Development of Safety Management System for Moving Vehicles in Airside (Airside 이동체 안전관리 기술 개발)

  • As the number of passengers and the amount of cargo is getting increased, the traffic of aircraft and moving vehicle at an airport is getting busy. Especially, due to the heavy traffic of moving vehicles in the area of airside, the safety management of them is getting important. The study has been performed for suggesting improved methods in order to reduce safety accidents between aircraft and moving vehicles by introducing a safety management system for moving vehicles in airside of an airport. In order to improve the level of safety with the efficient management of moving vehicles in airside, the analysis of the domestic and international trends of the related technology and regulations has been performed. As a result, the conceptual design of safety management system has been suggested by utilizing the location information technology and four layers (hardware, network, middleware and application) approaches of safety management system.

  • The satellite-based ionospheric model consists of local first-order plane function parameters for individual satellites and provides excellent accuracy in the flat ionospheric environment of the Korean Peninsula. This paper analyzes the performance of such model under the rapid changes in the ionosphere. Rapid changes in the ionosphere were observed in Korea from September to October 2014, and a satellite-based ionosphere model was applied to Wide Area Differential GPS (WADGPS) to analyze the navigation performance and the performance of estimating ionospheric delay errors. After processing the test data, it was confirmed that there was a deterioration in navigation performance and extrapolation performance in low-latitude areas and analyzed the cause.

  • In this paper, we present a novel idea to integrate low cost Inertial Measurement Unit(IMU) and Differential Global Positioning System (DGPS) for Telematics applications. As well known, low cost IMU produces large positioning and attitude errors in very short time due to the poor quality of inertial sensor assembly. To conquer the limitation, we present a bimodal approach for integrating IMU and DGPS, taking advantage of positioning and orientation data calculated from CCD images based on photogrammetry and stereo-vision techniques. The positioning and orientation data from the photogrammetric approach are fed back into the Kalman filter to reduce and compensate IMU errors and improve the performance. Experimental results are presented to show the robustness of the proposed method that can provide accurate position and attitude information for extended period for non-aided GPS information.

Circular Polarization Dielectric Resonator Antenna Excited by Single Loop Feed

  • A new feeding method for the circular polarization (CP) dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is proposed in this letter. Two orthogonal modes (${TE^x}_{{\delta}11}$, ${TE^y}_{1{\delta}1$) of the rectangular DRA are excited by a $90^{\circ}$ phase difference of the differential and common modes currents of the proposed feeding structure. To demonstrate the good CP performance of the proposed method, a right-hand CP DRA for a global positioning system was designed. The impedance bandwidth of the proposed antenna for $S_{11}$ < -10 dB and 3 dB axial ratio bandwidth are about 5.4% and 1.95% at 1.57 GHz, respectively.

교통정보 및 DGPS 보정신호의 효율적인 전송을 위한 FM 부반 송파시스템에 대한 연구

  • 교통정보와 DGPS(Differential GPS) 보정신호의 전송은 ITS(Intelligent Transport System)의 핵심 응용분야인 차량항법시스템(CNS : Car Navigation System)의 동적경로안내(Dynamic Routine Guidance System) 시스템의 핵심적인 요구사항이다. 이 정보들은 서비스 특성상 넓은 지역을 수신지역으로 하고 24시간 연속적으로 전송이 되어야 한다. 즉 주행주인 차량에서 자신의 위치 정확히 파악하기 위한 DGPS 보정신호 및 사고, 교통통제나 체증 등의 교통사항을 항상 수신할 수 있도록 항시 전송이 되어야 한다. FM 방송을 활용하여 이러한 요구사항을 충족시키는 전송채널로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하기 위해 FM 방송과 DARC 방식의 부반송파 시뮬레이터가 제작되었으며 이 시스템의 특성이 연구되었다. 또한 정보데이터를 현용 FM 방송설비를 이용하여 전송하기 위한 방송시스템을 제작하고 서울 및 경기도 지역을 수신지역으로 한 방송수신상태의 측정이 수행되었다. 이 결과들은 FM 부반송이 ITS를 위한 전송채널로서 활용될 수 있다는 것을 보여준다.

  • As GNSS(Global Navigation Satellite System) is used in various filed, many countries establish GNSS system independently. But GNSS system has the limitation of accuracy and stability in stand-alone mode, because this system has error elements which are ionospheric delay, tropospheric delay, orbit ephemeris error, satellite clock error, and etc. For overcome of accuracy limitation, the DGPS(Differential GPS) and RTK(Real-Time Kinematic) systems are proposed. These systems perform relative positioning using the reference and user receivers. ETRI(Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute) is developing precision navigation system in point of extension of GNSS usage. The precision navigation system is for providing the precision navigation solution to common users. If this technology is developed, GNSS system can be used in the fields which require precision positioning and control. In this paper, we introduce the precision navigation system and perform design and algorithm verification.

정지궤도위성을 이용한 표준 시각/주파수 전송 시스템의 동기오차 보정 기술

  • 본 논문은 정지궤도위성을 이용한 표준시각/주파수 전송시스템의 동기 오차 요인을 분석하고, 한국과 같이 영토가 작은 국가의 경우, 정지궤도 위성을 이용하는 방식의 이점을 단파 또는 광 전용망을 이용하는 지상망 방식, 그리고 저궤도 위성을 이용하는 GPS방식과 비교 분석한다. 또한, 본 논문은 현재 서비스를 제공 중이거나 연구가 진행중인 단방향 위성 시각 전송 서비스를 고찰하고 특히, 무궁화 위성을 이용한 고정밀도의 표준시각/주파수 전 송서비스를 제공하기 위해 요구되는 동기오차 보정기술에 관하여 연구한다. 국가적 통신망 동기를 위한 표준 시각/주파수의 동기 정확도를 만족시킬 수 있는 효과적인 동기 오차 보정 방식으로 차동(differential mode)보정방식을 제안하고 그 성능을 분석하였으며 시각 정확도 와 주파수 정확도의 관계를 분석하였다. 모의실험 결과, 정상적인 시스템 운영하에서 시각 정확도와 주파수 정확도는 각각 100ns(95%)와 10-11(7일이상) 보다 우수한 것으로 분석되었 으며 본 논문에서 제시한 성능 개선 방안을 적용함으로써 보다 높은 정확도의 시각/주파수 동기가 가능함을 확인하였다.

Autonomous Navigation of KUVE (KIST Unmanned Vehicle Electric) (KUVE (KIST 무인 주행 전기 자동차)의 자율 주행)

  • This article describes the system architecture of KUVE (KIST Unmanned Vehicle Electric) and unmanned autonomous navigation of it in KIST. KUVE, which is an electric light-duty vehicle, is equipped with two laser range finders, a vision camera, a differential GPS system, an inertial measurement unit, odometers, and control computers for autonomous navigation. KUVE estimates and tracks the boundary of road such as curb and line using a laser range finder and a vision camera. It follows predetermined trajectory if there is no detectable boundary of road using the DGPS, IMU, and odometers. KUVE has over 80% of success rate of autonomous navigation in KIST.

  • This paper presents a practical method of realizing Differential GPS(DGPS) using an effective communication link. The DGPS technique is used to correct user's pseudorange measurements with trasmintted correction data from the reference station. An effective communication system is the key element for successful application of the DGPS. In this paper, a practical method for efficient data communication link for DGPS using mobile phone and TCP/IP protocol is presented. Its performance is verified via field test.

Measurement and Analysis of the Korean NDGPS Radiation Spectrum

  • The Korean nationwide differential global positioning system (NDGPS) reference station transmits a global positioning system (GPS) enhancement signal using minimum shift keying modulation with a 200 bps data rate. The ocean-based DGPS covers the service area of 100 NM with 300 W output power; on the other hand, the land-based DGPS transmits the output power of 500 W, which covers the service area of 100 km. The DGPS reference stations with high output power can radiate spurious signals, which may act as interference sources affecting the other DGPS reference stations or the wireless ground stations that utilize the medium frequency band. In this paper, the radiation spectrums of the DGPS reference stations are measured and analyzed in the spurious domain. The DGPS radiation spectrums are evaluated from the perspective of the interference effect.
