Generalized Distributed Multiple Turbo Coded Cooperative Differential Spatial Modulation

  • Differential spatial modulation uses the antenna index to transmit information, which improves the spectral efficiency, and completely bypasses any channel side information in the recommended setting. A generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation based on distributed multiple turbo code is put forward and its performances in Rayleigh fading channels is analyzed. The generalized distributed multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is a coded-cooperation communication scheme, in which we proposed a new joint parallel iterative decoding method. Moreover, the code matched interleaver is considered to be the best choice for the generalized multiple turbo coded-cooperative differential spatial modulation schemes, which is the key factor of turbo code. Monte Carlo simulated results show that the proposed cooperative differential spatial modulation scheme is better than the corresponding non-cooperative scheme over Rayleigh fading channels in multiple input and output communication system under the same conditions. In addition, the simulation results show that the code matched interleaver scheme gets a better diversity gain as compared to the random interleaver.

  • In this paper, multiple trellis code is combined with differential unitary space-time modulation (DUSTM). After the set partitioning of unitary space-time constellation for multiple trellis code is described, several code constructed are provided. BER results are presented.

  • The performance of continuous phase modulation signals is well known for the coherent demodulation. But the carrier recovery circuits of the coherent receiver have long acquisition time and the receiver experiences high error floors for fading channels. In this paper, we propose the differential demodulation of 2-h continuous phase modulation signals. The sets of modulation indices of 2-h phase codes adequate to the differential demodulation for differentially encoded input are obtained and the average bit error probability in Additive White Gaussian Noise environments is derived and analyzed.

  • 협력네트워크는 중계기를 이용하여 데이터를 전송함으로서 음영지역을 해소하고 가상의 다중입출력 구성을 통해 통신성능을 향상시킬 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 송신기와 중계기 사이에서는 동기변조 방식을 이용하고 중계기와 수신기 사이에서는 차등변조 방식을 이용하는 부분차등변조 방식을 적용한 협력네트워크의 성능을 중계기의 위치에 따라 분석한다. 성능분석은 송신기와 수신기사이의 직접파가 존재하는 시스템과 존재하지 않는 시스템 두 가지를 고려하는데, 직접파는 차등변조 방식을 적용한다. 또한 전체시스템이 차등변조 방식을 이용했을 경우에 중계기 위치에 따른 성능을 부분차등변조 방식과 비교한다. 시스템의 성능은 송신기와 수신기 사이의 심벌오류율을 이용한다.

  • 본 논문에서는 다중경로 페이딩 채널에서 고속의 데이터를 전송하고자 할 경우에 적합한 트렐리스 부호화된(Trellis-Coded TC) 차동 시 공간 변조(Differential Space Time Modulation, DSTbD를 사용한 OFDM 시스템을 제안한다. 최근에 시공간 부호화(Space-Time Code, STC)는 이동 통신 채널의 신뢰성 있는 통신을 위해 각광받고 있다. 차동 부호화된 STC 방식은 동기 방식처럼 채널 상태 정보(channel state information)가 필요하지 않기 때문에 동기 방식보다 하드웨어 구조가 간단하여진다. 그러나 이러한 차동 시공간 부호화된 OFDM방식의 커다란 문제점은 동기방식에 비해 성능이 저하된다는 것이다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 차동 시공간 부호화된 OFDM의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 DUSTM(differential unitary space-time modulation)을 이용하여 송신기를 설계하고 수신단에서 다중 심벌 디코딩을 수행하는 수신기와 디코딩 알고리듬을 개발하며, 이를 위한 새로운 branch metric을 유도하고자 한다.

  • 최근에 OFDM과 시공간 부호화(Space-Time Code, STC)는 차세대 이동 통신에서 고속의 신뢰성 있는 통신을 위해 각광받고 있다. 본 논문에서는 다중경로 페이딩 채널에서 고속의 데이터를 전송하고자 할 경우에 성능을 향상시키고자 트렐리스 부호화된(Trellis-Coded, TC) 차동 시공간 변조(Differential Space Time Modulation, DSTM)를 사용한 OFDM에서 다증 심벌 검파 시스템을 제안한다. 차동 시공간 부호화된 OFDM의 성능을 향상시키기 위해 DUSTM(differential unitary space-time modulation)을 이용하여 송신기를 설계하고 수신단에서 다중 심벌 검파를 수행하는 수신기와 디코딩 알고리듬을 개발하며, 이를 위한 새로운 가지 메트릭을 유도한다.

Iterative Multiple Symbol Differential Detection for Turbo Coded Differential Unitary Space-Time Modulation

  • In this paper, an iterative multiple symbol differential detection for turbo coded differential unitary space-time modulation using a posteriori probability (APP) demodulator is investigated. Two approaches of different complexity based on linear prediction are presented to utilize the temporal correlation of fading for the APP demodulator. The first approach intends to take account of all possible previous symbols for linear prediction, thus requiring an increase of the number of trellis states of the APP demodulator. In contrast, the second approach applies Viterbi algorithm to assist the APP demodulator in estimating the previous symbols, hence allowing much reduced decoding complexity. These two approaches are found to provide a trade-off between performance and complexity. It is shown through simulation that both approaches can offer significant BER performance improvement over the conventional differential detection under both correlated slow and fast Rayleigh flat-fading channels. In addition, when comparing the first approach to a modified bit-interleaved turbo coded differential space-time modulation counterpart of comparable decoding complexity, the proposed decoding structure can offer performance gain over 3 dB at BER of $10^{-5}$.

A scalar MSDD with multiple antenna reception of Differential Space-Time π/2-Shifted BPSK Modulation

  • In this paper, the issue of blind detection of Alamouti-type differential space-time (ST) ${\pi}/2$-shifted BPSK modulation in static Rayleigh fading channels is considered. We introduce a novel transformation to the received signal from each receiver antenna such that this binary ST modulation, which has a second-order transmit-diversity, is equivalent to QPSK modulation with second-order receive-diversity. The pre-detection combining of the result of transformation allows us to apply a low complexity detection technique specifically designed for receive-diversity, namely, scalar multiple-symbol differential detection (MSDD). With receiver complexity proportional to the observation window length, our receiver can achieve the performance 1.5dB better than that of conventional differential detection ST and 0.5dB worse than that qf a coherent maximum ratio combining receiver (with differential decoding) approximately.

  • In this paper, the differential detection technique of multi-h CPM is introduced and described. We derived the sets of modulation index of multi-h phase codes adequate to the differential detection. The power spectra of multi-h signals with various sets of modulation index are presented and compared to those of MSK and QPSK. Error rate performances of the conventional detector and Viterbi algorithm detector of 2-h and 3-h CPM are evaluated and compared.
