The Visual Display of Temporal Information for E-Textbook: Incorporating the Mind-mapped Timeline Authoring Tool

  • With the ever-increasing queries related to temporal (or time-related) information, such as the product launching time, in search engine, most web pages will be augmented with such information in the future. Meanwhile, the gradual emergence of the use of electronic textbooks (or e-Textbooks), which enrich the traditional paper-based textbooks with multimedia contents such as interactive quizzes and multimedia-based simulations, has led us to infer that e-Textbooks will be blended with temporal information to support learning. The use of temporal information helps teachers and students to understand the level of prior knowledge required to study a topic, as well as the sequence of learning activities and related sub-topics, that best attains the educational goals. This paper presents a simple yet efficient tool called TimeMap, which is based on mind mapping, to create an e-Textbook called TimeBook that takes account of time-related curriculum and the ability of students to learn via collaboration.

  • 인터넷 사용의 보편화로 사이버 공간이 날로 확장하고 있다. 테이프나 CD로 즐기던 음악을 PC 또는 전용 플레이어를 이용해 MP3파일로 듣기도 하고 ;이 영화만에 가시 않고도 인터넷으로 영화와 비디오를 감상하는 시대가 이미 열렸다. 또한 최근에는 파일형태로 공급되는 전자 북(E-book)리 등장해 종이 책 시장을 넘보고 있다. 그러나, 디지털 컨텐츠들은 쉽고 간편하게 원본과 똑같은 품짙로 복제할 수 있을 뿐만 아니라 상상을 초월하는 빠른 속도로 이동이 가능하여 사용자들이 불법으로 얼마든지 이용할 수 있다. 현재 국내외에서 이러한 문제를 해결하기 위해 제안한 기술로 디지털 컨텐츠들을 보호하고 관리할 수 있도록 하는 DRM(Digital Rights Management)이가는 시스템들이 제안되어 계속적으로 개밭되고 있다[1]. 디지털 컨텐츠를 보호하고 저작권을 관리하는 시스템인 DRM에는 크게 세 가지의 기본 시스템(Publisher Customer, DRM Server System)이 있다. 본 논문에서는 컨텐츠를 등록하고 저작권자가 그 컨텐츠를 관리하는 Publisher System을 키 알고리즘을 이용하여 설계한다. 설계한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 작은 화면의 스마트 폰에서 볼 수 있는 전자책을 구성하였다. 대부분의 전자책이 PDF 파일과 같이 기존의 종이책을 단지 정보처리 기기에서 보는 개념의 채용 형태이거나 제한된 규정을 통해 구성된 내용을 스마트 폰보다 화면이 큰 전용 단말기를 통해 보도록 되어 있다. 본 연구에서는 PDF나 웹 형태가 아닌 앱 형태로 컴퓨터보다도 널리 퍼져있는 스마트 폰을 통해 책을 보도록 하였다. 현재 전자책의 실질적 표준 역할을 하는 EPUB는 전용 단말기를 이용한 전자책도 텍스트형 콘텐츠 또는 잡지형 콘텐츠로 정보 처리 기기의 다양한 기능을 살리지 못하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 앱을 이용한 전자책의 초기 시도로 기존 책의 구성을 가능한 지키면서 앱의 다양한 능력을 통해 많은 편리성을 살리는 한편 특히 본문은 작은 화면에 많은 정보를 담는 것은 책을 읽는 독자에게 무리한 요구를 하는 것이므로, 본문의 내용과 관계된 이미지를 의미 단위로 토막을 내고 이를 항, 절, 장으로 구분지어 태그를 붙여 데이터베이스에 저장한 후 태그를 기반으로 본문 화면에 시간차를 두고 자동 출력하도록 하는 시도로 사용자의 편리를 도모하였다.

  • This research presented in this paper focuses on a system development for checking stator's wedge of large generator in heavy industry. The system is composed of impactor, A/D converter and digital signal processing board. Also this paper proposes a method for detection of stator's insulating state using analysis algorithm. As developed impact system is acting, impact wave is generated real time and transferred data to microprocessor. Using communication program this signal move microprocessor to hard directory of note book with 1000 data/sec. The developed system and analysis program performed very well by real stator's wedge in large generator.

  • Various digital contents generation techniques are widely utilized by upgrading PC and mobile device. In this paper, we propose sketch effect simulation based on real drawing pieces. For this, we analyze Vincent Van Gogh's drawing pieces; and then construct DB by extracting sketch stroke pattern of each object. From this database, we select stroke pattern at each object, and then, apply it. Our algorithm can generate similar effect look like real drawing piece. It may be utilized various contents such as children's painting education book.

  • 고도 정보사회의 진전에 있어 정보의 수집, 정보의 전달 등을 위해, 여러 IT기기가 사용 되어지고 있다. 이러한 상황 속에서 IT기기를 장애자나 고령자를 포함, 누구나가 쉽게 이용 할 수 있도록 하는 유니버설디자인은 매우 중요한 일이다. 특히 상체부자유자의 인터페이스 장치로서 시선입력장치가 주목 받고 있다. 이러한 시대적인 흐름에서 본 연구에서는 Eye-gaze Interface를 이용한 시선입력만으로 컴퓨터상에서 한글입력이 가능한 한글 입력 시스템을 개발 제안한다. 또한 본 연구의 목적으로는 기존의 키보드, 마우스에 의한 입력장치와 Eye-gaze Interface를 이용한 입력 장치와의 정점과 단점을 비교 분석하고, 정보 사회에 있어서의 장애자와 고령자들의 Barrier Free에 관한 연구를 기본 목적으로 하고 있다 본 연구의 Eye-gaze Interface는 Eye Tech Digital System회사의 Quick Glance System를 사용한다 장애자와 고령자를 대상으로 한 사용자 평가 실험에 의해 실험을 진행 하였으며, 한글의 음운규칙에 관한 연구를 기초로 한글뿐만 아니라 영어, 일본어가 입력 가능한 입력 시스템을 제안한다. 이것은 컴퓨터 조작이 곤란한 장애자와 고령자가 일반인과의 자연스러운 커뮤니케이션이 가능하도록 한 것이다. 향후 Eye-gaze Interface를 이용한 응용분야 또한 게임, 영상, Eye Book, 자동차운전 둥 다양한 분야에 적용 가능하리라 기대된다.

  • Smart Phone with domestic demand increasing rapidly, the utilization of multimedia services have become diverse. Smart Phone users use the copyrighted multimedia contents illegally from hacking their Smart Phone with Jail Breaking and Rooting. Legal issues according to the Korea-U.S. FTA. and high relevance with crime as mobile communication terminal, the utilization of created and saved digital evidence is high, the mobile forensic evidence study is required. This paper studied method and notice of legal seizure and search assuming the Smart Phone copyright violation. Research the status of Smart Phone copyright violation and related violation by category as broadcasting, movies, music, e-book etc. Research the method of submit a report to the court by applying techniques to forensic. The results of this research will contribute to the provide of Smart Phone crime evidence and mobile forensic technology.

Study of the Service Improvement and Revitalization Measures of Student-Centered University Library through the Book Lending Data Analysis of Freshmen (대학 신입생의 도서대출 자료 분석을 통한 학생 중심의 대학도서관 서비스 개선 및 활성화 방안 연구)

  • The reading activity of university students is the key element for the cultivation of creative human resources, and each university develops and performs the various cultural education and library program. Actually, the university libraries check the service periodically through library satisfaction surveys and the library user's actual condition survey to improve it, but the amount of reading, number of books lent and the rate of borrowers are still under expectation. Therefore, in this research, an in-depth analysis of lending books data for freshmen, as the service improvement and revitalization measures of university libraries for students, suggested the following: (1) the early education for the library users, (2) the opening of the students-participating library collections, (3) the use of the data using a library for the consulting with students (4) the establishment of the library depositary for education support, and (5) the introduction of the library CRM for individual student. Through this result, it would be substantially helpful for each university library (including two-year college), in which the number of lending books and the rate of borrowers are below expectations.

  • According as the drivers increase who have their cars, the comprehensive studies on the automobile for the traffic safety have been raised as the important problems. Visual Recognition System for radio-controled driving is a part of the sensor processor of Unmanned Autonomous Vehicle System. When a driver drives his car on an unknown highway or general road, it produces a model from the successively inputted road traffic information. The suggested Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board is to recognize and distinguish automatically a Road Traffic Safety Information Board as one of road traffic information. The whole processes of Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board suggested in this study are as follows. We took the photographs of Road Traffic Safety Information Board with a digital camera in order to get an image and normalize bitmap image file with a size of $200{\times}200$ byte with Photo Shop 5.0. The existing True Color is made up the color data of sixteen million kinds. We changed it with 256 Color, because it has large capacity, and spend much time on calculating. We have practiced works of 30 times with erosion and dilation algorithm to remove unnecessary images. We drawing out original image with the Region Splitting Technique as a kind of segmentation. We made three kinds of grouping(Attention Information Board, Prohibit Information Board, and Introduction Information Board) by RYB( Red, Yellow, Blue) color segmentation. We minimized the image size of board, direction, and the influence of rounding. We also minimized the Influence according to position. and the brightness of light and darkness with Eigen Vector and Eigen Value. The data sampling this feature value appeared after building the learning Code Book Database. The suggested Recognition System of the Road Traffic Safety Information Board firstly distinguished three kinds of groups in the database of learning Code Book, and suggested in order to recognize after comparing and judging the board want to recognize within the same group with Nearest Neighborhood Decision Making.

Digital Media Convergence and Interactivity in Film Narrative (디지털 미디어 융합과 영화 내러티브의 인터랙티비티)

  • This study has a main purpose on discussing the issue how the construction of film narrative will be changed by audience's desire to intervene into film narrative through the active participation, out of watching a film passively in movie theater. Compared with the collective theatergoing experience in big screen was defined as the past cinematic identity, the absolute value of movie theater fragmented increasingly in the era of media diversification facing with digital media convergence. As this situation can be compared with "the author's death" Roland Barthes predicted on the mono-media of the book, thus, we are to take the time to discuss the new emerging 'movies'. The most important thing in this discussion is the aspect of the transformation of narrative in the future screening. Especially, while 3 act structure and configuration evoking a catharsis in film narrative are elements defining aspect of the past narrative, then, the future narrative in film will change to the structure interacting with audience actively. This paper had a discussion how could be possible the aucience interaction in only movie valuing the passive experientiality uniquely in screening over the other media through investigating the attempts of interactive cinema so far and the possibility of future.
