A HMD VR data transmission solution by using strip LED attached Window Signage

  • This paper proposed the design of a new window signage system architecture, which utilized a window of a building, with attached LED for visible light communication. In this paper, the proposed method using the LED strip to transmit light data and receive the data through a HMD with a smart device camera. The LED strip attached to the existing building window, as a part of semi-transparent signage. Semi-transparent signage based on a controllable LED strip-modules and attached to the window used to provide entertainment contents and the information service to people through optical camera communication (OCC) as well. Also, this work suggests using the camera supplied Head Mounted Device (HMD) as an OCC receiver. The LED attached window signage system structure described in this paper can be utilized in various buildings infrastructure like house, shopping areas, industrial building, etc.

Purpose of this study grasps use factor of LBS application Mobile service, and it is that analyze actual proof through questionnaire to grasp whether some relation is with value and action determination that is felt of LBS application Mobile service. Distributed all question of 190 copies but disk floret inclination did valid data 171 that clear question and omission remove a lot of questions by type of study among questionnaire of collected 182 wealths. Analyzed factor analysis and authoritativeness to search validity and confidence of questionnaire and used single regression analysis and multiple regression analysis for hypothetical verification. According to verification result, Mobile service that apply position base service usefulness and system quality, adaptedness of Mobile service that apply position base service by leading person affecting in use, acted for connection healthy and felt value is important factor immediately. Usability and social effect, felt expense, privacy did not appear by leading person that keep in mind in this study. Is been related with step that Mobile service that apply position base service is placed. That is, as present childhood, a person who have experience that use service to look for friend is few and usability fairly in last in wide application boundary and this very important person was removed finally in model. This study has sense in terms of study systematically about LBS application service use leading person that is getting into the spotlight worldwide among Mobile service that is injured newly.

Sound Enhancement of low Sample rate Audio Using LMS in DWT Domain (DWT영역에서 LMS를 이용한 저 샘플링 비율 오디오 신호의 음질 향상)

  • In order to mitigate the problems in storage space and network bandwidth for the full CD quality audio, current digital audio is always restricted by sampling rate and bandwidth. This restriction normally results in low sample rate audio or calls for the data compression scheme such as MP3. However, they can only reproduce a lower frequency range than a regular CD quality because of the Nyquist sampling theory. Consequently they lose rich spatial information embedded in high frequency. The propose of this paper is to propose efficient high frequency enhancement of low sample rate audio using n adaptive filtering and DWT analysis and synthesis. The proposed algorithm uses the LMS adaptive algorithm to estimate the missing high frequency contents in DWT domain and it then reconstructs the spectrally enhanced audio by using the DWT synthesis procedure. Several experiments with real speech and audio are performed and compared with other algorithm. From the experimental results of spectrogram and sonic test, we confirm that the proposed algorithm outperforms the other algorithm and reasonably works well for the most of audio cases.

Comparison of User Interaction Alternatives in a Tangible Augmented Reality Environment (감각형 증강현실 기반 상호작용 대안들의 비교)

  • In recent years, great attention has been paid to using simple physical objects as tangible objects to improve user interaction in augmented reality (AR) environments. In this paper, we address AR-based user interaction using tangible objects, which has been used as a key component for virtual design evaluation of engineered products including digital handheld products. We herein consider the use of two types (product-type and pointer-type) of tangible objects. The user creates input events by touching specified parts of the product-type object with the pointer-type object, and the virtual product reacts to the events by rendering its visual and auditory contents on the output devices. The product-type object is used to reflect the geometric shape of a product of interest and to determine its position and orientation in the AR environment. The pointer-type object is used to recognize the reference position of the pointer (or finger) in the same environment. The rapid prototype of the product is employed as a good alternative to the product-type object, but various alternatives to the pointer-type object can be considered according to fabrication process and touching mechanism. In this paper, we present four alternatives to the pointer-type object and investigate their strong and weak points by performing experimental comparison of their various aspects including interaction accuracy, task performance, and qualitative user experience.

  • To meet changing education needs due to globalization, interdisciplinary convergence, and ICT development, it is necessary for engineering disciplines to provide student-centered education. Not only do teaching methods using ICT reproduce teaching contents in a digital format, but they are also expected to be effective media for constructive student-centered learning whereby learners build knowledge themselves. The aim of this study was to develop a tool for safety education using virtual reality technology. To achieve the objectives, the author defined the requirements and constraints of the tool, and implemented a 3D educational tool in a virtual reality environment. A pilot test with 10 students showed positive results.

  • Due to Proliferation of Mobile Devices, the Global Mobile Application (App) Market is Set to Continue its Impressive Growth Trajectory. However, like other Digital Contents, Prevalent Piracy of Smartphone Apps has Become One of the Major Obstacles to the Growth of the Newborn App Industry. The Objective of this Study is to Examine and Better Understand the Effects of Factors Which has been Known to Influence PC Software Piracy. A Research Model Explaining the Impact of Various Factors to Smartphone App Piracy Attitude and Intention is Constructed Based on Theories of Ethical Behavior. A Survey of College Students was Conducted to Test the Research Model. Findings Show that PC Software Piracy Habit and Attitude have Significant Effects on Smartphone Piracy Attitude and Intention. Beliefs Concerning Judicial and Performance Risks Due to Piracy have Little Effects on Smartphone App Piracy Attitude.

Analysis of Privacy Violation Possibility of Partially Anonymized Big Data (온라인 상에 공개된 부분 익명화된 빅데이터의 프라이버시 침해 가능성 분석)

  • With the development of information and communication technology, especially wireless Internet technology and the spread of smart phones, digital data has increased. As a result, privacy issues which concerns about exposure of personal sensitive information are increasing. In this paper, we analyze the privacy vulnerability of online big data in domestic internet environment, especially focusing on portal service, and propose a measure to evaluate the possibility of privacy violation. For this purpose, we collected about 50 million user posts from the potal service contents and extracted the personal information. we find that potal service user can be identified by the extracted personal information even though the user id is partially anonymized. In addition, we proposed a risk measurement evaluation method that reflects the possibility of personal information linkage between service using partial anonymized ID and personal information exposure level.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest a smart city strategy through smart growth considering the human, social and cultural meaning. It seeks opportunities to develop the cities that has not grown by integrating the ICT, a new growth tool for smart cities, into the spatial and physical renewal project. Method: Analyzing policy and strategy of smart living lab and digital cultural contents on the smart growth process under the experience in Amsterdam and Paris. Results: Smart city is expected to be reflected not only the technical aspects but the social characteristics of the city in order to enhance the living environment of the citizens by embracing diverse viewpoints throughout the city. It examines the smart growth plan in the improvement of the living conditions of the citizens. Conclusion: Planning smart city is to discover the smart city adaptability that can enhance the capability of cities to improve the life condition and quality of citizens by applying the core strategies and specialized programs with community service and urban marketing, which are emerging as smart cities based on ICT technologies.

  • In this paper, We would research and analysis for actual beauty information condition in Korea on the end of July 2004. We make an investigation into 3 beauty subject that Web service were operated by 100% regular school education. 15.5% Private school in 363 teaching institutions, 8.74% of 767 material dealers, 0.38% of 77,546 beauty salons. There are 12 companies of client management program and 3 hair changing programs. It bring to be few of technical beauty information data and creature value added that lack of full-time lecturer, according1y, KBMC and Ministry of Health & Welfare would constitute beauty information commit that make connection of each 3 beauty subjects and web database for technical beauty information data. As a result of unification and communization for beauty information system. It should be take synergy effect for Korean Beauty.

  • This paper presents a method for tessellating trimmed NURBS surface with preserving sharp shape Although several existing approaches need a large number of triangular meshes to represent sharp shape of surface, resulting triangular meshes may not reflect sharp edges properly. In this study, we flit detect the sharp shape of NURBS surface automatically using C1 continuous condition and then use constraint Delaunay triangulation method to present exact sharp shape with the minimum triangular meshes. And we also use approximated developed surface domain as triangulation domain of rimmed NURBS surface. In this way, the shape of triangular elements on the triangular domains is approximately preserved and can avoid distortion when mapped into three-dimensional space. finally, we show examples that demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme in terms of reducing the number of triangular meshes and preserving sharp shape of surface more exactly.
