Method of Generating Information Signals in the System Industrial Internet of Things

  • Industrial facilities that use modern IT technologies require the ensured reliability and security of information in automated enterprise management. Concurrently, so as to ensure a high quality of communication, it is necessary to expand the bandwidth of communication channels, which are limited by the physical parameters of the radio frequency spectrum. In order to overcome this contradiction, we propose the application of technology fundamental to ultra-wideband signals, in which the ratio between the bandwidth and its central part is greater than "one". For this reason, the information signal is emitted without a carrier frequency - simultaneously within the entire frequency band - provided that the signal level is lower than the noise level. For the transmission of information content, the method of positional-time coding is used, in which each information bit is encoded by hundreds of ultrashort pulses that arrive within a certain sequence. Mathematical models of signals and values observed in wireless communication systems with autocorrelation reception of modulated ultra-wideband signals are furthermore recommended. These assist in identifying features of the dependence of the error probability on the normalized signal-to-noise ratio and the signal base. Comparative analysis has shown that the best noise immunity of the systems considered in this paper is the communication system, which uses the time separation of the reference and information signals. During the first half of the bit interval, the switch closes the output of the transmitter directly to the generator of the ultra-wideband signal - forming a reference signal. In the middle of the bit interval, the switch alternates the output to one of two possible positions depending on the encoding signal - "zero" or "one", forming the information part of the ultra-wideband signal. It should also be noted that systems with autocorrelation reception and separate transmission of reference and information signals, provide a high level of structural signal secrecy. Furthermore, they provide the reliable transmission of digital information, especially in interference conditions.

Utilizing the n-back Task to Investigate Working Memory and Extending Gerontological Educational Tools for Applicability in School-aged Children

  • In this research, a cohort of two children, aged 7-8 years, was selected to participate in a specialized three-week training program aimed at enhancing their working memory. The program consisted of three sessions, each lasting approximately 30 minutes. The primary goal was to investigate the impact and developmental trajectory of working memory in school-aged children. Working memory plays a significant role in young children's learning and daily activities. To address the needs of this demographic, products should offer both educational and enjoyable activities that engage working memory. Digital educational tools, known for their flexibility, are suitable for both older individuals and young children. By updating software or modifying content, these tools can be effectively repurposed for young learners without extensive hardware changes, making them both cost-effective and practical. For example, memory training games initially designed for older adults can be adapted for young children by altering images, music, or storylines. Furthermore, incorporating elements familiar to children, like animals, toys, or fairy tales, can increase their engagement in these activities. Historically, working memory capabilities have been assessed predominantly through traditional intelligence tests. However, recent research questions the adequacy of these behavioral measures in accurately detecting changes in working memory. To bridge this gap, the current study utilized electroencephalography (EEG) as a more sophisticated and precise tool for monitoring potential changes in working memory after the training. The research findings were revealing. Participants showed marked improvement in their performance on n-back tasks, a standard measure for evaluating working memory. This improvement post-training strongly supports the effectiveness of the training program. The results indicate that such targeted and structured training programs can significantly enhance the working memory abilities of children in this age group, providing promising implications for educational strategies and cognitive development interventions.

2024 DLS 목록입력규칙을 위한 지침 개발 시 고려사항에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Considerations for Developing the Guidelines for 2024 DLS Cataloging Rules)

  • 학교도서관업무지원시스템이 2024년 독서로 DLS로 새로 개발되었으나 DLS를 위한 목록규칙은 초창기 개발된 이후 크게 변경되지 않았으며, 현재 개발된 지침도 2020년에 작성된 것으로 새로운 개정이 필요한 상황이다. 이에 본 연구에서는 DLS의 목록입력규칙 적용을 위한 지침 개발 시 고려사항을 KCR4에 준하여 제안하고자 기존 DLS(Ver. 2.0) 목록입력규칙 및 2024 DLS 목록입력규칙, 2020년 서지등록가이드(Ver. 2.2)를 상호비교하였다. 이를 바탕으로 데이터요소 변경 및 확대, 내용규칙의 수정, 접근점 기록 방안, 통제어휘집 개발의 측면에서 고려사항을 제안하였다. 본 연구를 통해 앞으로 DLS 목록입력규칙의 개정, 지침의 개발, 시스템 개선 등에 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • 도서관은 어린이들이 신기술을 활용할 수 있는 기회를 적극적으로 제공하는 공공기관으로, 미래 세대를 위한 다양한 기술 기반 정보 시스템의 영향력에 대한 이해가 필요하다. 증강 현실(Augmented Reality)은 최근 어린이들의 교육, 치료, 여가 등 다양한 분야에 활발히 적용되고 있는 기술이다. 그러나 이러한 발전에도 불구하고 어린이들의 AR에 대한 인식과 요구에 대한 연구는 제한적인 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 공동 디자인 세션을 통해 AR 기술에 대한 어린이들의 인식과 요구를 직접적으로 조사하고자 하였다. 'Would You Rather?' 기법을 통해 어린아이들은 AR 기술에 대한 경계와 기대를 동시에 가지고 있으며, AR 기술 환경을 현실 세계의 확장으로 간주한다는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 향후 도서관에서 어린이를 위한 AR 콘텐츠를 개발할 때에 고려해야 하는 요소를 제안한다는 점에서 의의를 지닌다.

PBL과 협력적 교수법을 적용한 융합 교과목 개발 (Developing a convergence course applying project-based learning and collaborative teaching methods)

  • This study aimed to develop a new convergence course applying project-based learning (PBL) and collaborative teaching methods and identify its educational effects. The course development proceeded as follows: First, three instructors collaborated to define course goals, plan objectives, content, and methods, and create a syllabus for a PBL-based fashion studio course. Roles were divided to maximize expertise: one instructor focused on fashion design, another on three-dimensional cutting, and the third on flat cutting, and digital techniques. Second, the classes were conducted and feedback on student progress was shared, enhancing class quality and engagement. Third, teaching effectiveness was assessed through learner evaluation questionnaires, reflection journals, and performance assessments. Lastly, based on the results from these evaluations, positive aspects of the course were reviewed, and ways to modify it and enhance course quality for continuous improvement were explored. The results showed high satisfaction with the learning effects on major competencies, indicating that students not only effectively learned major skills but also improved their communication and teamwork. The students perceived the teaching methods positively allowing them to be more active in class. Instructors noted that the course produced higher-quality design and production outcomes compared to previous courses. Overall, the course applying PBL and collaborative teaching methods was found to improve educational quality and effectiveness, making it a valuable approach for learner-centered education.

Work Environment and Depressive Symptoms of Webtoon Writers

  • Background: Webtoon, a digital form of comics created in the Republic of Korea, has spread widely with advantages that anyone can become a cartoonist and that autonomy of creation is guaranteed. The purpose of this study is to identify the working conditions of webtoon writers and analyze the relationship between these conditions and depressive symptoms. Methods: A survey was carried out on webtoon writers and a survey data of 312 webtoon writers were analyzed. The questionnaire included basic socio-demographic characteristics, webtoon writers' contractual type, fields of activity (webtoon creator, story writer, illustrator), and working environment (labor discretion etc.). We investigated depressive symptoms and analyzed its relation to the work environment of webtoon writers. Results: Webtoon writers were exposed to long working hours, high labor intensity, limited labor discretion, negative comments from readers, and had a high prevalence of depressive symptoms. Compared to story writers who contracted directly with platforms, story writers and the illustrators who contracted with content providers (CPs) were 9.51 times (OR = 9.51, 95% CI = 1.47 - 61.33) and 6.47 times (OR = 6.47, 95% CI = 1.08 - 38.75) more likely to have depressive symptoms, respectively. Conclusions: This study emphasizes the urgent necessity to improve the overall working environment in the webtoon industry and implement measures to tackle the escalating mental health challenges faced by illustrators and story writers contracted with CPs, especially given the increasing popularity of novel comics.

유튜브 쇼츠(Youtube Shorts)의 스낵컬처(Snack Culture)현상 요인 분석: 사용자의 인지된 가치를 중심으로 (A Study on the Snack Culture Phenomenon in YouTube Shorts : Focused on Users' Perceived Value)

  • 본 연구는 스낵컬처 현상 안에서 사용자들이 유튜브 쇼츠를 사용하는 행태를 분석 및 정의하며 숏폼 콘텐츠의 주요 가치 요인을 분석하여 숏폼 영상의 제작 전략을 제안하는 데 목적을 두고 있다. 이를 위해 선행연구를 통해 유튜브 쇼츠 콘텐츠의 7가지 특성 요인(유희성, 시간 보내기, 정보제공, 사회적 실재감, 상호작용성, 현실도피, 간결성)과 육하원칙에 따라 사용자의 사용 행태를 분석할 기준을 도출하였고, 이를 기준으로 설문조사와 심층 인터뷰를 진행하였다. 실험 결과, 숏폼 콘텐츠에 있어서 사용자에게 주요한 가치는 유희성, 시간 보내기, 간결성, 상호작용성으로 나타났다. 사용 행태 분석 결과 첫 번째로 사용자들은 유튜브 쇼츠를 목적 없이 이용한다는 것을 발견하였다. 두 번째로 유튜브 쇼츠를 시청하며 연속적으로 10~20개의 콘텐츠를 선택적으로 시청한다는 점을 발견하였고, 세 번째로 편안한 시청환경에서 주로 유튜브 쇼츠를 사용한다는 점을 발견하였다. 본 연구를 통해 스낵컬처 현상 안에서 사용자들의 유튜브 쇼츠 소비 행태에 대한 이해를 높이고, 크리에이터 입장에서 숏폼 영상을 제작할 때 고려해야 할 요소들과 전략에 대한 실무적인 함의를 제공할 수 있을 것으로 기대한다.

Prospects For the Development Of Distance Educational Learning Technologies During The Training Of Students Of Higher Education

  • This article identifies the problems and substantiates the directions for the development of distance learning technologies in the training of personnel. An example of using digital media to create a remote access laboratory is given. The article is devoted to the definition of the main aspects of the organization of distance education. Rapid digitization, economic, political and social changes taking place in Ukraine necessitate the reform of the education system. First of all, it concerns meeting the educational needs of citizens throughout their lives, providing access to educational and professional training for all who have the necessary abilities and adequate training. The most effective solution to the above-mentioned problems is facilitated by distance learning. The article analyzes the essence and methods of distance learning organization, reveals the features of the use of electronic platforms for the organization of this form of education in different countries of the world. The positive characteristics of distance learning are identified, namely: extraterritoriality; savings on transport costs; the interest of modern youth in the use of information tools in everyday life; increase in the number of students; simplicity and accessibility of training; convenient consultation system; democratic relations between the student and the teacher; convenience for organizations in training their employees without interrupting their regular work; low level of payment for distance education compared to traditional education; individual learning pace; new teacher status. Among the negative features of online education, the author refers to the following problems: authentication of users during knowledge verification, calculation of the teacher's methodological load and copyright of educational materials; the high labor intensity of developing high-quality educational content and the high cost of distance learning equipment; the need to provide users with a personal computer and access to the Internet; the need to find and use effective motivation mechanisms for education seekers.

AI 기술의 영상제작 분야 영향력 확대에 관한 전망과 쟁점 (Prospects and Issues on the Expansion of AI Tech's Influence in Film Creation)

  • One More Pumpkin 작품이 2023년 두바이 국제 AI 영화제에서 대상을 수상하고, 국내 최초로 개최된 국제 AI·메타버스 영화제(GAMFF)를 통해서도 새로운 가능성이 열렸다. 본 대회에는 AI와 메타버스 기술을 활용한 국내외 42개국 527편의 다양한 작품이 응모되는 등 생성형 작품들이 본격적으로 두각을 나타내기 시작했다. AI는 VFX와의 결합을 통한 디지털 캐릭터의 생성 및 구현, 영상 제작의 효율성 향상, 영상제작 절차 전반 관리 등 다양한 분야에서 활용되고 있다. 이에 제작에 소요되는 인적·물적 자원을 절약하고, 제작된 영상물의 품질을 대폭 높이는 데에 기여하고 있다. 그러나 생성형 AI는 저작권 귀속의 모호성과 학습된 데이터셋에 내포된 윤리적 문제, 인간 감성과 창의성의 수준에 미달하는 기술적 한계도 지녔다. 이에 본 연구에서는 생성형 AI가 장차 더 많은 영역에서 영향을 줄 수 있기에 제작, 상영, 활용의 차원에서 시사점을 제언한다.

생성형 AI를 활용한 1:1 맞춤형 노인 스마트폰 교육 어플리케이션 개발 (Development of 1:1 customized Smartphone Education Application for the Elderly using Generative AI)

  • 지자체는 초고령사회로 인해 발생하는 정보 격차를 해소하기 위해 고령자를 대상으로 스마트폰 사용법 교육을 실시하고 있다. 하지만 1 대 다수의 교육 방식은 한계가 있으며, 고령자의 학습 효과가 미흡하여 어려움을 겪고 있다. 이 연구는 이러한 문제를 해결하고자 고령자가 반복 학습할 수 있는 환경을 고려하여, 오프라인 교육 현장에서 사용할 수 있는 교육용 서비스를 제안한다. 이 서비스는 생성형 AI를 사용하여 사용자가 실제로 어려워하는 부분을 식별하고, 개인별로 맞춤형 문제를 제공하여 개별화된 실습을 가능하게 한다. 이 앱을 기존의 지자체 교육 프로그램과 통합하여 활용하면, 1:1 맞춤형 교육, 시간 효율성, 그리고 교육 내용의 적절성 측면에서 스마트폰 교육의 효율성이 크게 향상될 것으로 기대된다.
