무궁화위성 서비스망의 구성과 특성 (Network Configurations and Characteristics of the KOREASAT Satellites' Services)

  • The KOREASAT satellite, the first Korean commercial communication and broadcasting satellite, has been launched in August 1995, and has started to provide the communication and preliminary broadcasting services, respectively, in March and July 1996. In this paper the network configurations and characteristics of the services which the KOREASAT satellite provides are described. The services, which are provided by the KOREASAT satellite with its twelve communication and four broadcasting transponders, are the direct broadcasting service, the video relay service including the TVRO, SNG and TV/CATV program distribution, the company-wide communication service including VSAT and TSAT, and the other services with the digital line, trunk relay, telephone line, mobile data, music broadcasting services, etc. A communication transponder has the 36MHz bandwidth and 14W output power, and a broadcasting transponder has the 27MHz bandwidth and 12OW output power.

GPU를 이용한 해금의 스펙트럼 모델링 (Spectral Modeling Synthesis of Haegeum using GPU)

  • This paper presents a parallel approach of formant synthesis method for haegeum on graphics processing units (GPU) using spectral modeling. Spectral modeling synthesis (SMS) is a technique that models time-varying spectra as a combination of sinusoids and a time-varying filtered noise component. A second-order digital resonator by the impulse-invariant transform (IIT) is applied to generate deterministic components and the results are band-pass filtered to adjust magnitude. The noise is calculated by first generating the sinusoids with formant synthesis, subtracting them from the original sound, and then removing some harmonics remained. The synthesized sounds are consequently by adding sinusoids, which are shown to be similar to the original Haegeum sounds. Furthermore, GPU accelerates the synthesis process enabling- real time music synthesis system development, supporting more sound effect, and multiple musical sound compositions.

성악 전공 학생의 가칭 시 음성의 SPR(Singing Power Ratio)에 관한 연구 (A Study of the SPR (Singing Power Ratio) on the Singing Voice in Singing Students)

  • This study attempted to provide a spectrum analysis for quantitative evaluation of singing voice quality of singing students rather than the presence or absence of the singer's formant. The regression analysis was used to analyse the relationship between ringing quality, SPR, and SPP of singing voice of college student subjects majoring in music. This study measured singing. power ratio (SPR) in 41 singing students. Digital audio recordings were made in sung vowels for acoustic analyses. Each sample was judged by 1 experienced singing teacher and 4 voice pathologists on one semantic bipolar 7-point scales (ringing-dull). The results showed that the SPR and SPP had significant correlations with ringing quality. The SPR had a significant relationship with ringing quality on singing voice in singing students. The SPR can be an important quantitative measurement for evaluating singing voice quality.

  • Although most of the people have studied English for a long time, their English conversation capability is low. When we provide them portable conversational-type English learners by the application of computer and information process technology, such portable learners can be used to enhance their English conversation capability by their conventional conversation exercises. The core technology to develop such learner is the development of a voice recognition and synthesis module under an embedded environment. This paper deals with voice recognition and synthesis, prototype of the learner module using a DSP(Digital Signal Processing) chip for voice processing, voice playback function, flash memory file system, PC download function using USB ports, English conversation text function by the use of SMC(Smart Media Card) flash memory, LCD display function, MP3 music listening function, etc. Application areas of the prototype equipped with such various functions are vast, i.e. portable language learners, amusement devices, kids toy, control by voice, security by the use of voice, etc.

  • With the rapid development of digital technology, the satellite DMB service is able to provide chance to watch on TV, movie and listen on the Radio to their subscriber with moving. From the mid 2005, Korean people can get the satellite DMB service which includes In many kinds of new telecommunication services such as watching on tv, movie, and listening the music on service charge. The objective of this study is to grasp the factors which affecting the use satellite DMB service on the consumers who pay service charge, and to make an analysis on the structure relationship between such factors with consumer satisfaction and consumer royalty.

Connect, BTS: An Example of Innovative Transmedia Branding To Rethink Spatiality and Meaning-making

  • This case study research analyzes the cross-artistic project Connect, BTS and its relationship to transmedia branding, meaning-making and spatiality. After an overview of the argument and a section on methodology, the reader will find the analysis of the case study. Thanks to the use of a qualitative approach, this examination of Connect, BTS unveils the ways in which this initiative becomes a location that allows a reconceptualization of space that fosters plurality, exchange, and subjectivity. Connect, BTS unites seemingly incompatible fields under one project, favoring the co-creation of meanings among different artists, BTS, ARMY (the group's fans), business partners and viewers. This process has been investigated through content analysis, exploring Connect, BTS's transmedia strategies from branding to storytelling, to evaluate their efficacy in regard to brand identity, brand experience, and brand trust. The paper will also explore the variety of layers and spatial dimensions contained in Connect, BTS, which flow from art to the music industry, material and digital space, various market sectors and media. In light of this, Connect, BTS embraces a galaxy of separate semantic units into an extended liminal continuum that does not discount difference.

  • The article reveals the essence of cyber socialization influencing the process of education and development. The general and potential possibilities of cyber socialization in the process of using the cyberspace of the Internet environment are presented. The sudden transition to distance learning in the spring of 2020 put the pedagogical community in the face of problems related to the content, organizational and methodological basis of the educational process. During the training in distance mode, a rich experience was gained in the use of information and communication technologies. The article discusses the techniques and methods of teaching using the capabilities of information and communication and digital technologies.

A Study on Technology to Counter Copyright Infringement According to NFT Transaction Types

  • In the digital world, the transactions of assets with intrinsic value can be applied to games, literature, art, and music by issuing NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens) based on Blockchain; various NFT exchanges are emerging accordingly just like real world asset exchanges. However, there could be an issue of copyright infringement in those NFT transactions. Therefore, this paper has classified the types of copyright infringement that may occur in NFT exchanges and proposes the copyright infringement countermeasures according to them. For this purpose, 10 types of NFT exchange are examined. Eventually, it can be expected that the proposed countermeasures will contribute to the revitalization of the NFT market by providing solutions for those issues.

Linbits 특성을 이용하여 MP3 비트스트림에 부가적인 정보를 삽입하는 방법에 관한 연구 (Additive Data Insertion into MP3 Bitstream Using linbits Characteristics)

  • MP3의 사용이 늘어나면서 저작권 보호나 음악 콘텐츠 정보의 삽입을 위한 방법에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있으며 관련된 연구가 활발히 진행 중에 있다. 이때 부가적인 정보가 삽입되어도 MP3의 비트스트림 구조가 크게 변형되어 음질의 열화나 파일 크기의 변화가 발생하여서는 안 된다. 본 연구에서는 위의 조건을 만족할 수 있도록 MP3 부호화 과정 중에서 양자화 된 정수 형태의 계수가 허프만 부호화 될 때, 값이 큰 샘플들의 특징을 이용하여 linbits 중 몇 개의 비트를 변형하여 부가적인 정보를 삽입하고, 그 음질의 열화 정도를 테스트하였다. 일련의 실험 과정을 통하여 평균 60 bytes/sec의 정보 삽입률에서 MOS 4.6 정도의 음질을 얻을 수 있음을 확인하였다. 제안된 방법을 이용하면 저작권에 대한 정보 또는 미디어 자체에 대한 정보들을 효과적으로 삽입할 수 있어 음악 데이터베이스의 운용과 같은 다양한 분야에 적용될 수 있다.

DBF 차량용 레이더를 위한 다중 표적의 정확한 각도 추정 연구 (A Study on Accurate Angle Estimation of Multiple Targets for Digital Beam Forming Automotive Radar)

  • 차량용 레이더(automotive radar)는 크기, 무게, 비용 등의 문제로 적은 수의 수신 채널을 가진 안테나를 사용한다. 이때, 스펙트럼 추정 기법 중 하나인 relaxation(RELAX) 기법을 이용하면, 표적의 방위각뿐만 아니라, 빔 내에 존재하는 표적의 개수 추정 또한, 가능하다. 하지만, 차량용 레이더의 적은 수신 채널 개수로 인하여, 정밀하지 않은 각도 영역에서의 스펙트럼 추정이 이루어지며, 이는 부정확한 방위각 추정 성능을 야기한다. 이를 개선하기 위해 본 논문에서는 minimum length description(MDL) 기준을 통한 표적 개수의 추정과 결부한 root-multiple signal classification(root-MUSIC) 기법을 이용하여 표적의 정확한 방위각을 추정하도록 제안한다. 시뮬레이션에서는 세 점 표적들이 안테나 빔 내에 존재할 때, 제안한 방법이 더 나은 방위각 추정 결과를 도출할 수 있음을 보인다.
