A Study on Model of paid Digital Contents for Public Institutions (공공서비스기관의 콘텐츠 유료화 모형에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, digital contents have become increasingly perceived as a axe aspect of national development, and as such their generation and widespread promotion is being now pursued on a global basis, as govemment move to assist corporations in the realization of consistent industrial develo- pment. Efforts are also being made to seek avenues for the paid use of qualitativefy excellent contents, instead of relying upon traditional methods of free-of-charge provision. This paper examined the role of public institutions for the charging and development of contents industry. And it is suggested that promotional strategy and mode! for paid digital contents. ln particular, it is focused on those cases by the the Korea Institue of Science and Technology Information (KISTI) as a non-profit institution in public information sevice.

  • The age of digital content mainstream consumers in the era of smart technology is expanding compared to the past. Consumers are taking a leading role in the production and distribution of contents in various forms. At the center of this is a post-modern social structure and space that break down the boundaries among Personal Digital Device, contents, production and consumption as a medium. Content rejects the existence of the same thing in the world. The tendency of the main consumer segment and the provision of post modern storytelling that penetrates it creates a huge industry group with various forms of contents. In order to carry out this study, with analyzing examples of movies, games, and advertisements, we found the fact that the center of content creation for individuals made their unique style, excluding generality. As a result of this research, the relationship between the user-driven digital contents and post modern storytelling have been revised the awareness about the possibility of various convergence in the field of contents production.

  • Entering the 21st century, the primary influence leading world economy have been shifting. U.S. economy has seemed to slow down, Japan and EU are also in same situation. But China have started to lead Asia economy and expended to the World. According to Goldman Sachs Group, "The 21st century will be a era of Brics because of their enormous territory, a large population and abundant natural resources." We have to more focus on China because China have directly effect on Korean market and have a great potential market opportunity for our industries. However, this report mentioned above didn't carefully deal with a field of information and technology(from here IT), Digital contents consumption wasn't mentioned at all. Now Digital Contents (from here 'DC') emerge as new value creator and actually Korea has been a dominant in IT industries and is leading Digital contents market in China. This phenomenon is called as 'Korean wave (Han-Ryu)'. Many researchers have studied about 'Korean wave(Han-Ryu)' focusing on the economic effect but Korean DC industries need to build specifical strategies for exporting Korean DC to China market. Therefore, purpose of this study is following : Firstly, to analyze environment of DC in China and competitive advantages of it. Secondly, to compare ICAI (Industrial Comparative Advantage Index) according to a kind of DC. Finally, to make an analysis of China consumer's attitude to DC. This study will give much implication for Korean DC industries to enter China market.

  • The usage increase of digital contents required solution for protection technology and interoperability of system. MPEG(Moving Picture Experts Group) proposed MPEG-21 Multimedia Frameworks. MPEG-21 IPMP is standard that provides the means to enable digital item and rights information to be persistently managed and protected across networks and devices. In this paper, MPEG-21 IPMP based system to protect digital contents designed by four structures of license server, production server, consumption server, tool server. License server create rights information document using the XML-based REL about multimedia contents of users. Production server makes a digital item by packaging multimedia resource and metadata, which is combined by REL information and IPMP information of multimedia resource. Consumption server takes care of the functions of players that use digital item, and tool server was implement to transmit for missing tool that might occur in all procedures.

  • Hearing - impaired children who have difficulty hearing and hearing go through pronunciation training. The purpose of this study is to provide the pronunciation training system based on digital contents that can be used for repeated hearing training while maintaining interest in hearing - impaired children. For this purpose, we conducted an interview survey for users and experts. Based on the results, we developed a digital content based pronunciation training system. Finally, to verify the effect of the digital service implemented, the user test was conducted for the hearing - impaired children. As a result of the interview, repeated training and interest factors were found to be essential factors affecting pronunciation training. In implementing digital services, we have used fairy tales and a variety of interactive elements to derive children's interests and designed a user flow that can train multiple words and sentences for effective repetition training. As a result of the test, this digital content was evaluated positively.

Exploring New System of China Digital Media Design Related Undergraduate Education

  • In recent years, China Digital Media Design related undergraduate education has developed into great dimensions while producing a lot of problems. Now cause of rapid development, Disciplinary Location, Training Objectives and Curriculum require study. Firstly, the paper points out the scope and general process of Digital Media Design through an analysis of properties of digital media industry. Secondly, the paper studies the current status of Digital Media Design-related undergraduate education from the policy of Chinese Ministry of Education and the practice of representative universities. Through questionnaire survey of Digital Media Designers from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, the paper points out the problems of China Digital Media Design related undergraduate education. Finally, paper brings forward the right direction of new system of China Digital Media Design related undergraduate education.

  • Domestic digital signage industry has been growing in line with the Internet and intelligent devices like smart phones. However, policies for digital signage need to be supplemented because existing policies are only focused on regulations for outdoor advertisements. Moreover, while digital technologies have been developed, there are few contents technologies to support the digital technologies. In this context, this research aims to identify the problems in relation to the domestic digital signage industry and seek for measures to solve the problems. Various case studies and literature review were conducted to identify problems in terms of policy, technology and service, and measures for revitalizing the digital signage industry were suggested. The research is expected to help digital signage to serve as new convergence media available for customization targeting and user participation.

An Adaptive Digital Watermarking Using DWT and FIS

  • In this paper, a Fuzzy Inference System(FIS) based watermarking algorithm in Discrete Wavelet Transform(DWT) domain is proposed. A 2D fuzzy inference values, in which the inputs are parameters of the coefficients of the DWT block of the original image and the output is strength of watermark embedded, is devised. The fuzzy inference algorithm guarantees that the watermark to be embedded into the original image adaptively. The experimental results shows that proposed approach is robust to the digital image processing schemes.

  • In this paper, we propose a new method of background removing for digital self-adaptive acquisition in medical X-ray imaging. We analysis the construction of video digital acquisition system and main factors of acquired image quality, propose a more efficiency method to against background non-uniformly. With proposed method, non-uniform illumination back ground was well removed without image quality degradation.
