  • This paper deals with the exploratory study & experimentation for foundation & theoretical base of menu structuring & design improvement of digital media (IPTV, Digital cable TV) service players. Digital media service providers had been offered many cases of menu structure since their service launched. Researcher set a research topic which verification of eye tracking velocity when media user feels with perceived ease of design and the familiarity. Researcher arrives at a conclusion through as stated above experiment that vertical type of menu and horizontal type of menu are differentiated from the contents characteristics. Research conclusions & implications are strong theoretical base with digital media service players when they planning and designing their service structuring.

  • The change of digital technology caused not only the whole human life but also the change of a thinking form and an expression method of human beings. Also, the interactive communication structure became to form in space structure, and space users also get changed to an active system. The interaction between a human being and space, which uses digital media as a medium, makes a human being experience sensitivity through a cognitive process of a human being. The present research aimed to find out characteristics and expression of emotional space applied with digital technology based on the relationship between media space and cognitive functioning and to realize new emotional space. The research method was to define on digital media and experience by cognition of a human being through a literature research and a precedent research and to consider on approach to emotional space through experience of a cognition process like this. Based on the theory like this, the present research progressed by focusing on dramatized characteristics of experience in the digital media space and emotional space expression by induced characteristics. Through the analysis like this, the space applied with digital media could appear as a field of communication that can experience by forming mutual relation through perception of a human being. Additionally, the space induces active participation of a human being through various productions of media and responds to movement, and thus, this suggested infinite possibility as emotional space that can try new experience by stimulating a sense as effect of a cognitive process of a human being.

  • In recent years the industry has utilized some of the 3D printers in the manufacturing process a trend which spread also a personal desktop 3D printer priced. The 3D printer can create the 3D object by using an ink or a laser instead of the powders, and various liquid plastic material. Properties of 3D printers are liquid, solid, powder and raw materials are also classified as varied. New ideas and processes in the form of designer furniture, becoming increasingly evolved through the development of materials and technologies. Science, art and technology combine to create a new aesthetic for the complex and free binding structure is a combination of design and materials are available in craft and the structure appears not showing. 3D scanning was not simply continue to develop as the production process by a variety of tools and content transformation. Create new mathematical tables and chairs designed by the theory fit the digital age shows a coupling structure with decoration into small pieces. It has created a new craft technique in the digital age.

  • A new seismic design methodology was proposed for precast concrete diaphragms. This methodology adopts seismic design factors applied on top of current diaphragm design forces. These factors are aimed to produce diaphragm design strengths aligned with different seismic performance targets. These factors were established through extensive parametric studies. These studies used a simple evaluation structure with a single-bay rectangular diaphragm. The simple evaluation structure is suitable for establishment of the design factors over comprehensive structural geometry and design parameters. However, the application of the design factors to prototype structures with realistic layouts requires further verification and investigation. This paper presents diaphragm design of several precast concrete parking structures using the new design methodology and verification of the design factor through nonlinear dynamic time history analyses. The seismic behavior and performance of the diaphragm were investigated for the precast concrete parking structures. It was found that the design factor established for the new design methodology is applicable to the realistic precast concrete parking structures.

These factors, established through extensive parametric studies, align diaphragm design strengths with different seismic performance targets. A simplified evaluation structure with a single-bay plan was used in the parametric studies. This simplified evaluation structure is reasonable and cost-effective as it can comprehensively cover structural geometries and design parameters. However, further verification and investigation are required to apply these design factors to prototype structures with realistic layouts. • Since the beginning of history, men have done mimesis and produced illusion and succeeded art and culture instinctually. The subject which mention above included the object which can order and space around that. Perspective which began the Renaissance age was dominant way about understanding space in western history and it made modern visual system. Direction way of space which based perspective is changed as horizontal data included multi-layer structure in digital media age. This character make us possible to represent the space more efficiently. So we must have pay attention the direction way of space based on digital media, because it has meaning to show human value beyond a methodology of visual art culture.

  • We propose a new generic design methodology for different types of PSS. Product - Service System (PSS) has received much attention recently from academia and industry because of its benefits. PSS can provide customers values and functionalities, as well as physical products, to fulfill economic, social and environmental goals. Many methodologies have been proposed for designing PSSs. Most of the existing methodologies are domain specific and were proposed to solve specific problems in certain projects. Some methodologies are generic but they provide neither guideline to practitioners and designers nor reflect the differences in various PSS types. As a generic approach to guide practitioners and designers in designing PSS effectively, the proposed methodology also takes into account user involvement, business model and organizational structure. The proposed methodology is demonstrated through design examples of different types of PSSs.

  • In this paper, a digital controller for satisfying time response requirements for UPS inverters is designed in a fixed sampling time. The CRA (Characteristic Ratio Assignment) is used as the continuous time design method to deal with the problems of overshoot and settling time. The main design approaches are the inward and outward approaches based on a double-loop feedback structure. The continuous-time controller is discretized by the emulation method. The performances of the proposed controller are evaluated through several simulations carried out with Simpower System Toolbox 3.0 from Simulink$^{(R)}.

  • This paper describes the theoretical background and detailed structure of Navi-HEGS (Navigation system Human factors Evaluation and Guideline System) which has been developed for the human factors and HMI(Human-Machine Interface) researches for a CNS (Car Navigation System) and a digital map. Navi-HEGS is and integrated system that consists of a digital map UIMS(User Interface Management System), a CNS simulator, various evaluation tools, and a design guideline system. If Navi-HEGS is properly applied and utilized, it is possible to extract the substantial users requirements and preferences of a CNS and a digital map and then, these requirements can be simulated and evaluated with various human factors evaluation techniques. Applications of Navi-HEGS can improve the CNS usability, drivers safety and performance that directly affect the success of ITS(Intelligent Transport System). Also, results can be used as the basic data to establish the standards and design guidelines for the driver-centered CNS design.

  • In this paper, an efficient frequency offset synchronization structure for OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing) is proposed. Conventional CORDIC(Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer) algorithm for frequency offset synchronization utilizes two CORDIC hardware i.e., one is vector mode for phase estimation, the other is rotation mode for compensation. But proposed structure utilizes one CORDIC hardware and divider. Through simulation, it is shown that hardware implementation complexity is reduced compared with conventional structures. The Verilog-HDL coding and front-end chip implementation results for the proposed structure show 22.1% gate count reduction comparison with those of the conventional structure.
