  • In this paper, we propose two 127-bit LFSR (Linear Feedback Shift Register)-based OTP (One-Time Password) generators. One is a 9-digit decimal OTP generator with thirty taps, while the other is a 12-digit OTP generator with forty taps. The 9-digit OTP generator includes only the positions of Fibonacci numbers to enhance randomness, whereas the 12-digit OTP generator includes the positions of prime numbers and odd numbers. Both proposed OTP generators are implemented on an Arduino module, and randomness evaluations indicate that the generators perform well across six criteria and are straightforward to implement with Arduino.

  • In this paper, parallel decimal fixed-point multiplier which uses the limited range of Singed-Digit number encoding and the reduction step is proposed. The partial products are generated without carry propagation delay by encoding a multiplicand and a multiplier to the limited range of SD number. With the limited range of SD number, the proposed multiplier can improve the partial product reduction step by increasing the number of possible operands for multi-operand SD addition. In order to estimate the proposed parallel decimal multiplier, synthesis is implemented using Design Compiler with SMIC 180nm CMOS technology library. Synthesis results show that the delay of proposed parallel decimal multiplier is reduced by 4.3% and the area by 5.3%, compared to the existing SD parallel decimal multiplier. Despite of the slightly increased delay and area of partial product generation step, the total delay and area are reduced since the partial product reduction step takes the most proportion.

  • The leaking of personal information is mostly occurred by internal users. The confidential information such as credit card number can be disclosed or modified by system manager easily. The secure storaging and managing scheme for sensitive data of individual and enterprise is required for distributed data management. The manager owning private data is needed to have a weight which is a right to disclose a private data. For deciding a weight, it is required that system is able to designate the level of user's right. In this paper, we propose the new algorithm named digit-independent algorithm. And we propose a new data management scheme of gathering and processing the data based on digit-independent algorithm. Our sharing and recovering scheme have the efficient computation operation for managing a large quantity of data using weight table. The proposed scheme is able to use for secure e-business data management and storage in ubiquitous computing environment.

  • Objectives : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the difference of depressive symptoms and attention between estrogen user and non-user in postmenopausal women. Methods : 30 Estrogen users and 30 non-users were participated in this study. They were all menopausal for at least 1 year and have 12 or more education years. We used BDI(Beck depression inventory), digit span and digit symbol to evaluate depressive symptoms and attention in both groups. We also measured the plasma estradiol level and identified the correlation between estradiol level and BDI, digit span and digit symbol. Results : The demographic data was not different between both groups. Estrogen users scored higher than non-users in digit span(forward) and lower than non-users in BDI. The correlation between estradiol level and BDI, digit span and digit symbol was not significant. Conclusion : Estrogen replacement therapy was effective in alleviating depressive symptoms but ineffective in improving attention in postmenopausal women.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate predictors concerning preschoolers' ability to read words, in terms of their sub-skills of alphabet knowledge, phonological awareness, and phonological processing. Fourteen literacy sub-tests and three types of reading tasks were administered to 289 kindergartners aged 4 to 6 in Busan. The main results are as follows. Sub-skills that predicted reading ability varied with children's age. Irrespective of children's age groups, knowledge of consonant names and digit naming speed commonly explained the reading of real words. In contrast, skills of syllable deletion and phoneme substitution and knowledge of alphabet composition principles were related to only 4-year-olds' reading skills. Exclusively included was digit memory in predicting 5-year-olds' reading abilities, and knowledge of vowel sounds in 6-year-olds' reading skills. The type of reading task also influenced reading ability. A few common variables such as knowledge of consonant names and vowel sounds, digit naming speed, and phoneme substitution skill explained all types of word reading. Syllable counting skills, however, had predictive value only for the reading of real words. Phoneme insertion skills and digit memory had predictive value for the reading of pseudo words and low frequency letters. Likewise, knowledge of consonant sounds and vowel stroke-adding principles were significant only for the reading of low frequency letters.

  • From an analytical perspective, we introduce a sequence of Cartier operators that act on the field of formal Laurent series in one variable with coefficients in a field of positive characteristic p. In this work, we discover the binomial inversion formula between Hasse derivatives and Cartier operators, implying that Cartier operators can play a prominent role in various objects of study in function field arithmetic, as a suitable substitute for higher derivatives. For an applicable object, the Wronskian criteria associated with Cartier operators are introduced. These results stem from a careful study of two types of Cartier operators on the power series ring ${\mathbf{F}}_q$[[T]] in one variable T over a finite field ${\mathbf{F}}_q$ of q elements. Accordingly, we show that two sequences of Cartier operators are an orthonormal basis of the space of continuous ${\mathbf{F}}_q$-linear functions on ${\mathbf{F}}_q$[[T]]. According to the digit principle, every continuous function on ${\mathbf{F}}_q$[[T]] is uniquely written in terms of a q-adic extension of Cartier operators, with a closed-form of expansion coefficients for each of the two cases. Moreover, the p-adic analogues of Cartier operators are discussed as orthonormal bases for the space of continuous functions on ${\mathbf{Z}}_p$.

  • Channel distortion degrades the performance of speech recognizer in telephone environment. It mainly results from the bandwidth limitation and variation of transmission channel. Variation of channel characteristics is usually represented as baseline shift in the cepstrum domain. Thus undesirable effect of the channel variation can be removed by subtracting the mean from the cepstrum. In this paper, to improve the recognition performance of Korea connected digit telephone speech, channel compensation methods such as CMN (Cepstral Mean Normalization), RTCN (Real Time Cepatral Normalization), MCMN (Modified CMN) and MRTCN (Modified RTCN) are applied to the static MFCC. Both MCMN and MRTCN are obtained from the CMN and RTCN, respectively, using variance normalization in the cepstrum domain. Using HTK v3.1 system, recognition experiments are performed for Korean connected digit telephone speech database released by SITEC (Speech Information Technology & Industry Promotion Center). Experiments have shown that MRTCN gives the best result with recognition rate of 90.11% for connected digit. This corresponds to the performance improvement over MFCC alone by 1.72%, i.e, error reduction rate of 14.82%.

  • This paper described a voice dialing system(VDS) and its hardware implementation for a speaker-dependent recognition of Korean digit speech using duty cycle. The proposed VDS consist of integrator, leveling divider circuit and recognition program. The analog speech signal is applied to the VDS through the low-pass filter cutoff frequency is 4.5(kHz). It is thoroughly confirmed that the speaker-dependent recognition of Korean digit speech is well behaved by the hardware system. Experimental results show that the recognition rate is 64% in average for Korean digit speech. Moreover, a high recognition rate of 100% is obtained for digits; /4/, /5/, /6/, /7/, /9/, /0/.
