유비쿼터스 주택 거실 가구의 디지털 컨버젼스화를 위한 소비자 요구 분석 (An Analysis of the Customer Demand for Digital Convergence of the Furniture in the Living Space of Ubiquitous Home)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the customer demand for design development of digital convergence furniture in the living space of the ubiquitous home. This study used the individual survey method and was collected from July 1 to 20, 2008. The frequency and percentage were used for data analysis by SPSS window's 12. The results of the study were as follows: The first, a lot of survey targets were 30-40 years old, university graduates, over 50,000,000 won in annual income and 30-40 pyung in house size. The second, what types of activity were carried out in the living room were acquisition of knowledge>entertainment activity>communication activity>household chores. The third, what types of furniture were used in the living room were A/V furniture>table>sofa>computer table>bookself. The forth, customers preferred to picture telephone service in sociality, home-theater service in entertainment and home appliances remote control service in information service. The fifth, the digital functions which can integrate with the living roon furniture, in the item for A/V furniture, was front door control function which recognizes visitors with the screen. In the item for table was function to search internet and for sofa was self purification function. Finally, the digital convergence furniture is not only for one activity but also for various types of activities that can comprehensively function to materialize the concept of comfortable furniture in the living space.

온라인 커뮤니티에서 자기표현욕구의 영향요인과 디지털 아이템 구매의도에 미치는 효과 (The Antecedents of Need for Self-Presentation and the Effect on Digital Item Purchase Intention in an Online Community)

  • Lots of virtual communities and online businesses presently derive their primary sources of revenues through advertising, but nevertheless are plagued with marginal profitability though they might possess a significant user base. In the light of the need for an efficacious business model, there have been recent insights of an online community in particular reaping profits through an innovative and lucrative revenue generation method that earns by selling digital items. There have been some obvious evidences (e.g., Cyworld, SecondLife, Habo Hotel, etc.) that online communities can be profitable through their unique business model of selling digital items. However, there is lack of understanding about the motivation of purchasing digital items. This study tries to identify the main motivators of digital item purchases based on social/individual identity theory and self-presentation theory. "Digital items", otherwise known as "virtual assets", may include online avatars, accessories for the avatars, decorative ornaments like furniture, digital wallpapers, skins, background music and virtual weapons used for Internet games. These digital items are employed by users for representation and articulation in the online space, especially to create and enhance their online profiles in web pages and games. Prices for digital items typically range from a few cents to a few dollars each. Based on the theoretical framework like social identity theory and self-presentation theory, we developed the research model and proposed seven hypotheses. An analysis of 225 members of Cyworld found that digital item purchase intention in virtual world is affected by both members' need for self-presentation and need for affiliation. We also found that the need for self-presentation is significantly increased by innovativeness of members, community group norm, and community involvement. We concluded that the need for self-presentation could be a key variable for profitable business model in online community service industry. However, neither individual self-efficacy nor the need for affiliation significantly influenced the need for self-presentation which triggers purchase intention of digital items. In term of the theoretical and practical contribution, this study can be a pioneering empirical research that investigates the purchase intention of digital items based on social identity theory and self-presentation theory in the online context. Also, the findings of our study are valuable and practical for practitioners in the market who wish to adopt or improve the business model of selling digital items in an online community. From the findings, it can be seen that innovativeness of users, community group norm, and community involvement are three significant factors that influence need for self-presentation of users which ultimately leads to their intentions to buy digital items. These findings put forth that virtual community providers and online businesses selling digital items should prioritize their efforts and focus on these three factors if they want to increase the sales of these digital items and generate greater revenues. This study provides important implications for academic researchers and practitioners to understand why the community members pay money for their digital items in virtual world and how the practitioners can increase the sales of digital items in an online community. A couple of limitations of the study and future research directions are also discussed.

MPEG-21 환경에서 툴 서버의 역할과 기능 (The Role and Function of Tool server in MPEG-21)

  • 이 논문에서는 MPEG-21 환경에서의 툴 서버의 역할과 기능을 제안한다. MPEG-21의 목적은 멀티미디어 콘텐츠의 전자적 생성, 배포, 거래를 투명하게 이용할 수 있게 하여 상호 운용 가능한 멀티미디어 프레임워크를 제공하는 데에 그 목적이 있다. MPEG-21을 구성하는 주 요소로서 DIP(Digital Item Processing)과 DIA(Digital Item Adaptation)이 있다. DIP는 디지털 리소스에 메타 데이터 정보를 구조화하여 표현할 수 있는 DI(Digital Item)를 생성하고 소비하는 기능을 가진다. DIA는 사용자가 터미널 또는 네트워크 특성에 맞게 고유의 DI를 적응시켜서 보내주는 기능을 한다. 툴 서버(Tool server)는 DIP 또는 DIA로부터 필요로 하는 소프트웨어 툴을 검색하여 적합한 툴을 제공해 주는 기능을 한다. DIA가 DI 자체를 사용자 요구에 맞게 적응시켜 소비시켜 주는 일을 한다면 툴 서버는 터미널 환경에 맞추어 DI를 소비하는데 적합한 툴을 찾아서 구동시켜 주는 기능을 한다. 본 논문에서는 DIP와 DIA에서 사용되는 툴 서버에 대한 역할과 기능을 제안한다. 이 논문은 다음과 같이 구성된다. 1장에서 MPEG-21 환경에서 툴 서버의 필요성과 역할을 알아본다. 그리고 2장에서는 툴 서버의 구조와 각 모듈별 기능을 살펴본다. 3장에서는 툴 서버를 DIP와 연동했을 때 시나리오를 설명한다. 마지막 4장에서 결론을 맺는다.

  • MPEG-21의 주요 요소 중 하나인 Digital Item Adaptation(DIA)은 사용자 선호도(User Preferences) 및 터미널 능력(Terminal Capabilities)에 따라 적응 변환된 디지털 아이템(digital item)을 제공한다. 본 논문은 MPEG-21 프레임워크에서 입체 영상 디지털 아이템의 적응을 구현하는 DIA 테스트베드의 구현을 목적으로 한다. 사용자 선호도에는 입체시차 종류, 깊이 범위, 지연 영상 간격 등이 있다. 터미널 능력으로는 코덱, 입체 랜더링 포맷, 디스플레이 타입 등이 있다. 상기 기술자들은 DIA 서버로 전송되어 적응된 입체영상이 생성되머, 또한 변환된 입체영상 DI는 사용자의 요구에 따라 MPEG-2 또는 MPEG-4로 엔코딩되어 전송된다. 클라이언트는 DIA 서버에서 전송되는 입체영상 DI를 받아 디코딩 한 후 디스플레이 하게 된다. 서버의 DIA는 입체 DI의 실시간 전송을 위하여 RTP와 RTSP를 사용하여 전송한다.

  • This study aim to suggest how alter the korean traditional image design for umbrellas by sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Umbrellas are highly depend on design and made from polyester fiber which is proper item to utilize sublimation transfer digital textile printing. Sublimation transfer digital textile printing system can use computer system to create the delicate high dense images and one full layout through the hole umbrella. It can create distinctive style of design compare with former screen printing umbrella design. As a result of this study, Korean traditional images were adopted and recreated for umbrellas as the modern practical item. 7 of umbrella designs were developed and sample umbrellas could be produced in short period comparing with screen printing process. Through this study, as green printing process, sublimation transfer digital textile printing will be more applied to manufacture high quality textile products along with design development, thus it is expected as an alternative plan to leads growth of umbrella industries.

  • Cell type packaging line is more suitable for the products with various models and small quantities like mobile phone or mp3 player than conveyor type packaging line. Cell type packaging line is applicable to package various product models, but it can cause wrong product compositions and missing of items. So, automatic missing item detection system is needed. We designed an missing item detection system with a bar code reader, infrared sensors, and s digital camera. and also developed the programs for sensor data acquisition, image data processing, GUI, and data management.

  • 본 논문에서는 MPEG-21 Digital Item Adaptation(DIA)에 의한 워터마크 신호의 영향을 실험하고 분석한다. MPEG-21 DIA에서는 다양한 소비환경에 맞게 멀티미디어 컨텐츠를 변할 수 있는 기능들을 제공하고 있다. 그러나 컨텐츠 변환기능들은 저작권 보호를 위해 컨텐츠에 삽입된 워터마크신호를 홰손시킬 수 있으므로, DIA 환경에서 워터마킹기술을 사용하기 위해서는 워터마킹기술에 대한 DIA의 영향을 분석할 필요가 있다. 본 논문에서는 일반적으로 널리 알려진 대표적인 워터마킹기술을 이용하여 MPEG-21 DIA에서 정의하고 있는 각각의 적응변환기능에 대한 워터마크의 강인성을 실험하여, 그 결과를 바탕으로 DIA 환경에서 워터마킹기술을 적용할 때 필요한 요구사항을 분석하였다.

  • This paper presents the role and its function of Tool server. MPEG-21 means multimedia framework for delivery and consumption of multimedia which is being discussed in ISO/IEC 21000. A view of MPEC-21 aims to define multimedia framework to enable transparent use of multimedia resource across a wide range of networks and devices used by different communities. MPEG-21 will enable all-electronic creation delivery and trade of digital multimedia content and transparent usage of various content types on network device. Therefore, we can provide access to information and services from almost anywhere at anytime with various terminals and networks. In order to support multimedia delivery chain that contains content creation, production, delivery and consumption, we need many standards(elements) for identify, describe, manage and protect the content. Thus, we define Digital Item Player(DIP), Digital Item Adaptation(DIA) server and Tool server as primary objects of MPEG-21 multimedia framework. DIP provides a function which creates and consumes Digital Item(DI) as a kind of a digital object by user. A DI contains both media resources and metadata including rights information. DIA server deals with the usage environment description schema of the user characteristics, terminal and network characteristics and natural environments. DIA server adapts the original DI to the usage environment description sent from the terminal and transmits the adapted DI to the terminal. Tool server searches for a tool requested from DIP or DIA and downloads the best tool to DIP or DIA server. In this paper, we present how Tool sewer is organized and is used among 2 primary objects. The paper is structured as followings: Section 1 briefly describes why MPEG-21 is needed and what MPEG-21 wants. We see requirement that tool server must equip functionally in section 2. The proposed tool server,its structure and its functionality are presented in section 3. Section 4 explains a scenario that tool server transmits tool to DIP and shows the experimental result. The paper concludes in section 5.

인터넷 쇼핑에서의 의복구매행동과 라이프스타일과의 관계 연구 - 인터넷 이용자를 중심으로 - (A Study on the Clothing Purchasing Behavior in Internet Shopping and Its Relation to Life Style)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationships between life style and clothing purchase intention and purchase criteria in internet shopping-mall of male and female consumers. The subjects were 275 internet users (male: 164, female: 111). The results of the study were as follows. Five factors of life style derived by factor analysis:'Digital Orientation','Economy Orientation','Positive Activity','Fun Orientation', and'Home Orientation'. The dress types to be based on the purchase intention in internet shopping-mall was classified into four dimensions by factor analysis: Casual Wears & Single Item Clothes','Formal Wears','Miscellaneous Goods', and'Underwears & Night Clothes'. Internet users showed relatively high purchase intention in casual wears & single item clothes and miscellaneous goods. Clothing purchase intention in internet shopping correlated significantly with home orientation in males, and with digital orientation in females. Subjects high in fun orientation placed importance on design as clothing purchase criteria. Males high in positive activity placed importance on price, color, sewing, brand, and wearing appearance. Females high in digital orientation believed design, color, material, refundment condition, and fashionability were important as purchase criteria. The level of digital orientation of dress purchasers in internet shopping-mall was higher than that of non-purchasers in case of males, and that of fun orientation was higher than that of non-purchasers in case of females. The present findings suggest that life style such as digital orientation and home orientation appeared to be important in predicting the clothing purchase intention in internet shopping mall.

A Study on the Effectiveness of LMS for Improving College Student's Mathematics Performance using a Propensity Score Matching Method

  • This study aims to verify the practical effectiveness of learning management system (LMS) by introducing a LMS enhancing digital assessment utilizing automatic item generation in order to strengthen college student's mathematics performance. Teaching assisted with digital assessment in the LMS was applied to college mathematics classes, and the research question is whether or not students in the classes utilizing the LMS perform better than the regular classes. In particular, a calculus course, which is the foundation of important artificial intelligence technology in the future, was utilized in this study. The participants of this study were 248 freshmen in science and engineering who were taking calculus courses at a small to mid-size university. A total of 156 freshmen were selected after applying a propensity score matching method (PSMM), 78 from classes utilizing the LMS and 78 from regular classes without the LMS assisted with the digital assessment. As a result, it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in the math academic growth of students who used the LMS and those who did not. In other words, when LMS was used in calculus, students' academic growth was greater. The results of this study are meaningful in that they observed students' academic growth and confirmed that LMS enables a positive role in students' academic growth. In addition, if digital assessment is strengthened and LMS that enables individualized learning analysis is introduced and implemented in educational institutions, it is expected to play a major role in strengthening students' academic performance.
