  • Marbling dyeing technique shows beautiful flowing pattern because the pattern is transferred to the medium by the pigments floating onto the viscous solution base. However, this marbling pattern does not have any reproducibility and the result of accidental pattern formation. Marbling process contains many complicated procedures such as making marbling base, mordanting the medium, and bubble removal with size limitation. Computer changed the many aspects in textile design and digital technique is used in many design production. However, it is impossible to produce marbling pattern with digital drawing. In this research, the digital textile design starting from marbling pattern was developed for digital textile printing. Marbling was done to produce the initial motifs and scanned. Several marbling media such as silk, polyester, and paper were used. Photoshop was used to process and develop textile design based on these marbling motifs. One repeat was developed and various colorways were tried. The developed textile design were printed using DTP.

  • This study evaluated the current capabilities of generative AI systems, with a focus on their application in AI-driven textile design, particularly through image-generative AI systems. It also explores the potential application and commercialization of Midjourney, an image-generative AI for digital textile design development. First, ChatGPT-4 was used to analyze textile pattern design trends for 2024/2025. The theme "The Heart of the Forest," derived from Premiere Vision and Heimtextil's 2024/2025 textile trends, was selected. Keywords related to textile design were identified, and natural colors from Heimtextil were chosen. Second, images were generated in Midjourney using three commonly used functions: text, image+image, and image+text. The "/blend" feature in Midjourney was used to create images through the image+image command. Images were generated by typing "image+text" when prompted to create an image. Third, Midjourney and CLO 3D were used for performing virtual fitting. Midjourney's ability to generate perfect images from simple text inputs surpasses the capabilities of many professionals. Not only does it accelerate the design process but also enhances the quality of the designs to a professional level or higher. However, despite these advantages, copyright issues must be addressed. Therefore, we anticipate a synergistic effect when a designer's senses and sensibilities are combined with the unlimited creative possibilities of generative AI.

  • Recently the word "digital" is widely used in almost every field and is dominating this generation. Digital has become the most significant characteristic representing the 21st century, and is leading change across wide range of our life-styles in our culture and thoughts. New art is in harmony with digital in the 21st century. Digital photography is simpler, faster and newer than the analog system of the past. From ancient times, the nature has been the subject of art, and many designers have studied the ways to create beauty from nature. In this study, I chose the lotus as the subject material of textile design development. The lotus invokes a sense of stillness, and nestles many fluid elements, including the curved fluid lotus, rhythmic lotus petal, sinuous lotus leaf, radial vein, lotus pip and oval seed. Therefore, I tried to use these elements of lotus for development of textile design. For this purpose, I photographed the lotus with a digital camera as equipment of design development. Then, on computer, I have developed six textile designs through the process of modification and editing by using the adobe illustrator program.

  • Whole process of textile printing is made by computer and it remarkably improves environment problem. This digital textile printing is becoming next step environment friendly textile printing method. But, still now range of textile possible for digital textile printing is limited, and also color analysis according to fiber types is not completed. The ink printed on the fabrics through DTP printer can be absorbed and fixed into textile without any blots by pre-treatment using suitable media solution for fabrics types. The chemical formulation of media solution used in the pre-treatment process varies according to the types of textiles and inks for DTP products. First, I studied reference books or articles about color analysis of digital textile printing. Second, I recorded pre-process, printing, post-process and coloring of silk, wool, nylon at same condition. After that, I analyzed $L^*\;a^*\;b^*$, Total K/S, ${\Delta}E$ and studied color intensity and coloring. According to this study, I suggested particular textile special for coloring and manual for affective coloring control. It showed that the performance of the digital printing on the Silk, Wool and Nylon blend fabrics treated by the media solution developed in this study was better than the one treated by the previous media solution for each single inks.
