  • In the 4th industrial revolution, changes in the technological paradigm have had a direct impact on the maintenance system of ships. The 2-stroke low speed engine system integrates with the core equipment required for propulsive power. The Condition Based Management (CBM) is defined as a technology that predictive maintenance methods in existing calender-based or running time based maintenance systems by monitoring the condition of machinery and diagnosis/prognosis failures. In this study, we have established a framework for CBM technology development on our own, and are engaged in engineering-based failure analysis, data development and management, data feature analysis and pre-processing, and verified the reliability of failure mode DB using LSTM algorithms. We developed various simulated failure mode scenarios for 2-stroke low speed engine and researched to produce data on onshore basis test_beds. The analysis and pre-processing of normal and abnormal status data acquired through failure mode simulation experiment used various Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) techniques to feature extract not only data on the performance and efficiency of 2-stroke low speed engine but also key feature data using multivariate statistical analysis. In addition, by developing an LSTM classification algorithm, we tried to verify the reliability of various failure mode data with time-series characteristics.

A Study on Intention to Adopt Digital Payment Systems in India: Impact of COVID-19 Pandemic

  • Digitalization and digital transformations have metamorphized the face of Financial Inclusion globally, more so, in cash obsessed economies like India. The purpose of our study is to empirically analyze the users' intention to adopt digital payment systems, post Demonetisation, during the COVID-19 pandemic in India. The conceptual framework for the study is based on the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) adoption model with added operationalized constructs of Perceived Risk and Stickiness to use Cash. A total of 326 respondents were surveyed using a pre-tested questionnaire during the Nationwide Lockdown 3.0 in India. These responses were analyzed using Partial Least Squares - Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. The findings of the study revealed that performance expectancy and facilitating conditions directly influence the intention of individuals to use digital payment systems, whereas the effect of perceived ease of use on digital payment systems is mediated through the attitude towards the digital payment systems during COVID-19 pandemic situation. Implications of the proposed adoption model are discussed. This will enable the other developing economies to formulate a digital ecosystem, that is here to stay even after the pandemic.

삼상제어력유기 입상 제어회로의 디지털화 (Digitalization of the phase Control Circuit of a three-phase Controlled Rectifier)

  • A complete design of a new digital control circuit for a three-phase controlled rectifier is presented. The circuit consists of a gating signal generating ROM, down counter and adder. Proposed scheme is simple and quite adequate to the microprocessor-based digitally controlled systems. The basic principle and operation characteristics of the circuit are described and experimental-results show good dynamic performance. Synchronization problem with noisy reference is also discussed. The basic phylosophy developed can be extended to the other phase control system, e.g., cycloconverters, ac voltoge controllers, etc.

Key Drivers of Operational Performance of E-commerce Distribution Service Providers in Thailand

  • Purpose: Due to the rapid growth of e-commerce in Thailand, the operational excellence of distribution service providers has been elevated. Thus, this research investigated the key drivers of operational performance of e-commerce distributors in Thailand. The research contains key variables: the analytics capabilities of an organization, supply chain disruption orientation, innovation capability, and operational performance. Research design, data, and methodology: An online survey is administered to top managers and key personnel (N=425) employed for at least one year in Thailand's top five e-commerce distributors. The sampling methods were conducted using purposive sampling, quota sampling, and convenience sampling. Confirmatory Factor Analysis and Structural Equation Model were applied to analyze and confirm the model's goodness-of-fit and hypothesis testing. Results: The findings reveal that an organization's analytics capabilities significantly affect supply chain disruption orientation and supply chain resilience. Furthermore, operational performance is affected by supply chain disruption, supplier quality management, and innovation capability. Nevertheless, supply chain resilience and digital supply chain have no significant effect on operational performance. Conclusions: The results imply that supply chain digitalization could drive higher operational performance. Distribution businesses are encountering transformation and disruption, which should address the high level of a digital supply chain, innovation, and quality management to maximize their profit margin and delivery service quality.

  • It is the advantage of PLC that digitalization and networking of existing facility can be organized at low price because there is no need further construction of communication line considering that home appliance, information device and various kind of control devices are digitalized at low price. Moreover, AMR(Automatic Meter Reading) is very attractive to utility company because not only does it reduce the cost of reading meter, but also it can control and monitor the demand for energy.   • Considering innovation a key to raising living standards, the Ministry of Science and Technology has put in place various measures meeting the needs of the newly promoted Deputy Prime Minister of Science and Technology. Such measures include business process reengineering as streamlining the work process to achieve the improvement in quality and efficiency: building the integrated performance management system to promote performance-or tented environment; and running the 1ifelong learning system for better competitiveness of government officials. Further to the innovation efforts at work, the number of steps of the R&D budget execution is streamlined from eight to five and its payment period is considerably reduced to 15 days from 60 days. In addition, the digitalized R&D budget management systems such as e-Contract System, One-click Processing Monitoring System, and Information Service System through Short Message Service (SMS) will contribute to improving R&D performance. And these systems are efficiently integrated into a portal interface named "Yeon-gu-ma-ru." The Ministry of Science and Technology, spearheading nationwide innovation, will continue efforts to make viable achievements of innovation.

The Effect of Investing into Distribution Information and Communication Technologies on Banking Performance the Empirical Evidence from an Emerging Country

  • Purpose: This study aims to investigate the impact of investing into technology development on banking performance in an emerging country. Research design, data and methodology: Based on the data of 12 commercial banks listed in Vietnam from 2011 to 2019 and performing multivariable regression analyses as well as conducting a variety of robustness tests, we carry out the empirical investigation to discover this impact. Results: Our empirical evidence shows that these spending help to improve significantly performance of banks. Particularly, the technology expenditures have positive effect on the net interest margin and the non-interest income in which the level of influence on the latter is relatively remarkable in comparison with the former. At the same time, the result does not support the view that increasingly spending on technology may lead banks to face the risk of instability. Conclusions: Overall, our empirical analysis indicates that increasing investment into distribution information and communication technologies will help to enhance business strategies of banks and thus we advocate the bright side of technology development and digitalization in banking sector. We believe that the research is useful for both managers, regulators and policy makers in Vietnam as well as in countries having similar financial structure.

스마트 무역계약 연구의 체계적 문헌고찰 (Systematic Literature Review of Smart Trade Contract Research)

  • 본 연구는 스마트 무역계약의 체계적 문헌고찰을 통해 스마트계약과 블록체인 기술을 활용한 무역계약의 디지털화와 자동화에 관한 연구 동향과 이론적 배경을 파악하고, 기술적 측면과 법적 측면에서의 도전 과제와 해결 방안을 분석하였다. 스마트 무역계약은 블록체인을 기반으로 한 자동화된 계약 시스템의 개념을 무역과 관련된 거래에 적용한 것이다. 기술적 측면에서는 스마트계약 플랫폼의 개발, 블록체인 네트워크의 확장성과 성능 개선, 보안 및 개인 정보 보호 등을 다루었고, 법적 측면에서는 스마트계약의 법적 구속력, 계약 조건의 자동 이행과 이의 실현 가능성, 계약 당사자의 책임과 의무 등을 다루었다. 스마트 무역계약은 국제무역, 공급망 관리, 금융, 보험, 에너지 등 다양한 산업 분야에서 적용 사례가 발견되고 있으며, 이를 통해 무역금융의 용이성과 공급망의 효율성 향상, 비즈니스 모델 혁신에 이바지할 수 있는 것으로 확인되었다. 그러나 스마트 무역계약의 한계점으로는 법적 규제와의 상호작용 문제, 기술적 측면에서의 도전 과제 등이 있으며, 후속 연구에서는 실증 연구, 비즈니스 모델 혁신, 법적 쟁점 해결, 보안과 개인 정보 보호, 표준화와 협력, 사용자 경험 연구 등 다양한 측면을 고려해야 할 것으로 판단된다.

DDS를 이용한 주파수 합성기 설계 및 그 성능평가에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Frequency Synthesizer using the DDS and its Performance Evaluation)

  • 통신의 세계적 흐름은 고속화와 디지털화 그리고 대용량화의 추세로 흐르고 있다. 또한 한정된 자원인 주파수를 효율적으로 이용하기 위하여 대역확산 방식이 대표하여 그 주를 이루고 있다. 주파수 합성기로서 통신시스템에 많이 이용되고 있는 PLL(Phase Lock Loop)은 위상잡음 등 여러 가지 문제점을 가지고 있기 때문에, 이러한 문제점을 최소화 할 수 있는 디지털 소자인 직접디지털 합성기(DDS : Direct Digital Synthesis)를 이용하여 고속주파수도약 시스템을 설계하기위한 성능평가에 대하여 연구하여, 오율 개선의 해석과 고속 주파수 도약이 가능한 시스템을 설계하고 그 성능을 평가 하였다.
