  • The performance of direct-sequence spread spectrum(DS-SS) receiver may be enhanced by using the digital whitening filter. In this paper, the hard limited feedback whitening filter that whiten the interference and noise alone is proposed to obtain the additional resistance to narrowband interference. The recursive solution for the calculation of tap weights is presented and the expression for SNR and BER is derived and compared with the conventional digital whitening filter. As the result of computer simulation it is proved that the error performance is improved considerably.

  • In this paper, we are performance analysis of IEEE 802.15.4b LR-WAPN(Low-Rate Wireless Personal Area Network; Zigbee) system noncoherent receivers at 915MHz under Jamming. IEEE 802.15.4b concerns itself with devices at 915MHz, which employ a higher data rate of up to 250 kbps, and which use O-QPSK(Offset Quradrature Phase Shift Keying modulation with DSSS(Direct Sequence Spread Spectrum). Communication between devices can still be hampered by the presence of interferers outside the network, whether the interference be intentional or not. Hence the receivers can not have stable receiving condition due to worse BER. To solve this problem, we present a mere stabilized receiver system of using noncoherent detection. In this paper, we look instead at the effect of jamming, i.e. intentional interference, on the BER performance of IEEE 802.15.4 devices.

  • In this paper, we propose a fast code acquisition method that can reduce drastically the mean acquisition time of the direct sequence spread spectrum (DS-SS) system by using and integrated search and verification (ISV) scheme. The proposed method performs simultaneously the search and verification processes at every search cell, through storing sufficiently long signal samples enough to perform the verification process form the previously received samples. We analyze and acquisition performance in the case of Gaussian channel to evaluate theacquisition perfomrance of the proposed method. From the simple numericl analysis result, we have shown that the acquisition performance of the proposed method is better than that of the conventional serial search method, and the performance improvement becomes more prominent as the channel environment becomes degraded.

  • In this paper, the average probability of bit error of direct sequence spread spectrum multiple access (DS/SSMA) communication system is derived over frequency-selective rician fading channels with Gaussian and impulsive noise. Multiple access interference due to K asynchronous users transmitting simultaneously is computed using the characteristic function method, and compared with Gaussian approximation.

  • This paper presents the design and implementation of a baseband Modem using DSP that supports a wireless LAN. It is implemented with DSP and D/A and A/D Converters in baseband and tested without using IF and RF modules. In this paper, we have used the matched filler and DLL(delay lock loop) for synchronization. And the matched filter and the carrier recovery are directly connected. Therefore, the proposed architecture is very simple and the operation of DSP becomes fast.

  • A new analytic framework based on a linear algebra approach is proposed for examining the performance of a direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) slotted ALOHA wireless communication network systems with delay capture. The discrete-time Markov chain model has been introduced to account for the effect of randomized time of arrival (TOA) at the central receiver and determine the evolution of the finite population network performance in a single-hop environment. The proposed linear algebra approach applied to the given Markov problem requires only computing the eigenvector ${\prod}$ of the state transition matrix and then normalizing it to have the sum of its entries equal to 1. MATLAB computation results show that systems employing discrete TOA randomization and delay capture significantly improves throughput-delay performance and the employed analysis approach is quite easily and staightforwardly applicable to the current analysis problem.

  • in this paper, we analyzed CDD-DLL code tracking loop for tracking of direct-sequence spread-spectrum signals in a multipath fading channel. The multipath fading channel is modeled as two-ray rayleigh fading channel which is well applicable in a land mobile communication environments. We use trackin jitter variance and mean-time-to-lose-lick as performance measures. From the numerical resutls, it is shown that the effect of multipath fading decreases as SNR/bit increases. Also it is shown that CDD-DLL provides superior jitter performance compared with noncoherent DLL and jitter performance improvement is more significant for a two-ray rayleigh fading channel than an AWGN channel.

  • In this paper, we compare the bit-error-rate performance of the fast-frequency-hopped spread-spectrum multiple-access (FFH/SSMA) and direct-sequence code-division multiple access (DS/CDMA) systems in a Rician fading channel. Each system has a same data rate, bandwidth and transmits over a Rician fading channel. The results illustrate tradoffs in performance between the FFH/SSMA and DS/CDMA systems as a function of the parameters such as average signal to noise ratio and processing gain. The performance of the FFH/SSMA system is shown to be less sensitive to the change of fading environments, while the change of processing gain and average signal to noise ratio gives considerable affect to the FFH/SSMA system compared with the DS/CDMA system. Without respect to the change of system parameters, for most of Rician fading channels (except non-fading channel), FFH/SSMA system gives better performance than DS/CDMA system in BBR < 10$\^$-3/.
