  • As the properties of living space and objects change in the digital era, furniture is also expected to change. This study starts from the question of such inclination that the digital innovation drives territories among products into the ambiguous, then tries to trace the variation of meaning against the furniture. Based on this possibility these functions, this research aims, to find out the digital functions which is preferred to be integrated with the furniture for the users of the residential space and the interface design aspects, which are considered important. preliminary survey using university students was done to extract the possible digital functions for convergence. The respondents were married women in their 20s and 30s who filled out the surveys on the internet. As a result, the specific digital convergence functions for both living and kitchen space were Identified. As major important expects for them were found functionality and controllability. Thus furniture design will expand to a concept which designs a new way of life.

  • In this paper, we studied on the design of elliptic digital filters using the bilinear z transformation method, and proposed a design procedure satisfying prescribed specifications. The magnitude characteristics of digital filters are compared with its of analog filiters by computer simulation. Finaly we considered the quantization effects of digital filters. In cascader realization of fixed-point digital filters under dynamic range constraints, the outpout noise for IIR digital filters depends on the pole-zero pairing and ordering of the second order sections. Therfore an optmization procedure to finding a good ordering and pairing is very desirable. Thus, we proposed a sub-optimization procedure for finding "near optimal" solution.

  • Digital communities' spaces have been very popular through communication contents provide entertainment and usability. Emoticons provide simply emotional expressions and intension, so they weakly convey a realistic sense as they are designed by 2D graphics. However, 3D Avatars presented by 3D Computer Graphics make users interesting because of delivering senses of reality and three-dimension and amuse users because of representing their characters. It is the purpose of this study to analyze design examples of emoticons and avatars applying to personal messengers and propose the development of them. In addition, this paper researches various characteristics of emoticons and avatars for web and mobile phones, and suggests a strategy to usefully and properly apply emoticons and avatars to design.

  • Since the computer technology has been drastically developed and broadly employed for the design of human machine system, human system interface was somehow digitalized. Actually the operator's working environment employing the digital devices are not be fully digitalized due to its technical constraints so that it has been changed to the hybrid environment which has a combination of digital and analog elements. The hybrid environments need to study its characteristics and the guidelines for the proper design and evaluation purpose. This paper describes the human factor design elements of the console operated under hybrid environment through studying the characteristics of digital and analog environment based on the related human factor guidelines and literatures. The result of this paper implies the contribution to the evaluation of the generic human working environment which digital and analog elements are jointly used.

  • 'Digital' the most important keyword in the 21th century environment affects on our life whole and method, studying, working, playing and communicating. Also, digital make the range of products ambiguous through fusing and compounding products. It is becoming new subject how digital may ambiguous with human's life by this solution. So, basis proposition of study analyzes intelligence style furniture taking a view of making of furniture as long as it is by digital technology do essential intensive training of furniture and there is the purpose to suggest conception pattern of 'Digital Convergence Furniture' the future. In especial, analyze intelligence style furniture by investigating space and new tendency that appear on object according to accommodation formula of digital technology through case study it is present conception 'Digital Convergence Furniture'

  • In this paper, digital autopilot design methods are investigated and a new method is suggested in order to improve existing problems. The method is based on .delta. transform (1) and overcome numerical problems occurring in the process of discretization. We illustrate design procedures using .delta. transform and suggest a hardware and software structure for digital autopilot implemented by microprocessor.

  • Recently, interest in eco-friendliness and sustainability has been increasing due to the rapid progress of fast fashion and the crisis of sudden environmental changes after COVID-19. This study aims to develop upcycling textiles and express product design using digital 3D to realize a sustainable fashion industry and present environmental aspects, diversity, creativity, and new directions in fashion industry design. The research method is to develop and pattern upcycling textile designs by applying weaving techniques with waste materials. It uses the developed upcycling textile design in digital 3D to incorporate it into clothing fashion and shows the utility and practicality of upcycling textile design. As a result of the study, the appearance is realistic when outputting DTP of upcycling textile design. It endures without loosening or tearing, making it a durable and creatively expressive fashion item. Texpro 3D mapping reduces the time and cost of making actual sample fabric. Upcycling textile design and 3D CLO virtual clothing are combined to produce actual clothing samples, resulting in zero waste reduction due to cutting and sewing. This study anticipates actively and continuously advancing the development of upcycling textile design and digital 3D in terms of ethics and the environment.
