To avoid imaging artifacts and interpretation mistakes, an improvement of the uniformity in gamma camera systems is a very important point. We can expect excellent uniformity using cadmium zinc telluride (CZT) photon counting detector (PCD) because of the direct conversion of the gamma rays energy into electrons. In addition, the uniformity performance such as integral uniformity (IU), differential uniformity (DU), scatter fraction (SF), and contrast-to-noise ratio (CNR) varies according to the energy window setting. In this study, we compared a PCD and conventional scintillation detector with respect to the energy windows (5%, 10%, 15%, and 20%) using a $^{99m}Tc$ gamma source with a Geant4 Application for Tomography Emission simulation tool. The gamma camera systems used in this work are a CZT PCD and NaI(Tl) conventional scintillation detector with a 1-mm thickness. According to the results, although the IU and DU results were improved with the energy window, the SF and CNR results deteriorated with the energy window. In particular, the uniformity for the PCD was higher than that of the conventional scintillation detector in all cases. In conclusion, our results demonstrated that the uniformity of the CZT PCD was higher than that of the conventional scintillation detector.
Dimethyl ether (DME) is a new clean fuel as an environmentally-benign energy resource. DME can be manufactured from various energy sources including natural gas, coal, and biomass. In addition to its environmentally friendly properties, DME has similar characteristics to those of LPG. The aim of this article is to represent the development of new DME process with KOGAS's own technologies. KOGAS has investigated and developed new innovative DME synthesis process from synthesis gas in gaseous phase fixed bed reactor. DME has been traditionally produced by the dehydration of methanol which is produced from syngas, a product of natural gas reforming. This traditional process is thus called the two-step method of preparing DME. However, DME can also be manufactured directly from syngas (single-step). The single-step method needs only one reactor for the synthesis of DME, instead of two for the two-step process. It can also alleviate the thermodynamic limitations associated with the synthesis of methanol, by converting the produced methanol into DME, thereby potentially enhancing the overall conversion of syngas into DME. KOGAS had launched the 10 ton/day DME demonstration plant project in 2004 at Incheon KOGAS LNG terminal. In the mid of 2008, KOGAS had finished the construction of this plant and has successively finished the demonstration plant operation. And since 2008, we have established the basic design of commercial plant which can produce 3,000 ton/day DME.

Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems utilizing direct conversion receiver suffer from frequency selective (FS) and frequency independent (FI) phase and gain imbalances caused by imperfect local oscillator and low pass filter. In this paper, we analyze the impacts of the transmit/receive IQ imbalances on the system and propose the estimation and compensation schemes for those imbalances. The preamble signals coded by Alamouti scheme in the frequency domain could be used in the estimation of relatively large IQ imbalances with FS and FI characteristics and the estimation results are used for the compensation of distortions caused by the FI and FS IQ imbalances. The optimal maximum likelihood (ML) receiver or suboptimal ordered successive interference cancallation (OSIC) receiver utilizing the estimation results show symbol error rate (SER) performance improvement compared to zero-forcing (ZF) technique due to diversity gain inherent in the frequency domain IQ imbalances combined with the frequency selective channels.

The electrical properties of stabilized amorphous selenium typical of the material used in direct conversion x-ray imaging devices are reported. Carrier mobility was measured using time-of-flight (TOF) measurements to investigate the transport properties of holes and electrons in stabilized a-Se film. A laser beam with pulse duration of 5 ns and wavelength of 350nm was illuminated on the surface of a-Se with thickness of 400 $\mu\textrm{m}$. The photo induced signals of a-Se film as a function of time were measured. The measured transit times of hole and electron were about 8.73${\mu}\textrm{s}$ and 229.17${\mu}\textrm{s}$, respectively. The hole and electron drift mobilities decreases with increase of electric field up to 4V/$\mu\textrm{m}$. Above 4V/$\mu\textrm{m}$, the measured drift mobilities exhibited no observable dependence with respect to electric field. The experimental results showed that the hole and electron drifting mobility were 0.04584 $\textrm{cm}^2$ V$\^$-1/s$\^$-1/ sand 0.00174 $\textrm{cm}^2$V$\^$-1/s$\^$-1/ at 10 V/$\mu\textrm{m}$.
The organic acids in 3 kinds of medicinal herbal extracts were screened and compared each other according to their organic acid contents by an efficient gas chromatographic method. It involves solid-phase extraction of organic acids using Chromosorb P with subsequent conversion to stable tert-butyldimethysilyl derivatives for the direct analysis by capillary column gas chromatography and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Total of 24 organic acids were reproducibly identified from 3 kinds of herbal extracts. When the GC profiles were simplified to their retention index spectra, characteristic patterns were obtained for each herb sample. As expected, three kinds of herbal extracts showed three distinct patterns.
Todays enterprise networks are composed of multiple types of interconnected networks.Enterprise Networks interoperability between these technologies is needed. To enable interworking, it is necessary to be able to map between the relevant object models and to build on this to provide a mechanism to handle protocol conversion on the domain boundaries. In this paper, we describe a gateway between management application in the CORBA domain and agent in the SNMP domain and various integration methods. The main function of the gateway is to dynamically convert the method invocations on object reference in CORBA domain to SNMP messages for MIB entries at remote agents, We also present translation methods from SNMP MIB to CORBA IDL using Direct translation and Abstract translation. JIDM algorithm has no notion of containment and inheritance relationships between object classes and is difficult to understanding between management attribute and SNMP Action attribute. Abstract translation over come these problems.New superclasses define for common attributes and define explicit CORBA method for SNMP Action. It is a methodology for obtaining the CORBA-compliant management agents from already existing SNMP agents.

Methane, the major constituent of natural gas, had been converted to higher hydrocarbons by microwave and radio-frequency plasma in vacuum condition. Methane had been activated to plasma by suppling high energy then converted to ethane, ethylene, acetylene. The direct conversion process of methane had produced few by-products and demanded low-energy. The plasma sources were microwave and radio-frequency. Two types of reactor had been used to activate methane. One is common single tubular-type reactor and the other is series coil-type reactor which used for the first time in this study. To produce more C2 products, methane had been converted by a plasma and catalyst. The results of this study could be used to study mechanism of plasma reaction of methane, design the plant-scale reactor.

The six-port correlator is comprised of a power divider and three hybrid couplers. In this paper, the six-port phase correlator using three-arm branch $90^{\circ}$ hybrid coupler were designed with the center frequency of 11.85 GHz. The performances for the six-port phase correlator was analyzed by using ADS2003A tool. Three-arm six-port phase correlator provides more wide dynamic frequency range than that of six-port using the conventional hybrid coupler in range of circa five times, which is range of 10.8 to 12.3GHz (1.5 GHz). The phase errors among the output ports of the six-port phase correlator are below $5^{\circ}$. The six-port Phase correlator was fabricated to evaluate the Performance of the proposed six-port phase correlator. The measured performance of the six-port phase correlator shows the good accordance with the simulation data.
The complexes M(CO)4-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (M=Cr 2a, Mo 2b, W 2c) have been prepared in good yields from readily available bis-diphenylphosphino-o-carboranyl ligand, closo-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (1), by direct reaction with Group Ⅵ metal carbonyls. The infrared spectra of the complexes indicate that there is an octahedral disposition of chelate bis-diphenylphosphino-o-carboranyl ligand around the metal atom. The crystal structure of 2a was determined by X-ray diffraction. Complex 2a crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/n with cell parameters a = 12.2360(7), b = 17.156(1), c = 16.2040(6) Å, V = 3354.1(3) Å3, and Z =4. Of the reflections measured a total of 2514 unique reflections with F2 > 3σ(F2) was used during subsequent structure refinement. Refinement converged to R1 = 0.066 and R2 = 0.071. Structural studies showed that the chromium atom had a slightly distorted pseudo-octahedral configuration about the metal center with two phosphine groups of o-carborane occupying the equatorial plane cis-orientation to each other. These metal carbonyl complexes are rapidly converted to the corresponding metal carbene complexes, [(CO)3M=C(OCH3)(CH3)]-1,2-(PPh2)2-1,2-C2B10H10 (M= Cr 3a, Mo 3b, W 3c), via alkylation with methyllithium followed by O-methylation with CF3SO3CH3.

Additive manufacturing (AM) is an alternative metal fabrication technology. The outstanding advantage of AM (3D-printing, direct manufacturing), is the ability to form shapes that cannot be formed with any other traditional technology. 3D-printing began as a new method of prototyping in plastics. Nowadays, AM in metals allows to realize not only net-shape geometry, but also high fatigue strength and corrosion resistant parts. This success of AM in metals enables new applications of the technology in important fields, such as production of medical implants. The 3D-printing of medical implants is an extremely rapidly developing application. The success of this development lies in the fact that patient-specific implants can promote patient recovery, as often it is the only alternative to amputation. The production of AM implants provides a relatively fast and effective solution for complex surgical cases. However, there are still numerous challenging open issues in medical 3D-printing. The goal of the current research review is to explain the whole technological and design chain of bio-medical bone implant production from the computed tomography that is performed by the surgeon, to conversion to a computer aided drawing file, to production of implants, including the necessary post-processing procedures and certification. The current work presents examples that were produced by joint work of Polygon Medical Engineering, Russia and by TechMed, the AM Center of Israel Institute of Metals. Polygon provided 3D-planning and 3D-modelling specifically for the implants production. TechMed were in charge of the optimization of models and they manufactured the implants by Electron-Beam Melting ($EBM^{(R)}$), using an Arcam $EBM^{(R)}$ A2X machine.
