  • The effect of thickness on the microstructure and the mechanical properties of centrifugal cast 625 was investigated. Centrifugal cast 625 with various thickness of 10, 17 and 50mm showed partially columnar grained structure 8, 12.3 and 18.5mm respectively from the outer surface. Secondary dendrite arm spacing in the columnar grains slightly increased with increasing casting thickness. Tensile strength of the columnar region was similar regardless of casting thickness. Solidification behavior of the columnar grained region is similar to that of directional solidification, thus solidification rate in the centrifugal cast tube was extrapolated from the secondary dendrite arm spacing data of the directionally solidified material. The equiax grained region formed interior of the thick castings. The tensile strength of the equiaxed region showed the average value of the columnar region which is presumably originated from the grain structure rather than secondary dendrite arm spacing.

  • Microstructure and characteristics of the SiCp/Al-4.5wt%Cu-1wt%Mg composites fabricated by the combination of the compocasting and the pressurized continuous casting process, which is one of the processes to decrease the limitations of the size, and shops of the products, are investigated. The main results are as follows: 1) the SiCp/Al alloy matrix composites can be made continuously 2) as the amount of SiCp addition increases; (1) the degree of directional solidification of matrix structure decreases, and that of SiCp dispersion improves, (2) wear resistance improves, and especially these composites show the excellent wear resistance under the high sliding speed and high final load condition, (3) wear mechanism of these composites is changed from adhesive wear into abrasive wear, and the tendency of that becomes outstanding with increasing sliding speed.

  • Directional solidification of Al-Ti peritetic alloys was carried out using Upward Continuous Casting Process. The morphology of a solid-liquid interface and solidification microstructures were investigated under various crystal growing conditions. The experimental results were compared with those attained by the Bridgman method. The cell spacing of the Al-Ti peritetic alloys and the primary dendrite arm spacing of the Al-Ti peritetic alloys decreased with an increase in pulling speed. The primary ${\beta}$ phase of the Al-Cr and Al-Ti peritectic alloys did not appear in solidification microstructures because of the depleted solute contents in the melt ahead of the solid-liquid interface.

  • This paper is the study for the directional solidification of the ingot through the thermal analysis simulation and structural change of casting furnace. The activation analysis of metal impurities were also detected the total number of 10 different metals, but the concentration distribution showed no significant positional deviations in the same position from the top to the bottom. With the results of thermal analysis simulation, the silicon as a whole has reached the melting temperature as the retention time 80 min. The best cooling conditions showed at the upper cooling temperature $1,400^{\circ}C$ and cooling time 60min. The fabricated wafers showed the superior etching result at the grain boundary than that of existing commercial wafers.

  • The possibility of using bulk talc as molding material was reviewed and tested with the measurement of thermal properties and computer simulations. The measured thermal conductivity and heat diffusivity($k{\rho}c$) of talc were $2.4W/m^{\circ}C$ and $6.6{\times}10^6J^2/m^4^{\circ}C^2s$, respectively. Thermal properties of talc could be ranked between those of sand mold and iron mold. Talc transforms into cristobalite and enstatite at $910^{\circ}C$, During the transformation volume and structure change, cracks appear on the surface and distortion occurs. Therefore talc can be used for molding material below $910^{\circ}C$ if carefully treated. Computer simulation was carried out to test whether talc insert could promote directional solidification in sand mold and iron mold. In sand mold, it was possible to achieve directional solidification of thin plate casting with the length to thickness ratio of 15, if both iron insert and talc insert were used. In iron mold, it was possible to achieve directional solidification only with talc insert.

  • Webcasting which is the integration of broadcasting and communications, is a prominent service which has changed to involve bi-directional interactions between a user and a system from uni-directional communication. However almost webcasting are operating by uni-direction between living and recording currently so learners have to hear and watch a contents without their suggestion. Therefore learners can not get interaction and feedback that it may be obtain on face to face class, instructor can not ensure concentration and location of student in webcasting. This paper presents a design and development of the webcasting system based on real-time interaction which provides an environment of real-time communication between casting and learner, a fixing of students' location in order to raise a fidelity and a concentration.

  • A new analysis method was proposed, where the even . odd-mode theory for a symmetrical coupled-line directional coupler was applied to a transformer-type directional coupler. In addition, the tap-offs were analyzed by the proposed theory, which are widely used in CATV (Cable Television), DBS (Direct Broad- casting Satellite), CS (Communication Satellite) systems. By comparing the calculation results to the measured ones using the even . odd-mode reflection coefficients only, the validity of the proposed analysis method was confirmed. Then, the tap-off has been broadened from 5 MHz over 4,000 MHz by adopting the proposed theory.

  • Recently, the lETF NEMO working group on network mobility is standardizing a basic support for moving networks. We need a handover scheme for achieving the performance of transparency during the movement of mobile routers in nested mobile networks. But existing handover schemes for a mobile host are not suitable for network mobility because the packet transmission delay and traffic increase during mobile router's handover in nested mobile networks. Therefore, we propose a new seamless handover scheme using the bi-casting based on Mobile IPv6 for nested mobile networks in this paper. Compared with the handover schemes using bi-directional edge tunneling for host mobility support on simulation. And, the results show that the proposed handover scheme reduces the packet delay during a mobile router changes the point of attachment in nested mobile networks.

  • Modern city have had a lot of high-rise building in high standards and multi-level performance. Using of city space reach better stages by using integration. These skyscraper have increased working load on ground. that building is efficiently designed for that soil capacity is well applied. With material side, big size pile, high strength concrete and high strength steel is used for that getting enough lobby space and resisting load increased of high-rise building. limit load test and load transmitted test can make soil capacity optimized. By the way, method of measuring pile capacity is more advanced and bigger. pile type applied by high rise building have underground excavation space, also reflect regional soil property and have some fact reviewed. A lot of high rise building recently is built as land mark in Seoul, Busan and Incheon. about method of measuring capacity of foundation pile, example of construction field is compared and reviewed.
