The gender difference in social roles affects digital devices' utilization differences in man and woman even in the 21st Century. Prior studies analyze the digital divide (genders, ages, etc.) from the assessment perspectives of digital equipment, such as PCs. In the area of high speed internet, most functions of PCs have been replaced with smartphones, and around 80% of the mobile phone users adopt smartphones. Subsequently the inequality of physical access to the digital devices is no longer a criterion for digital divide. The focus on digital divide should be shifted from the physical access to other factors, such as socio-technical or socio-cultural ones. This paper examines utilization of women's digital equipment, in particular, preparing for tourism activities, which is popular but sensitive to the technology. A survey was conducted with participants of [Suncheon Garden Expo] 2013. The results of this study capture the inactive use of digital devices particularly women over 50s. This phenomenon (high utilization of the digital devices for social or informative purposes, but low utilization of the digital payment) implies other aspects of Korean women (economic independence, low self-assertion, technical difficulties, etc.), which is considered from the socio-technological convergence perspective. This study also has a practical implication on the side of the digital device developers as well as marketing, where the qualitative communication is likely to be incorporated for the women over 50s.
Objective : The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of fidget spinner training on the hand function and handwriting legibility of lower grade elementary school studens. Methods : This study randomly assigned a study group of 12 children and control group of 12 children from 24 children in grade 1 and 2 (ages 7 through 8), whose are dominantly right handed. The study used was a pre-post process. The intervention was conducted only on the study group twice a week for 5 weeks and for 40 minutes per session, for a total of ten sessions. The measuring instruments used to compare the hand functions and handwriting legibility were the Jebsen-Taylor Hand Function Test, Grip Strength Test, and Legibility Test. The data analysis used a Wilcoxon signed rank, Mann-Whitney U and Chi-Square cross analysis. Results : The fidget spinner training showed significant improvement in the study group's hand function(grip strength and handwriting legibility) and a significant difference was shown between the control and study groups. Conclusion : This study confirmed the value and utility of a fidget spinner as a tool for improving the hand function and handwriting legibility of elementary school students in lower grades. Future studies are expected to verify the effectiveness of the fidget spinner training based on the present study.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of pelvic traction and muscle energy technique(MET) for hemiplegic patients on static standing balance. The scale for static standing balance is measured by using mean balance(%), frequence(Hz), sway area($mm^2$), sway path(mm), max sway velocity(mm/s), ant/post sway angle($^{\circ}$), lateral sway angle($^{\circ}$), sway number, change of pelvic height is measured in relation to the height of ASIS and PSIS. The subjects of this study were thirty hemiplegic patients: 15men and 15 women, with an average ages of 50.80 years. The thirty subjects were divided into 3 group of 10 at random ; ten subjects had pelvic traction after bobath therapy (the pelvic traction group), ten subjects had muscle energy technique after bobath therapy (the MET group), and ten subjects had only bobath therapy (the control group). Static standing balance was measured using BPM (balance performance monitor; data print software version 5.3), pelvic height was measured using height measuring with an adjustable horizontal arm. In order to assure the statistical significant of the result, an one-way ANOVA, the paired t-test, and a person's correlation were applied at the.05 level of significance. The results of this study were as follows: 1) The change in pelvic height were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 2) The change in affected and non-affected on weight bearing were not statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p>.05). 3) The change in frequency were statistically significant between the MET group, the control group and the pelvic traction group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 4) The change in sway area were statistically significant between the MET group, the control group and the pelvic traction group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 5) The change in sway pa1h were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 6) The change in max sway velocity were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 7) The change in ant/post sway angle were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 8) The change in lateral sway angle were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). 9) The change in sway number were statistically significant between the pelvic traction group, the MET group and the control group on pre-treatment and post-treatment(p<.05). In conclusion, there was a difference between the experimental group and the control group. In the future, we have to study continuously about pelvic traction and muscle energy technique in hemiplegic patients.
This study officially selected Kalopanax pictus. The root cutting and investigation conducted how the production process of the rooting ratio according to its age and its length gives some influence to the rooting ratio and what is the usage value in the effect of rooting ratio of an accelerant of plant growth and IBA treatment. The ages and ratio of rooting are one year $92.0\%$, two years $80.0\%$, and three years $67.0\%$. As shown above, one year cutting showed the highest growth. The rooting ratio by the length of the cutting-tree is $75.0\%$ in 5cm, $92.0\%$ in 10cm and $89.0\%$ in 15cm. There is a little differences according to the result of each analysis in the rooting ratio by the length of the cutting tree. Two groups having the length 10cm and 15cm showed the similar rooting ratio, while the group having the length 5cm showed that the rooting ratio is very low. The rooting ratio treated by the hormone, IBA showed that the treated group was $94\%$ and the untreated group was $92\%$. Although the treated group showed a little high rooting growth ratio, there was no significant difference. Thus, it is said that the treatment of IBA in the cutting tree is insignificant.

The rise in chronic disease not only has a negative effect on people's lives, but it also increases the cost of medical care owing to the increased usage of medical care as health and medical technology improves, life expectancy rises, and rapid population ageing. In such context, this study examined the difference in the disease cost of hypertension according to demographic information and the effect of the initial diagnosis age and treatment period on the cost. This study used the Korean Health Panel Survey from 2010 to 2017, and selected subjects based on health insurance beneficiaries between the ages of 30 and under 80. With the selected data, the direct and indirect costs of disease loss were calculated according to the cost of illness approach, and we constructed a disease-loss ratio cohort considering the age of diagnosis and time of treatment for hypertension. From the results of the study, the annual cost of disease loss for hypertensive patients differed by gender by 110,107 won, and it was found that the cost increased by 1.8 times as the treatment time increased. In addition, when comparing disease loss ratios between the same age groups, it was found that the disease loss ratios between those in their 60s and 70s were affected by treatment time. This study confirmed that hypertension significantly affects the cost of the disease, and not only requires early diagnosis and management, but also preventive efforts to lower the incidence of hypertensive disease must be strengthened.

With recent surge of attention to heating and air conditioning energy consumption, the need for evaluating performance of heating and air conditioning energy is also on the rise. This research aims to propose daily-life based evaluation method as an alternative to existing one, as well as to apply the method in real life to prove its validity. The results are as following. 1) I studied temperatures preferred by persons indoors and appropriate level of temperature, and the results show that properties of such persons such as age is directly linked with pleasantness of the room, but the issue lies with the fact that such properties are not considered in existing performance evaluation of heating and air conditioning. 2) Daily life based evaluation proposed herein reflects such properties of persons indoors. It controls heating / air conditioning devices installed in the test bed with the same size as a real life room to get quantitative and visual performances in our daily life as well as simple temperature information. 3) To verify validity of daily life based evaluation, I conducted different evaluation sessions with and without a blind and also based on ages of persons indoors. Results based on properties of persons showed difference of 77.6%, leading to effective analysis of energy consumption pattern by heating / air conditioning devices. This research takes significance in that it comes with a new performance evaluation method based on real life, and I gather that further studies are required to develop more multilateral performance evaluation in order to verify and improve technology for reduction of energy consumption.

Methylmercury (MeHg) is an environmental pollutant with neurotoxic effects on the central nervous system. The major exposure route of MeHg to humans is via consumption of fish and shellfish which accumulate the chemical through the food web in an aquatic environment. Hair mercury level is an excellent marker for MeHg exposure. We have been conducting a survey on hair mercury contents among general populations from 14 districts to estimate the current Japanese MeHg exposure level. Total mercury levels of all hair samples collected (12923 in total) were analyzed by the oxygen combustion-gold amalgamation method using an atomic absorption mercury detector. Multiple regression analysis revealed that mercury levels were significantly correlated with several covariates, such as sex, age, the amount of daily intake of total fish/shellfish, a preference for certain fish such as tuna or bonito, and artificial waving. The geometric means for the population without artificial waving were 2.47 and 1.65 ${\mu}g/g$ for males (n = 5623) and females (n = 3470), respectively. Hair mercury levels varied with age, and the variations were more significant in males. Since the difference between sexes was not evident at younger ages, some hormonal control might also be involved in the mercury uptake by human hair. The average mercury levels in our hair samples varied among the sampling districts. Tuna is a major carnivorous fish with high mercury accumulations that is often consumed in Japan. The amount of fish consumption and the preference rate far tuna would appear to be responsible far the regional variation in hair mercury levels in Japan. Recently, a provisional tolerable weekly intake (PTWI) of MeHg was revised by 61st JECFA to 1.6 ${\mu}g/kg/week$, which was about half that of the Japanese standard, and corresponded to a hair level of 2.2 ppm. The distribution of hair mercury levels in Japanese populations in the present study indicated that 25% of the Japanese females of child-bearing age were estimated to be exposed to MeHg over the PTWI level. This would reflect the high Japanese consumption of marine products. However, not only mercury contamination, but also the nutritional benefit may have to be considered when discussing the risk involved in the current level of fish and shellfish consumption in Japan.
An epidemiological investigation was carried out at Yongin, Kyungkido, South Korea to determine the prevalence of symptoms of temporomandibular disorders and parafunctional habits in adolescent aged 16, 17 and 18 years. 2,098 students(male 507, female 1,591) were randomly selected and investigated with the questionnaire. The results were obtained as follows, 1. The prevalence of symptoms of temporomandibular disorders was $80.9\%$ total, $77.3\%$ for male and $82.0\%$ for female with significance between male and female(P<0.05). 2. The prevalence of symptoms of temporomandibular disorders was gradually increased according to increasing age with significant difference among ages(P<0.001) 3. The most frequent symptom in the temporomandibular disorders is pain on chewing($65.9\%$), and then clicking($50.7\%$), Pain on mouth opening($41.8\%$), and pain on TMJ($36.8\%$) 4. There was little corelationship between clenching habits and symptoms of temporomandibular disorders(r=0.166), and also between bruxing habits and those(r=0.057).
Three natural Pinus thunbergii stands in southern Korea were studied to investigate stem density, biomass expansion factors, allometric equations and stand biomass. Stand ages of stand 1, 2 and 3 were 15, 29 and 45 years old, respectively. Three $10m{\times}10m$ plots were set up, five sample trees were cut and roots of three sample trees were excavated for dimension analysis in each stand. Stem density of stand 1, 2 and 3 were $0.450g/cm^3$, $0.440/cm^3$ and $0.457g/cm^3$, respectively, and there was no significant difference among the three stands. Biomass expansion factors of above-ground and total tree decreased with increasing stand age. Above-ground biomass expansion factor of stand 1 was significantly higher than those of stand 2 and 3, and total tree biomass expansion factor of stand 1 was significantly higher than that of stand 3. Allometric equations were developed for the 15 sample trees of the three stands based on D or $D^2H$. Above-ground biomass of stand 1, 2 and 3 were 50.72t/ha, 89.92t/ha, 194.07t/ha, respectively, and total tree biomass of stand 1, 2 and 3 were 61.62t/ha, 113.12t/ha, 248.36t/ha, respetively.
The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of video modeling observational learning intervention on the learning and performance of a bowling skill in adolescents with intellectual disabilities. Thirty special middle school students whose ages ranged from 14 to 16 years were recruited from Daegu, Korea. Intellectual disabilities of the participants were assessed by Korean version of the Wechsler intelligence scale for adolescent and a social maturity scale. During the experiment, participants repeatedly watched the one-minute action observation film for three minutes before beginning each frame and played 60 frames. Statistical comparisons were performed using a 2 (groups) ${\times}$ 6 (trials) ANOVA, with repeated measures on the last factor of the acquisition stage (p<0.05). Factors of the retention stage scores were analyzed by one-way ANOVA. The sources of any significant main effects were tested using a Tukey's HSD (honest significant difference) approach. SPSS 21.0 was used for statistical analyses. The performance scores of the action observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group. The findings showed that observational learning in the form video modeling has the potential to enhance acquisition and learning of a bowling sport skill in intellectual disability individuals; however, these findings are limited to adolescents with moderate intellectual disabilities.
