results were as follows. There is disagreements between domestic standards over the clear door opening, the clear hallways and handrails at entrance. And the foreign standards are based on their wheelchair size, ours are founded on it's size which specified only maximum overall dimensions. So ours are seem to be lack of accuracy. Our standard of stairs is in details in comparison with other space components. But ours don't go into details than foreign ones over length of hand-rails, riser etc. And for recommendations denoting minimum and maximum height of various component, it should be preceded the specific survey on limits of reaching ability for the elderly and disabled.

  • This paper presents a behavioral data monitoring system based on WAP(wireless application protocol) service for the 24-hour continuous health state monitoring of the elderly and the disabled. The developed system transmits a character message to the predefined mobile cell phone through SMS service when an emergency state takes place. Simultaneously, the image captured by a CCD camera is transmitted to the server computer installed WAP service program. Then, the user of the cell phone who received he message can access the server and open the transmitted image. • Care of people with severe disabilities requires care throughout their life cycle compared to non-disabled families. For this reason, carers of severely handicapped families are highly likely to have negative feelings throughout the family as well as daily stress. Disabled families also have a high rate of experiencing difficulties between non-disabled children or married couples in life centered on the disabled. In particular, the rapid aging in Korea affects the lives of the elderly disabilities along with the aging of the caregivers. The study explored alternatives to realistic support through the past and present experiences of caregivers with disabilities through qualitative research methods, and derived hopes and expectations for the future as follows.First, after confirming the disability for infants and toddlers with disabilities, information about the support system or system is provided from the rating agency. Second, providing "customized care support" suitable for the type of disability or individual characteristics at the social, political, institutional, and economic levels. Third, the provision of programs for non-disabled children and the provision of healing programs only for families with disabilities or those with disabilities. Fourth, the provision of spaces and programs that provide rest and rest for adults with disabilities. Fifth, the application of a long-term care system for the elderly reflecting the aging age of the disabled and institutionalization of community care for the disabled. The research is meaningful in that it presents discussion points for improving the quality of life of adults and the elderly with disabilities.
