  • A microprocessor for the dedicated purpose of digital filtering has been designed and constructed. A microsequencer to control the flowing of data is designed with the concept of a hardware compiler of AHPI, statements. In order to save the processing time, this system utilizes parallel data calculation method instead of the one proposed by Peled and Liu which depended on serial calculation method. The flexible program control technique has been applied to the implementation of the sepcialprocessor for the digital signal processing.

  • A new approach to the measurement of muscle fatigue by adaptive digital filtering algorithm is proposed. Unlike previously reported methods, it can estimate the muscle fatigue at every sample as the EMG signal statistics change. As a result, the muscle conduction velocity ranged between 4.2-5m/s at low tension and 3-4m/s at fatigue state.

  • A 2-D digital filter with rational frequency response can be expanded into an infinite sequence of filterins operations. Each filtering operation can be implemented by convolution with a Low-order 20D finite-extent impulse response. If a convergence constraint is satisfied, the sequence of estimates will approach the desired output signal. In practice, as the number of iterations is finite, the frequency response implemented by iterative computations is an approximation to the desired rational frequency response.

  • This paper presents a wavelet-based digital watermarking technique for still images. The digital watermarking considering human visual system (HVS) to increase the robustness and perceptual invisibility of digital watermark. The watermarking embedding is modified discrete wavelet transform (DWT) coefficients of the subbands of the images. The human visual system is number of factors that effect the noise sensitivity of human eyes that is considered to increase the robustness and perceptual invisibility of digital watermark. The watermark detection is blind watermark ( original image is not required ). Experimental results successful against attacks by image processing such as add noise, cropping, filtering, JPEG and JPEG2000 compression.

  • The quality of orthoimages mainly depends on the elevation information and exterior orientation (EO) parameters. Since LiDAR data directly provides the elevation information over the earth's surface including buildings and trees, the concept of true orthorectification has been rapidly developed and implemented. If a LiDAR-driven digital surface model (DSM) is used for orthorectification, the displacements caused by trees and buildings are effectively removed when compared with the conventional orthoimages processed with a digital elevation model (DEM). This study utilized LiDAR data to generate orthorectified digital aerial images. Experimental orthoimages were produced using digital terrain model (DTM) and DSM. For the preparation of orthorectification, EO components, one of the inputs for orthorectification, were adjusted with the ground control points (GCPs) collected from the LiDAR point data, and the ground points were extracted by a filtering method used in a previous research. The orthoimage generated by DSM corresponded more closely to non-ground LiDAR points than the orthoimage produced by DTM.

  • A large set of linear equations which arise in many applications, such as in digital signal processing, image filtering, estimation theory, numerical analysis, etc. involve the problem of a tridiagonal matrix. In this paper, the determinant, eigenvalue and inverse matrix of a tridiagoanl matrix are analytically evaluated.

  • For digital TV, the recommendation of u-health personalized service of semantic environment should be done after evaluating individual physical condition, illness and health condition. The existing recommendation method of u-health personalized service of semantic environment had low user satisfaction because its recommendation was dependent on ontology for analyzing significance. We propose the personalized service recommendation method based on Naive Bayesian Classifier for u-health service of semantic environment in digital TV. In accordance with the proposed method, the condition data is inferred by using ontology, and the transaction is saved. By applying naive bayesian classifier that uses preference information, the service is provided after inferring based on user preference information and transaction formed from ontology. The service inferred based on naive bayesian classifier shows higher precision and recall ratio of the contents recommendation rather than the existing method.

  • Recently, with the sharp increase of digital visual media such as photographs, animations, and digital videos, it has been necessary to generate mosaic blocks in a static or dynamic image intentionally or unintentionally. In this paper, we suggest a new method for detecting mosaic blocks contained in a color image using boundary features. The suggested method first extracts Canny edges in the image and finds candidate mosaic blocks with the boundary features of mosaic blocks. The method then determines real mosaic blocks after filtering out non-mosaic blocks using geometric features like size and elongatedness features. Experimental results show that the proposed method can detect mosaic blocks robustly rather than other methods in various types of input images.
