Local languages based information storage and retrieval system is essential for any online digital repository system. This paper reports the development of an interface in Bengali that allows users not only browsing and searching Indic-script based documents but also allows administrator performing various system level operations. This paper briefly describes the origin and key characteristics of Indic-scripts along with their encoding in Unicode standard with special reference to Bengali language. It also demonstrates the development processes of Bengal-script based information representation and retrieval (IRR) system viz. BURA (Burdwan University Research Archive) using different open standard and open source software (OSS) including different factors essential for building such successful Indic-script based multilingual digital libraries. The suggested strategies may help digital library developers to design an appropriate multi-script based information access services in any other Indic-script based languages.

The paper discusses the nature of Knowledge Organization Systems (KOSs) and shows how these can support digital library users. It demonstrates processes related to integration of KOS like the Dewey Decimal Classification, $22^{nd}$ edition (DDC22) in DSpace software (http://www.dspace.org/) for organizing and retrieving (browsing and searching) scholarly objects. An attempt has been made to use the DDC22 available in Bengali language and highlights the required mechanisms for system-level integration. It may help a repository administrator to build an IDR (Institutional Digital Repository) integrated with SKOS-enabled multilingual subject access systems for supporting subject descriptors based indexing (DC.Subject metadata element), structured navigation (browsing) and efficient searching.

이 연구에서는 생산자 중심의 개인기록 전자출판 리포지토리 구축 모형(안)과 운영 모델의 실질적인 적용을 위해 필요한 세 가지 운영 프로세스를 제안하였다. 1) DSpace 기반 전자출판 리포지토리 구축을 위한 필수 요소로 생산자 중심의 서비스 제공, 운영 주체, 운영 및 관리방안에 대한 사전 논의와 검토, 디지털 개인기록 생산자의 리포지토리 활성화방안, 저작권문제, 개발 및 보급과정, 법적인 체제구축 등을 제안한다. 2) 리포지토리 모형은 이러한 요소들을 고려하여 생산자 중심의 순환구조로 구축한다. 3) 여러기관이 연계한 리포지토리 모형을 통해 콘텐츠 배포와 키워드 검색, 사용 통계, 추천 시스템, 오픈 엑세스 등의 다양한 서비스를 개인 이용자와 포탈업체, 전자출판사에게 동일하게 제공한다.

Institutional repositories are essential research infrastructures for research-based universities. A properly dimensioned institutional repository has the potential to increase research impact and enhance the visibility of an institution through its scholarly outputs. The aim of the study reported in this paper was to design and develop a web-based digital repository for scholarly communications using NM-AIST as a case study. The system was developed using open source software. Findings obtained from system validation tests show that the system is a viable solution to the major challenges encountered in the management and sharing of scholarly information at the institution.

디지털 콘텐츠를 보존하기 위한 아카이빙 시스템은 주로 도서관, 박물관에서 활용되고 있다. 이 중 대학교 도서관에서는 논문, 연구 보고서 등 연구업적에 대한 보존 활동이 주로 이루어지고 있지만, 상대적으로 교육자료에 대한 보존활동은 주목 받지 못하고 있는 실정이다. 본 연구의 목적은 교수업무의 전반적인 과정을 장기적으로 보존할 수 있는 리포지토리를 설계하고 이를 구축하는 것이다. 교육 리포지토리 설계를 위해 아카이빙 대상을 먼저 선정한 뒤, 교육자료의 장기적 보관에 적합한 디지털 포맷을 논의한다. 설계가 완료된 후 이를 바탕으로 대표적 리포지토리 소프트웨어인 DSpace, EPrints, Fedora, 그리고 Omeka를 이용하여 리포지토리를 구축하고 이에 대한 비교분석결과를 제시한다.

본 연구에서 구축된 디지털도서관의 프로토타입은 디지털 리포지토리, 필터, 색인 및 검색, 클라이언트의 간단한 구조로 되어 있다. 디지털 리포지토리는 여러 가지 유형의 문서유형과 다양한 형태의 데이터베이스로 구성된다. 필터는 다양한 문헌의 포맷을 인식하고 문헌각각의 조직적인 요소를 지능적으로 구분하는 역할을 수행한다. 본 시스템은 관계형 데이터 베이스 관리시스템인 ORACLE과 ConText를 이용하여 구성되었으며 새로운 객체의 분석 및 조직화, 색인기술의 적용을 용이하게 처리할 수 있다.

본 연구는 복합저장소 구축 방법과 복합지식 프로세스 개발을 위한 기술적 방법을 제안하였다. 본 연구에서 제안한 복합지식 저장소에 저장되는 데이터 대상은 복합지식 메타데이터와 디지털 자원 모두를 포함하며, 사용목적에 따라 사용자 역할, 기능적 요소, 서비스 범주로 나눌 수 있다. 이 세 가지 요소는 저장소의 추상적 모델을 설명하는 기본적인 구성요소이다. 본 연구에서는 복합지식의 메타데이터를 2가지 요소로 구분하여 정의하였다. Component는 지식을 사용하고 생성하는 주체나 활동단위, 리소스 자체 등에 대한 속성을 나타내고, Context는 지식객체가 포함되어 있는 맥락을 나타낸다. 복합지식 프로세스 Agent는 복합지식의 분류와 등록, 검색, 패턴 정보 관리 등의 역할을 수행하고 복합지식 저장소와 사용자 사이의 데이터 흐름과 처리를 담당한다. 복합지식 프로세스 Agent는 데이터의 검색과 추출, 분산 환경에서 데이터 교환을 위한 데이터의 수집과 출력, 저장된 데이터의 추가, 변경 등이 발생한 것을 알려주는 경고, 데이터의 저장과 등록, 메타데이터 조회 후 원하는 물리적 자료를 요청하는 요청과 전달 등의 기능으로 구성하였다. 본 연구에서 개발하고자하는 추천시스템을 위한 복합지식저장소 구축은 산업 현장에서 적시에 다양한 콘텐츠를 사용자에게 제시함으로서 일과 학습이 동시에 일어날 수 있도록 하여 시의적절한 지식을 실시간 가시화함으로써 학습 생산성을 증대하는데 도움을 줄 수 있다.

The digital government is one of the most significant areas of study to emerge in information science in the past several years. The digital government is, in broad terms, a computerized system that allows a community of users to obtain a coherent means of access to an organized, electronically stored repository of information and knowledge. The information resources and technologies embodied by the World Wide Web are now accepted ad the primary example of the digital government. The need exists for a means to measure user success in the digital government. Because a digital government environment involves two broad functions?1) information search and retrieval and 2) interactivity with and through the medium-this research posits that measures of both of these functions will show positive correlation with user success.

In this paper, we studied on the effective structure of an e-Learning Korean Support System for foreigner based on computer systems which is to obey the rules of IMS/AICC International Standard regulations based on LCMS and SCORM. The most important task on this study is to support the function of self-study module through the review of the analysis and results of Korean learning and learning customs. We studied the effective PMS detail modules as well as the Standard Competency Module Management System, which related to LMS/LCMS, Learning an Individual Competency Management System, Competency Registry/Repository System, Knowledge Management System based on Community Competency Module, Education e-survey System and Module learning Support Service System. We suggested one of standard Effective Model of learning Korean Support System which is adopted in a various techniques for foreigner.

본 연구는 점차로 확대되고 있는 실버 관련 전문정보의 체계적인 수집과 관리에 대한 요구를 바탕으로 멀티미디어 DB를 기반으로 한 실버포탈사이트를 구축하고 실버 관련 정보제공을 위한 디지털 콘텐츠 개발을 통하여 실버형 멀티미디어 정보 시스템을 구축하고자 한다. 또한 온-오프라인을 포괄하는 노인전문 온톨로지 기반 정보저장소를 구축하고자 한다. 실버형 정보를 분석하여 각 정보에 대한 의미적 관계를 추출하고 각종 어휘에 대한 계층적 구조를 파악하고 이를 통한 에이전트별 기능을 설계하여 온톨로지 기반 정보저장소를 설계 구축한다. 또한, 다양한 정보 및 디지털 콘텐츠를 개발하여 국내 노인복지시설에 대한 체계적인 멀티미디어 DB망을 구축하고 국내의 각 노인복지 시설에 대한 자동 등록이 가능한 웹 프레임웍을 개발하여, 업체별 시설별 이용현황과 통계 현황을 지원할 수 있도록 설계하였다.
