  • In this paper, a new scheme of adaptive-neuro control system is presented to implement real-time control of robot manipulator using Digital Signal Processors. Digital signal processors, DSPs, are micro-processors that are particularly developed for fast numerical computations involving sums and products of measured variables, thus it can be programmed and executed through DSPs. In addition, DSPs are as fast in computation as most 32-bit micro-processors and yet at a fraction of therir prices. These features make DSPs a viable computational tool in digital implementation of sophisticated controllers. Unlike the well-established theory for the adaptive control of linear systems, there exists relatively little general theory for the adaptive control of nonlinear systems. Adaptive control technique is essential for providing a stable and robust perfor-mance for application of robot control. The proposed neuro control algorithm is one of learning a model based error back-propagation scheme using Lyapunov stability analysis method.The proposed adaptive-neuro control scheme is illustrated to be a efficient control scheme for the implementation of real-time control of robot system by the simulation and experi-ment.

  • 본 연구는 현재 디지탈 방식의 이동통신에서 사용되는 디지탈/아날로그 겸용 단말기에서 아날로그 방식을 지원하기 위한 오디오/데이타 프로세서를 ETRI DSP를 이용하여 실시간 구현하는 것에 대한 것이다. 오디오/데이타 프로세서는 단말기가 아날로그 방식으로 동작할 때 광대역 데이타 처리, 오디오신호 처리 및 demodulation, data rate conversion 기능을 수행한다. 이와같은 기능은 어셈블리 언어로 프로그램되어 디지탈 방식에서 사용되는 보코더 프로그램과 함께 ETRI DSP에 탑재되었다. 즉 하나의 하드웨어를 이용하여 디지탈 방식의 보코더와 아날로그 방식의 오디오/데이타 프로세서를 함께 구현 함으로써 하드웨어의 효율성을 극대화 하여 기존의 아날로그 전용의 단말기와의 경쟁력을 가질 수 있도록 하였다.

  • In this paper, a specification for wireless LAN MODEM using direct sequence spread spectrum (DS/SS) technique is presented. Some algorithms and hardware architectures for an efficient implementation of the DS/SS MODEM are suggested. In the method, all baseband signal processing are done digitally for single chip implementation. Schemes of DQPSK baseband modulation/demodulation, despreading with digital matched filter, digital timing recovery, and efficient carrier sensing are among the discussed algorithms. We also performed various kinds of simulations to evaluate the system performance and to extract parameters for hardware implementation. In addition, the pictorial view of ASIC of the SS MODEM is also shown.

아날로그 회로와 마이크로 프로세서를 이용한 PPF 제어기의 구현 (Implementation of PPF Controller Using Analog Circuit and Microprocessor)

  • This paper is concerned with the implementation of the active vibration suppression controller using analog circuit and microprocessor. The target active vibration controller is the positive position feedback(PPF) controller since it provides a simple algorithm suitable for both analog circuit and digital controllers. In this study, the analog PPF controller is realized using an operational amplifier and the digital PPF controller is realized using a low-cost micro-controller. The circuit diagrams are explained in detail. We then discuss the advantages and disadvantages of both methods from the view of practical implementation. Experimental results show that both implementation methods can be effectively used for the active vibration control but need to be chosen based on the mission objective.

  • 본 논문은 Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)와 디지털 신호처리 소자를 이용한 IS-95 CDMA신호 처리기 FPGA와 고속의 ADC/DAC를 이용한 기저대역과 중간주파수(IF)의 디지털 변환기 그리고 주파수 상·하향 변환기를 구현하였다. IS-95 CDMA 채널 처리기는 짧은 PN 코드 발생기와 왈쉬 코드 발생기로 파일롯 채널의 신호를 발생시킨다. 디지털 IF는 FPGA, 디지털 송·수신 신호처리 소자와 고속의 ADC/DAC로 구성하였다. 주파수 상·하향 변환기는 필터, 믹서, 디지털 감쇠기와 PLL로 구성되어 중간주파수(IF)와 RF 주파수를 변환하였다. 이 구현된 시스템은 IS-95 CDMA 기지국 장비 등에 장착할 수 있다.

  • Digital Game design with educational purposes and User Experience measurement via game analytics has been extensively covered in literature, however non-digital games such as tabletops in education and its corresponding educational impact have limited research. In this paper, we propose a guideline to create non-digital educational games from scratch and evaluate them based on the know-how of developers and the investigation of scholars who have studied the engagement factors related to the digital games and applied their findings to non-digital games. Along with the guideline we provide an actual implementation, a game called HXGN_766, meant to serve as scaffolding of computational thinking and rudimentary Python programing concepts. We believe both, guideline and game, can be a useful reference for those interested on game design, educational content design, game quality control check, and unplugged computer science activities. This is the first in a series of papers where the game design concept, the evaluation methodology and the game itself will be presented with more detail.

  • Nepal is a sensitive and disaster-prone country where safety and security risk are of high concern for travelers. Digital technologies can play a vital role in addressing safety and security issues in the country. This research work proposes a Digital tourism security system design for addressing the safety and security issues in tourism industry of Nepal. The study uses Design science research methodology to identify artifacts, interactions, information flow and dependencies between them which are then mapped with existing prevalent technology to provide design solutions. Data is obtained from interview of tourist and experts as a primary source and technical documents/draft, software documentations, surveys as secondary source. Generalized information model, Use cases model, Network architecture model, Layered taxonomy model and Digital tourism technology reference model are the outcomes of the study. The work is very important as it talks specifically about implementation and integration of digital technologies in tourism security governance at federal, provincial, municipal and rural level. The research supplements as a knowledge document for design and implementation of digital tourism security system in practice. As there is very less work on digital systems in tourism security of Nepal, this work is a pioneer and first of its kind.

A Distributed Implementation Algorithm for Physical Layer Security Based on Untrusted Relay Cooperation and Artificial Noise

  • In this letter, we consider a cooperation system with multiple untrusted relays (URs). To keep the transmitted information confidential, we obtain joint channel characteristics (JCCs) through combining the channels from the source to the destination. Then, in the null space of the JCCs, jammers construct artificial noise to confuse URs when the source node broadcasts its data. Through a distributed implementation algorithm, the weight of each node can be obtained from its own channel state information. Simulation results show that high-level security of the system can be achieved when internal and external eavesdroppers coexist.

  • 디지털 영상은 영상압축이나 기타 다양한 디지털 처리에 용이한 장점이 있는 반면 위/변조가 상대적으로 용이하기 때문에 그에 대한 대응을 위한 다양한 디지털 워터마킹 기법이 개발되었다. 워터마킹 기법은 공간 또는 주파수 영역에서의 다양한 적용에 가능한데, 본 연구에서는 디지털 콘텐츠 대부분이 압축되어 전송, 저장되는 추세와, 최근 대부분의 멀티미디어 동영상 코덱 표준으로 채택이 되고 있는 H.264/AVC 언코더를 기반으로 한 워터마크 삽입을 실시간으로 수행하기 위한 기법을 제시한다.
