  • In this study, we propose this new algorithm that generates score function in ICA(Independent Component Analysis) using entropy theory. To generate score function, estimation of probability density function about original signals are certainly necessary and density function should be differentiated. Therefore, we used kernel density estimation method in order to derive differential equation of score function by original signal. After changing formula to convolution form to increase speed of density estimation, we used FFT algorithm that can calculate convolution faster. Proposed score function generation method reduces the errors, it is density difference of recovered signals and originals signals. In the result of computer simulation, we estimate density function more similar to original signals compared with Extended Infomax and Fixed Point ICA in blind source separation problem and get improved performance at the SNR(Signal to Noise Ratio) between recovered signals and original signal.

  • A numerical simulation on a primary calcinator of porcelain was performed with using Fluent to calculate the heat efficiency by studying velocity vector and temperature profile according to variables such as the location of outlet and porcelain. Control-Volume based Finite Difference Method and Up-wind scheme are used for discretization of differential equation. SIMPLEC Algorithm and standard k-$\varepsilon$ turbulent model are selected to resolve the pressure-velocity coupling and the turbulent. The result of simulation showed that the whole velocity vector field in a calcinator was varied greatly according to the location of outlet. But the whole temperature profile at each zone was still high regardless of the location of outlet because of the radiation. But the temperature of a case with a outlet at sidepart of preheating or cooling zone was little high compared to the case with a outlet on the top of preheating zone. The velocity vector field and temperature profile in a calcinator were almost not affected by the location of porcelain, but the temperature inside a porcelain was much affected according to the place where it was located. The heat efficiency in a calcinator was 44.6% and the gas temperature in the outlet was about 1000 K.

  • A total of 466 foremilk from dairy farms in Chonnam district was examined for the subclinical mastitis over a period of one year, using a method of the electrical conductivities(EC); absolute conductivity(AC) and differential conductivity(DC) and quarter difference value(QD), in relation to the California mastitis test(CMT) and the direct somatic cell count(DSCC). The compatibility and efficiency rating between the EC values and the other screening tests was conducted. Obtained results are summarized as follows. 1. A linear relationship was found between the EC values and the CMT scores and direct somatic cell counts and it was found that electrical conductivity measurements were comparable with other screening tests for diagnosing animals with mastitis. 2. Compatibilities between the EC and CMT were 70.4% in AC, 74.6% in DC and 70.7% in QD, and that of the EC and DSCC were 53.0% in AC, 63.1% in DC and 53.2% in QD. On the other hand, relative efficiency ratings of Postle's equation between EC and CMT were 37.3% in AC, 26.5% in DC and 13.6% in QD, and that of the EC and DSCC were 33.1% in AC, 20.2% in DC and 11.9% in QD. 3. In the foremilk samples collected from damaged quarters determined by EC, the false positive rate wart higher than the false negative rate, and consequently tests of EC produced lower compatibility or efficiency rating scores. These tendencies suggested that any factors other than the mastitic condition influencing the EC values might be existed.

  • A general formulation for shape design sensitivity analysis over three dimensional beam structure is developed based on a variational formulation of the beam in linear elasticity. Sensitivity formula is derived based on variational equations in cartesian coordinates using the material derivative concept and adjoint variable method for the displacement and Von-Mises stress functionals. Shape variation is considered for the beam shape in general 3-dimensional direction as well as for the orientation angle of the beam cross section. In the sensitivity expression, the end points evaluation at each beam segment is added to the integral formula, which are summed over the entire structure. The sensitivity formula can be evaluated with generality and ease even by employing piecewise linear design velocity field despite the bending model is fourth order differential equation. For the numerical implementation, commercial software ANSYS is used as analysis tool for the primal and adjoint analysis. Once the design variable set is defined using ANSYS language, shape and orientation variation vector at each node is generated by making finite difference to the shape with respect to each design parameter, and is used for the computation of sensitivity formula. Several numerical examples are taken to show the advantage of the method, in which the accuracy of the sensitivity is evaluated. The results are found excellent even by employing a simple linear function for the design velocity evaluation. Shape optimization is carried out for the geometric design of an archgrid and tilted bridge, which is to minimize maximum stress over the structure while maintaining constant weight. In conclusion, the proposed formulation is a useful and easy tool in finding optimum shape in a variety of the spatial frame structures.

  • A numerical analysis was performed for a separation process of carbon dioxide from a flue gas stream using polyethersulfone hollow fiber membranes. Countercurrent flow governing equations were regarded to be two point boundary-value problem and the nonlinear ordinary differential equation were simultaneously solved using the finite- difference method. A computer program was developed using the Compaq Visual Fortran 6.6 software. The carbon dioxide permeate driving force and the fred gas residence time at the inside of membrane were found to be very important factors affecting the permeation characteristics of carbon dioxide. The carbon dioxide concentration in the permeate and the flow rate of the permeate were found to be slightly larger by a few percent with a countercurrent flow analysis than those with a cocurrent flow analysis.

  • The performance of the colored Gauss-Seidel solver on CPU and GPU was investigated for the two- and three-dimensional heat conduction problems by using different mesh sizes. The heat conduction equation was discretized by the finite difference method and finite element method. The CPU yielded good performance for small problems but deteriorated when the total memory required for computing was larger than the cache memory for large problems. In contrast, the GPU performed better as the mesh size increased because of the latency hiding technique. Further, GPU computation by the colored Gauss-Siedel solver was approximately 7 times that by the single CPU. Furthermore, the colored Gauss-Seidel solver was found to be approximately twice that of the Jacobi solver when parallel computing was conducted on the GPU.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the sediment volume concentration of the liquified-solid mixture which is included fine sediment fractions, according to the variance of the channel slope and the water supply. The numerical model was performed by using the Finite Differential Element Method (FDM) based on the equation for the mass conservation, momentum conservation and the equation of coarse sediment an fine sediment. In comparison of varying the channel slope, the deeper the channel slope, the inflection point of the sediment concentration was occurred rapidly. In comparison of variance of the water supply, as the water supply increases fluctuation with high sediment concentration. In this situation, debris flow changes to the turbulent flow and the sediment becomes to be floated. In comparison varying the length paved saturated sediment, the longer the length, the high concentration of sediment occurred, for the safety of the slope it is needed to check the possibility of the erosion in the slope by debris flow. The results of this study will provide useful information in predicting of the disaster by the liquified-solid mixture and in prevention of the debris flow with various the slope in the mountain side.

  • This study focus on a economic value of the Big Data technologies by real options model using big data technology company's stock price to determine the price of the economic value of incremental assessed value. For estimating stochastic process of company's stock price by big data technology to extract the incremental shares, Generalized Moments Method (GMM) are used. Option value for Black-Scholes partial differential equation was derived, in which finite difference numerical methods to obtain the Big Data technology was introduced to estimate the economic value. As a result, a option value of big data technology investment is 38.5 billion under assumption which investment cost is 50 million won and time value is a about 1 million, respectively. Thus, introduction of big data technology to create a substantial effect on corporate profits, is valuable and there are an effects on the additional time value. Sensitivity analysis of lower underlying asset value appear decreased options value and the lower investment cost showed increased options value. A volatility are not sensitive on the option value due to the big data technological characteristics which are low stock volatility and introduction periods.

  • The purpose of this study is to estimate the behavior and the mechanism of debris flow on the slope, which has specially various gradient plane. The numerical simulation was performed by using the Finite Differential Element method (FDM) based on the equation for the mass conservation and momentum conservation. The mechanism of flow type for debris flow is divided into three flow types which are stony debris flow, immature debris flow, and turbulent water flow, respectively. First, flow discharge, water flow depth, sediment volume concentration was investigated by variable input of flow discharge at the straight slope angle and two step inclined plane. As the input of flow discharge was decrease, flow discharge and water flow depth was increased, after the first coming debris flow only reached at the downstream. As the input of flow discharge was increased, the curve of flow discharge and flow depth was highly fluctuated. As the results of RMS ratio, the flow discharge and flow depth was lower two step slope angle than the straight slope angle. Second, the behavior of debris flow was investigated by the four cases of gradient degree at the downstream of slope angle. The band width of flow discharge and flow depth for $14^{\circ}$ between $16^{\circ}$ was higher than other gradient degree, and fluctuation curve was continuously high after 10 seconds.

  • Influence of the axial dispersion on immobilized enzyme catalytic bed was investigated in order to examine the kinetic behavior of the biocatalysis. The enzyme employed in this study was the tyrosinase(EC 1.14.18.1) immobilized on carbon support : this system requires two substrates of phenol and oxygen. This enzyme has potential application for phenol degradation in waste water. A simulated reactor was a packed-bed reactor of 2.54cm in diameter and 10cm long, loaded with the immobilized carbon particle with an average diameter of $550{\mu}m$. A phenol feed in the strength of 55.5mM(5220ppm) was used to observe the behavior of the immobilized enzyme column at three different dissolved oxygen levels of 0.08445mM(2.7ppm), 0.1689mM(5.4ppm) and 0.3378mM(9.5ppm) with the flow rates in the range of 60(1mL/s) to 180mL/min(3mL/s). Examination of the Biot number and Damkolher numbers of the immobilized system enables us to eliminate the contribution of external mass transfer to set of differential equations derived from the dispersion model. Solution of the equation was finally obtained numerically with the application of the Danckwert boundary conditions and the assumed zero-and first order rates on the non-linear two substrate enzyme kinetics. Higher conversion of phenol was observed at the low flow rates and at the higher oxygen concentration. Comparison of axial dispersion and plug flow model showed that no detectable difference was observed in the column outlet conversion between the axial and the plug flow models which was in complete agreement with the previous studies.
