This paper proposes an efficient image encryption scheme based on quintuple encryption using two chaotic maps. The encryption process is realized with quintuple encryption by calling the encrypt(E) and decrypt(D) functions five times with five different keys in the form EDEEE. The decryption process is accomplished in the reverse direction by invoking the encrypt and decrypt functions in the form DDDED. The keys for the quintuple encryption/decryption processes are generated by using a Tent map. The chaotic values for the encrypt/decrypt operations are generated by using a Gumowski-Mira map. The encrypt function E is composed of three stages: permutation, pixel value rotation and diffusion. The permutation stage scrambles all the rows and columns to chaotically generated positions. This stage reduces the correlation radically among the neighboring pixels. The pixel value rotation stage circularly rotates all the pixels either left or right, and the amount of rotation is based on chaotic values. The last stage performs the diffusion four times by scanning the image in four different directions: Horizontally, Vertically, Principal diagonally and Secondary diagonally. Each of the four diffusion steps performs the diffusion in two directions (forward and backward) with two previously diffused pixels and two chaotic values. This stage ensures the resistance against the differential attacks. The security and performance of the proposed method is investigated thoroughly by using key space, statistical, differential, entropy and performance analysis. The experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme is computationally fast with security intact.
Dynamic deflection monitoring is an essential and critical part of structural health monitoring for high-speed railway bridges. Two critical problems need to be addressed when using inclinometer sensors for such applications. These include constructing a general representation model of inclination-deflection and addressing the ill-posed inverse problem to obtain the accurate dynamic deflection. This paper provides a dynamic deflection monitoring method with the placement of optimal inclinometer sensors for high-speed railway bridges. The deflection shapes are reconstructed using the inclination-deflection transformation model based on the differential relationship between the inclination and displacement mode shape matrix. The proposed optimal sensor configuration can be used to select inclination-deflection transformation models that meet the required accuracy and stability from all possible sensor locations. In this study, the condition number and information entropy are employed to measure the ill-condition of the selected mode shape matrix and evaluate the prediction performance of different sensor configurations. The particle swarm optimization algorithm, genetic algorithm, and artificial fish swarm algorithm are used to optimize the sensor position placement. Numerical simulation and experimental validation results of a 5-span high-speed railway bridge show that the reconstructed deflection shapes agree well with those of the real bridge.
Palm oil was crystallized and melted in the differential scanning calorimeter (DSC) in the presence and the absence of sucrose fatty acid ester (SE) at the different scanning rate. In the presence of SE, the crystallization temperature of palm oil was lowered, because SE inhibited the formation of mother crystal at the initial cooling stage The melting curves of SE added palm oil changed irregularly in the ${\alpha}-form$ transition and fusion entropy. It was that the presence of SE affected the molecular diffusion in palm oil.
As the amount of electronic documents increases explosively, automatic text categorization methods are needed to identify those of interest. Most methods use machine learning techniques based on a word set. This paper introduces a new method, called FPTC (FP-Tree based Text Classifier). FP-Tree is a data structure used in data-mining. In this paper, a method of storing text sentence patterns in the FP-Tree structure and classifying text using the patterns is presented. In the experiments conducted, we use our algorithm with a #Mutual Information and Entropy# approach to improve performance. We also present an analysis of the algorithm via an ordinary differential categorization method.
In this paper a new approach for image encryption based on quadruple encryption with dual chaotic maps is proposed. The encryption process is performed with quadruple encryption by invoking the encrypt and decrypt routines with different keys in the sequence EDEE. The decryption process is performed in the reverse direction DDED. The key generation for the quadruple encryption is achieved with a 1D Circle map. The chaotic values for the encrypt and decrypt routines are generated by using a 2D Henon map. The Encrypt routine E is composed of three stages i.e. permutation, pixel value rotation and diffusion. The permutation is achieved by: row and column scrambling with chaotic values, exchanging the lower and the upper principal and secondary diagonal elements based on the chaotic values. The second stage circularly rotates all the pixel values based on the chaotic values. The last stage performs the diffusion in two directions (forward and backward) with two previously diffused pixels and two chaotic values. The security and performance of the proposed scheme are assessed thoroughly by using the key space, statistical, differential, entropy and performance analysis. The proposed scheme is computationally fast with security intact.
MacCormack's method is an explicit, second order finite difference scheme that is widely used in the solution of hyperbolic partial differential equations. Apparently, however, it has shown entropy violations under small discontinuity. This non-physical shock grows fast and eventually all the meaningful information of the solution disappears. Some modifications of MacCormack's methods follow ideas of central schemes with an advantage of second order accuracy for space and conserve the high order accuracy for time step also. Numerical results are shown to perform well for the one-dimensional Burgers' equation and Euler equations gas dynamic.

The PVT(pressure-volume-temperature) relation of main-chain dimer liquid crystals having structures such as $\alpha$,$\omega$-bis[(4,4`-cyanobiphenyl) oxy] alkane(CBA-n with=9, 10) were studied. these dimer liquid crystals are known to form an enantiotropic nematic mesophase. In this work, we have determined the volume change as a function of temperature and pressure by using a GNOMIX PVT apparatus. In the V-Tcurves obtaind from isobaris mearements on various pressures, volume changes were observed at the nematic-isotropiz and nematic-crystal phase transitions. The volume changes at the transition exhibit slight odd-even effect with respect to the number of methylene unit n. The values of the (S)v obtained at the NI transition for CBA-9 and -10 were 6.9 and 12.6J/mol k. The valuesof (S)v for the CN transition were estimated on the basis of DSC(differential scanning calorimetry) data: 58.8(CBA-9) and 65.3J/mol k (CBA-10). For both transition, it was found that the correction about the volume change is significant, ranging from 40% to 60% of the total transition entropy observed under constant pressure.
A trend in 3D mesh compression is codec design with low computational complexity which preserves the input vertex and face order. However, this added information increases the complexity. We present a fast 3D mesh compression method that compresses the redundant shared vertex information between neighboring faces using simple first-order differential coding followed by fast entropy coding with a fixed length prefix. Our algorithm is feasible for low complexity designs and maintains the order, which is now part of the MPEG-4 scalable complexity 3D mesh compression standard. The proposed algorithm is 30 times faster than MPEG-4 3D mesh coding extension.
In symmetric cryptography, a cryptographically secure Substitution-Box (S-Box) is a key component of a block cipher. S-Box adds a confusion layer in block ciphers that provide resistance against well-known attacks. The generation of a cryptographically secure S-Box depends upon its generation mechanism. In this paper, we propose a novel framework for the construction of cryptographically secure S-Boxes. This framework uses a combination of linear fractional transformation and permutation functions. S-Boxes security is analyzed against well-known security criteria that include nonlinearity, bijectiveness, strict avalanche and bits independence criteria, linear and differential approximation probability. The S-Boxes can be used in the encryption of any grayscale digital images. The encrypted images are analyzed against well-known image analysis criteria that include pixel changing rates, correlation, entropy, and average change of intensity. The analysis of the encrypted image shows that our image encryption scheme is secure.
K-SGICs(synthetic graphite intercalation compounds) were synthesized in a modified two-bulb pyrex tube. The pressure in the two-bulb tube was maintained at approximately $10^{-3}$ torr for the reaction of potassium and graphite. Deintercalation process of the K-SGlCs obtained by the modified method was heat-treated by keeping in liquid paraffin between $25^{\circ}C$ and $1400^{\circ}C$. The thermal stability and the temperature dependence of the K-SGICs were characterized using differential scanning calorimeter(DSC) analyzer. Enthalpy and entropy for K-SGIC formations were calculated by confirming the deintercalation and thermodynamic exothermic reactions depending on the various temperatures. The structure changes and thermal stability of K-SGICs during the deintercalation reaction of potassium ions and the interlayer spaces of the synthetic graphite were identified by X-ray diffraction(XRD).
