  • A GaAs power metal semiconductor field effect transistor (MESFET) operating at a voltage as low as 3.3V has been developed with the best performance for digital handheld phone. The device has been fabricated on an epitaxial layer with a low-high doped structure grown by molecular beam epitaxy. The MESFET, fabricated using $0.8{\mu}m$ design rule, showed a maximum drain current density of 330 mA/mm at $V_{gs}$ =0.5V and a gate-to-drain breakdown volt-age of 28 V. The MESFET tested at a 3.3 V drain bias and a 900 MHz operation frequency displayed an output power of 32.5-dBm and a power added efficiency of 68%. The associate power gain at 20 dBm input power and the linear gain were 12.5dB and 16.5dB, respectively. Two tone testing measured at 900.00MHz and 900.03MHz showed that a third-order intercept point is 49.5 dBm. The power MESFET developed in this work is expected to be useful as a power amplifying device for digital hand-held phone because the high linear gain can deliver a high power added efficiency in the linear operation region of output power and the high third-order intercept point can reduce the third-order intermodulation.

  • The development of flexor digital tendon of the hand was studied by electron microscopy in human fetuses ranging from 9 mm to 260 mm crown rump length. The primordium of tendons was first identified as discrete collection of mesenchymal cells at 25 mm fetus. Synovial sheath formation had commenced by 40 mm fetus and was complete by 70 mm fetus. Cell junction or adhesion sites at all ages were noted between the tendon cells. When dilatation of the synovial cavity occurred, two types of synovial cells were observed. A-type cells had numerous vesicles and large vacuoles. In contrast, B-type cells were characterized by abundant rough endoplasmic reticulum and well-developed Golgi complex. By $150mm{\sim}260mm$ fetuses, a mojority of the synovial cells were type B. The most remarkable difference between the synovial cells of full-term fetus and adult was the larger amount of collagen fibers in the latter. The vascular buds were first observed between the individual fibril bundles in the interfascicular space at 150 mm fetus. At 25 mm fetus, collagen fibrils were first noted within narrow cytoplasmic recesses which were continued with the extracellular space. Collagen fibrils were filled in almost entire extracellular space at 150 mm fetus. Besides collagen fibrils in the extracellular space small elastic fibers were also identified and followed in their development.

  • This study of purpose was to evaluate the changes in hands and feet temperature by applying massage and paraffin bath.. The subject of this study was 30 university healthy students. Subjects were divided into paraffin bath group and massages group. The digital infrared thermographic imaging was used for thermographic analysis. The visual analog scale was used for subjective information about the degree of cold sensitivity and cold stress test was used for analyzing the temperature recovery rate. After the interventions showed that temperature difference of the right hand and temperature difference of the left hand are less in the paraffin group than the massage group. When applied paraffin bath and massage to the cold hypersensitivity patient the massage group showed difference in the visual analog scale and the paraffin group showed difference in the temperature of the right hand, left hand, left foot and in the visual analog scale. Paraffin bath treatment seems to be useful to patients with cold hypersensitivity on hands and feet.

  • Today, the activities of individuals and corporations are dependent not only on digital technology but also on the future of society, which is referred to as the fourth industrial revolution. Since the traces that arise from the crimes that occur in the digital society are also inevitably developed into a society that should be found in the digital, the judicial dependence of judging by the digital evidence is inevitably increased in the criminal procedure. On the other hand, considering the fact that many users are using virtual shared computing resources of service providers considering the fact that they are being converted into a cloud computing environment system, searching for evidence in cloud computing resources is not related to crime. The possibility of infringing on the basic rights of the criminal procedure is increased, so that the ability of evidence of digital data which can be used in the criminal procedure is limited. Therefore, considering these two aspects of digital evidence, this point should be fully taken into account in judging the evidence ability in the post-seizure warrant issuance and execution stage as well as the pre-emptive control. There is a view that dictionary control is useless, but it needs to be done with lenient control in order to materialize post-modern control through judging ability of evidence. In other words, more efforts are needed than ever before, including legislation to ensure proper criminal procedures in line with the digital age.

  • The purpose of this paper is to present the effect of image stimulation on body stability as a conceptual model and to investigate the effect of image stimulus(2D, VR) on body stability(hand stability) through experiments Recently, stereoscopic images such as virtual and augmented reality are combined with smart phones and exercise equipments, and the diffusion is becoming active. The possibility of a safety accident or human error is also increasing as it temporarily affects the balance of the body and hand stability after the image stimulus is removed. The conceptual model is presented based on the results of previous studies. Based on the experimental results, the conceptual model has been explained in combination with the human information processing process and cognitive resource models that take place in the brain. Twenty subjects were exposed to 2D and VR stimuli, and display fatigue was measured by cybersickness questionnaire and hand stability by hand steadiness tester. Experimental results show that VR images induce higher display fatigue and lower hand stability than 2D. In this study, it is meaningful that hand stability according to image type and display fatigue level which have not been tried yet is revealed through conceptual model and experiment.

  • Purpose: The aim of this study was to present specific criteria for setting goals for hand rehabilitation by comparing the degree of difference in grip force, coordination, and dexterity between the dominant and non-dominant hand according to gender. Methods: We recruited 100 healthy adults in their 20s and 30s. A handheld digital dynamometer was used to evaluate the grip force of each of the dominant and non-dominant hand, a chopsticks manipulation test was used to evaluate coordination, and the Purdue Pegboard test was used to evaluate agility. Results: In all subjects, the grip force, coordination, and dexterity showed statistically significant difference (p <0.01) between the dominant and non-dominant hand. In the comparison according to gender, both male and female dominant and non-dominant hands showed statistically significant differences in grip force, coordination, and dexterity (p <0.01). In the comparison according to grip force, there was a statistically significant difference between the dominant and non-dominant hand, and men showed stronger result values in both hands compared to women (p <0.01). In the comparison according to coordination, there was no statistically significant difference between the dominant and non-dominant hand in men and women (p >0.05). In the comparison according to dexterity, there was a statistically significant difference between the dominant and non-dominant hand, and women were shown to be faster in performance time with both hands, compared to men (p <0.01). Conclusion: Differences according to gender exist in grip force and dexterity but not coordination, and differences between dominant and non-dominant hand exists across all measurements. The results suggest setting a recovery goal according to dominance and gender during rehabilitation of hand function.

  • Background: The motor unit number index (MUNIX) and motor unit size index (MUSIX) refer to the electrophysiological measurement of the motor units using the surface electromyographic interference pattern (SIP) recorded during graded muscle contraction. In order to improve the reliability and reproducibility of MUNIX by the systematization of the graded muscle contractions, we applied a digital hand instrument to the procedure of recording SIP signals. Methods: We tested the applicability of the digital instrument in the MUNIX technique by assessing the mean values and the reproducibility of the MUNIX involving the abductor pollicis brevis (APB) and the abductor digiti minimi (ADM) muscles in 30 healthy adults. Results: The digital dynamometer was successfully applied to the MUNIX measurements of the APB and ADM muscles, and showed high reproducibility across trials. Conclusions: Application of the digital instrument would be useful in improving the reliability and reproducibility of MUNIX.

  • Effect of process factors on the sensitivity of inner-type digital switching TSP was analyzed. From these results, we have successfully fabricated inner-type digital switching TSP embedded in 3.2-inch WQVGA PLS mode LCD panel. During many factors, TFT sensor structure for reducing the PI thickness and a separation distance of $0.3{\mu}m$ between the conductive column spacer (C/S) and TFT sensor were essential. Glass thickness and main C/S density were also important factors. This technology can be applied to wide angle of view hand-held phones, personal digital assistants (PDAs), and tablet PCs.
