The front-end side members of automobiles, such as the hat-shaped section member, absorb most of the energy during the front-end collision. The side members absorb more energy in collision if they have higher strength and stiffness, and stable folding capacity (local buckling). Using the above characteristics on energy absorption, vehicle should be designed light-weight to improve fuel combustion ratio and reduce exhaust gas. Because of their specific strength and stiffness, CFRP are currently being considered for many structural (aerospace vehicle, automobiles, trains and ships) applications due to their potential for reducing structural weight. Although CFRP members exhibit collapse modes that are significantly different from the collapse modes of metallic materials, numerous studies have shown that CFRP members can be efficient energy absorbing materials. In this study, the CFRP side members were manufactured using a uni-directional prepreg sheet of carbon/Epoxy and axial static collapse tests were performed for the members. The collapse mode and the energy absorption capability of the members were analyzed under the static load.

In this work, We evaluate the performance of eigencanceller which can suppress directional interferences and noise effectively while maintaining specified beam pattern constraints. The constraints and optimal weight vector of eigencanceller vary by using interference and noise or desired signal, interference and noise as array input signal. From the analysis results in the steady state, We show that weight vectors in each case are simplified the form of projection equation that belongs to desired subspace orthogonal to interference subspace and eigencanceller has the better performance than DMI method through mathematical analysis and simulation.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is balanced exercise program according to the supporting surface any affect women's ability to balance high heels. Methods : This study subjects were normal 20 females in their twenties. They were divided into stable supporting surface(n=10), unstable supporting surface(n=10), and they exercised three times a week for 5 weeks. In order to compare the difference of balance, the subjects were measured before and after training. Balance was examined using the balance master 7.0 version systems. Results : 1. There was significant difference values between pre-exercise and post-exercise of unstable surface group on the FORM-EO and FORM EC of MCTSIB and all of Unilateral Stance variables. 2. There was significant difference values between pre-exercise and post-exercise of stable surface group on the mean EPE, mean MXE, and mean DCL of LOS. 3. There was significant difference values between pre-exercise and post-exercise of unstable surface group of the rhythmic weight shift. 4. There was significant difference value in the slow directional control of rhythmic weight shift between groups after exercise. Conclusion : Training on stable supporting surface group and unstable supporting surface group improve balance.

In this paper the buckling and post-buckling behavior of slender bars under self-weight are studied. In order to study the post-buckling behavior of the bar, a geometrically exact formulation for the non-linear analysis of uni-directional structural elements is presented, considering arbitrary load distribution and boundary conditions. From this formulation one obtains a set of first-order coupled nonlinear equations which, together with the boundary conditions at the bar ends, form a two-point boundary value problem. This problem is solved by the simultaneous use of the Runge-Kutta integration scheme and the Newton-Raphson method. By virtue of a continuation algorithm, accurate solutions can be obtained for a variety of stability problems exhibiting either limit point or bifurcational-type buckling. Using this formulation, a detailed parametric analysis is conducted in order to study the buckling and post-buckling behavior of slender bars under self-weight, including the influence of boundary conditions on the stability and large deflection behavior of the bar. In order to evaluate the quality and accuracy of the results, an experimental analysis was conducted considering a clamped-free thin-walled metal bar. As this kind of structure presents a high index of slenderness, its answers could be affected by the introduction of conventional sensors. In this paper, an experimental methodology was developed, allowing the measurement of static or dynamic displacements without making contact with the structure, using digital image processing techniques. The proposed experimental procedure can be used to a wide class of problems involving large deflections and deformations. The experimental buckling and post-buckling behavior compared favorably with the theoretical and numerical results.

Adaptive array is using the array of antenna elements spatially and its output is the sum of each antenna elements output signal which is multiplied by the controlled weight coefficients corresponding to each elements. In this paper, for the BPSK and BFSK signals with S/I=2, S/N=10 is applied to the linear array antenna using the LMS & the Kalman filter algorithm. For the 4 elements equidistance linear array antenna system LMS and Kalman filter algorithm was used as the adaptive instruction principles and the application results to the constant amplitude envelope signals such as BPSK or BFSK can be seen that the computer simulation results are very fast in the convergence characteristics of directional patterns and the signal following characteristics.

The conventional discrete-ordinates method (DOM) is modified and developed for the analysis of two-dimensional axisymmetric cylindrical enclosure with curved wall. The objective of the present work is to extend the capability of the conventional DOM into a general axisymmetric geometry like nozzle-shaped enclosure, by adopting the arbitrary control angle as was done in the finite-volume method (FVM), while keeping the same two-dimensional solution procedure as in the conventional DOM. The present method is validated by applying it to three different benchmark problems of axisymmetric enclosure containing absorbing, emitting and scattering medium. Results presented in this work not only support the solution accuracy, but also moderate efficiency in the numerical calculation of axisymmetric radiation problem.
A 2-year-old, spayed female, American shorthair cat presented with acute weight loss, tachypnea, and dyspnea. The cat had grade V holosystolic murmur and systemic hypotension. Echocardiography showed a 9 mm defect in the ventricular septum, left-to-right dominant bi-directional shunt, right ventricular hypertrophy, pulmonary stenosis, pulmonary hypertension, and overriding aorta. The cat was diagnosed with a Tetralogy of Fallot. The cat was treated with furosemide, pimobendan, ramipril, and sildenafil. Treatment reduced pulmonary infiltration, pulmonary vessel enlargement, and main pulmonary artery bulging. However, right-to-left flow increased over time and right ventricular outflow tract velocity was elevated. Currently, the patient has maintained an improved state for 1 year. This case report described a severe inherited feline Tetralogy of Fallot case that was successfully managed for a long time.

Beam-forming method based on the estimated channel information at the base station degrade the performance mismatching directional vector in case of systems which Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) center frequency of uplink and downlink are different. Also blind estimation technique which is to obtain directional vector of reverse link through received signal has disadvantage of hardware complexity increase. To solve these problems, in present paper, a smart antenna algorithm which is to improve the beam-forming complexity increase due to user number by appling the spatial fourier transform to be able to beam- forming toward a wanted direction through adjusting a obtained uplink weight function by estimating Angle-of-Arrival (AoA) to the competable form at the downlink is proposed. The proposed algorithm is integrated to the CDMA downlink transmitter and simulations are performed to confirm the performance as frame error rate at the receiver. As a result, the beam forming effect is confirmed and the performance gain with the proposed algorithm is comparable to ordinary smart antenna system.
