유속 및 각도 측정을 위한 인공 옆줄 센서 개발 (Development of Artificial Lateral Line Sensor for Flow Velocity and Angle Measurements)

  • To operate an underwater robot in an environment with fluid flow, it is necessary to recognize the speed and direction of the fluid and implement motion control based on these characteristics. Fish have a lateral line that performs this function. In this study, to develop an artificial lateral line sensor that mimics a fish, we developed a method to measure the flow speed and the incident angle of the fluid using a pressure sensor. Several experiments were conducted, and based on the results, the tendency according to the change in the flow speed and the incident angle of the fluid was confirmed. It is believed that additional research can aid in the development of an artificial lateral line sensor.

부분 외곽선 정보를 이용한 이동물체의 추척 알고리즘 (A Study on Tracking Algorithm for Moving Object Using Partial Boundary Line Information)

  • 본 연구에서는 배경과 구분되는 이동물체를 추적하기 위한 방법으로 부분 외곽선 정보를 이용한 이동물체 추적 알고리즘을 제안하였다. 이동물체의 추적은 이동물체의 외곽선을 검출한 다음 외곽선 정보를 이동물체의 특징으로 정하여 추적하는 알고리즘을 사용하였다. 먼저 이동물체 외곽선 정보를 이용하여 연속한 동영상 입력에 대하여 속 BMA(Block Matching Algorithm)을 이용하여 움직임 벡터를 추출하고 움직임 벡테를 기초로 이동물체를 추출한다. 다음은 이동물체 초기 특징 벡테 생성단계로서 이동물체에 대한 외곽선을 추출한다. 이동물체의 외곽선 영역 중 상하좌우의 외곽선 일부분을 특징벡터로 정한다. 다음은 추적단계로 이전 프레임에서 얻은 특징벡터를 이용하여 현재 프레임에서 이동물체의 추적을 수행하였다. 제안된 알고리즘에 대하여 실제영상을 가지고 이동물체추적 모의 실험을 수행한 결과 기존 능동 윤곽선 추적알고리즘은 물체 외곽선 전체를 추적하기 때문에 물체의 외곽선 길이에 따라 처리시간이 변화하지만 제안된 알고리즘은 이동물체의 외곽선 영역을 특징정보로 하여 추적하기 때문에 추적연산이 간단하였다. 제안된 이동물체 추적알고리즘 중 이동벡터를 추출하는 BMA 연산은 기존 알고리즘 보다 연산량이 약 39%감소였으며, 상하 좌우 외곽선 정보를 이용하여 이동물체를 추적한 결과 추적오차는 특징벡터의 크기가 [$10{\times}5$]일 때 검색오차가 2화소 이하로 양호하게 나타났다. 또한 기본 능동 윤ㅅ곽선 축적알고리즘은 물체 외곽선 크기에 따른 처리시간이 변화하지만 제안된 알고리즘은 특징벡터의 크기가 일정하기 때문에 동일한 처리시간이 필요하였다.

기술도해 생성을 위한 가시화 데이터 은선 제거 알고리즘 (Hidden Line Removal for Technical Illustration Based on Visualization Data)

  • Hidden line removal(HLR) algorithms can be devised either in the image space or in the object space. This paper describes a hidden line removal algorithm in the object space specifically for the CAD viewer data. The approach is based on the Appel's 'Quantitative Invisibility' algorithm and fundamental concept of 'back face culling'. Input data considered in this algorithm can be distinguished from those considered for HLR algorithm in general. The original QI algorithm can be applied for the polyhedron models. During preprocessing step of our proposed algorithm, the self intersecting surfaces in the view direction are divided along the silhouette curves so that the QI algorithm can be applied. By this way the algorithm can be used for any triangulated freeform surfaces. A major advantage of this algorithm is the applicability to general CAD models and surface-based visualization data.

Palatal en-masse retraction of segmented maxillary anterior teeth: A finite element study

  • Objective: The aim of this finite element study was to clarify the mechanics of tooth movement in palatal en-masse retraction of segmented maxillary anterior teeth by using anchor screws and lever arms. Methods: A three-dimensional finite element method was used to simulate overall orthodontic tooth movements. The line of action of the force was varied by changing both the lever arm height and anchor screw position. Results: When the line of action of the force passed through the center of resistance (CR), the anterior teeth showed translation. However, when the line of action was not perpendicular to the long axis of the anterior teeth, the anterior teeth moved bodily with an unexpected intrusion even though the force was transmitted horizontally. To move the anterior teeth bodily without intrusion and extrusion, a downward force passing through the CR was necessary. When the line of action of the force passed apical to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped counterclockwise during retraction, and when the line of action of the force passed coronal to the CR, the anterior teeth tipped clockwise during retraction. Conclusions: The movement pattern of the anterior teeth changed depending on the combination of lever arm height and anchor screw position. However, this pattern may be unpredictable in clinical settings because the movement direction is not always equal to the force direction.

MEASUREMENT OF NUCLEAR FUEL ROD DEFORMATION USING AN IMAGE PROCESSING TECHNIQUE

  • In this paper, a deformation measurement technology for nuclear fuel rods is proposed. The deformation measurement system includes a high-definition CMOS image sensor, a lens, a semiconductor laser line beam marker, and optical and mechanical accessories. The basic idea of the proposed deformation measurement system is to illuminate the outer surface of a fuel rod with a collimated laser line beam at an angle of 45 degrees or higher. For this method, it is assumed that a nuclear fuel rod and the optical axis of the image sensor for observing the rod are vertically composed. The relative motion of the fuel rod in the horizontal direction causes the illuminated laser line beam to move vertically along the surface of the fuel rod. The resulting change of the laser line beam position on the surface of the fuel rod is imaged as a parabolic beam in the high-definition CMOS image sensor. An ellipse model is then extracted from the parabolic beam pattern. The center coordinates of the ellipse model are taken as the feature of the deformed fuel rod. The vertical offset of the feature point of the nuclear fuel rod is derived based on the displacement of the offset in the horizontal direction. Based on the experimental results for a nuclear fuel rod sample with a formation of surface crud, an inspection resolution of 50 ${\mu}m$ is achieved using the proposed method. In terms of the degree of precision, this inspection resolution is an improvement of more than 300% from a 150 ${\mu}m$ resolution, which is the conventional measurement criteria required for the deformation of neutron irradiated fuel rods.

겨울철 동해상의 대상수렴운과 그 주위의 대류운에 관한 WRF 수치모의 연구 (WRF Numerical Study on the Convergent Cloud Band and Its Neighbouring Convective Clouds)

  • This study analyzed atmospheric conditions for the convergent cloud band (Cu-Cb line) in developing stage and its neighbouring convections formed over the East Sea on 1 February 2012, by using synoptic, satellites data, and WRF numerical simulation output of high resolution. In both satellite images and the WRF numerical simulation outputs, the Cu-Cb line that stretched out toward northwest-southeast was shown in the East Sea, and cloud lines of the L mode were aligned in accordance with the prevailing surface wind direction. However, those of the T mode were aligned in the direction of NE-SW, which was nearly perpendicular direction to the surface winds. The directions of the wind shear vectors connecting top winds and bottom winds of the moist layers of the L mode and the T mode were identical with those of the cloud lines of L mode and T mode, respectively. From the WRF simulation convection circulations with a convergence in the lower layer of atmosphere and a divergence above 1.5 km ASL (Above Sea Level) were identified in the Cu-Cb line. A series of small sized vortexes (maximum vortex: $320{\times}10^{-5}s^{-1}$) of meso-${\gamma}$-scale formed by convergences was found along the Cu-Cb lines, suggesting that Cu-Cb lines, consisting of numerous convective clouds, were closely associated with a series of the small vortexes. There was an absolute unstable layer (${\partial}{\theta}/{\partial}z$ < 0) between sfc and ~0.3 km ASL, and a stable layer (${\partial}{\theta}/{\partial}z$ > 0) above ~2 km ASL over the Cu-Cb line and cloud zones. Not only convectively unstable layers (${\partial}{\theta}_e/{\partial}z$ < 0) but also neutral layers (${\partial}{\theta}_e/{\partial}z{\approx}=0$) in the lower atmosphere (sfc~1.5 km ASL) were scattered around over the cloud zones. Particularly, for the Cu-Cb line there were convectively unstable layers in the surface layer, and neutral layers (${\partial}{\theta}_e/{\partial}z{\approx}=0$) between 0.2 and ~1.5 km ASL over near the center of the Cu-Cb line, and the neutralization of unstable layers came from the release of convective instability.

  • In hot pressed wood of Pseudotsuga menziesii compressed to 0 - 50 percent at temperature 60 - $180^{\circ}C$, relative humidity conditions affecting dynamic Young's modulus of elasticity and internal friction were investigated. The results obtained are summarized as follows: Moisture absorption of the hot pressed wood decreased with increasing press temperature, but there was no effect on the amount of compression. Thickness swelling dereased with increasing press temperature, and increased with increasing amount of compression. In general, dynamic Young's modulus of elasticity showed a straight line with increasing specific gravity of specimens. Dynamic Young's modulus of elasticity decreased with increasing moisture content, but internal friction increased with increasing amount of moisture content. Dynamic Young's modulus of R specimens pressed in the radial direction showed hight values than T specimens pressed in the tangential direction.

신뢰성 높은 위치 인식을 위하여 방향을 고려한 확률적 스캔 매칭 기법 (Direction Augmented Probabilistic Scan Matching for Reliable Localization)

  • The scan matching is widely used in localization and mapping of mobile robots. This paper presents a probabilistic scan matching method. To improve the performance of the scan matching, a direction of data point is incorporated into the scan matching. The direction of data point is calculated using the line fitted by the neighborhood data. Owing to the incorporation, the performance of the matching was improved. The number of iterations in the scan matching decreased, and the tolerance against a high rotation between scans increased. Based on real data of a laser range finder, experiments verified the performance of the proposed direction augmented probabilistic scan matching algorithm.

선상가열한 TMCP 및 Normalizing 강재의 열변형에 관한 연구 (A study on the Thermal Deformation of Line Heated TMCP and Normalizing Steel)

  • The TMCP steel has expanded in the marine structure during manufacturing process because of its excellent weld-ability and impact toughness. In the case of merchant ships, coverage of TMCP steel has been used widely on over DH36 Classifications material. The line heating process is applied to the outer surface of the steel plate for the shipbuilding. In this study, We compared between TMCP and normalizing steel for shipbuilding by analyzing some basic data through performing the natural cooling after the line heating. The experimental results show the angular misalignment changes in line heating. Heated surface of normalizing steel material expanded to $-0.3^{\circ}$ and reduced to $+0.2^{\circ}$ after cooling. And during cooling at $194^{\circ}C$ for 1,500 seconds, Angular Misalignment began from - direction to + direction, passed the critical point to the default at 2,200 seconds and did not take place any more at $103^{\circ}C$ after the 2,700 seconds. Angular Misalignment results of TMCP steels and Normalizing steel material show same angular misalignment lasted 1,200 seconds, TMCP steel has given more expansion and contraction angle which is $0.2^{\circ}$ than that of the Normalizing steel. Length difference between expansion and contraction is about 0.3 mm.

  • Hair cut is one of the best useful technical tool for hair styling. In this study using the rule of the layers of hair design, balanced for visual art, perceptual ability and form created by the principles of analysis and offer hair cuts and hair design of the representation of regions and even hair design as the basis of a student of Hair Beauty and all the people working in the field can create a variety of hair design puts the purpose to establish a basis. The result of this study can be outline as follows: First, the step line and the movement of the relationship between the law of the layers above and below the length of the same layer techniques, the same consists of a vertical cross-section of the overall round shape of the cut same layer is created and the appropriate volume and movement, the movement of low-layer round a little bit more feeling and expression is used when you want. High-layer used to want to move a lot of light and could see that.
