Since the freezer compartment and the refrigerating compartment are located side by side in a side-by-side refrigerator, the problems of the door height difference (DHD) and door flatness difference (DFD) have been constantly raised. Deformation of the cabinet of a built-in side-by-side refrigerator under food and thermal loads was analyzed by the finite element software ANSYS. The DHD and DFD, occurring due to the deformation of the cabinet, evaluated. From the results of the analysis of the cabinet, the 3D CAD software CATIA was used to geometrically translate and rotate the freezing and refrigerating compartment doors, in consideration of the displacement of the hinge fastening point. Then, the coordinates of two points on the upper corner of the doors were determined, and the DHD and DFD were obtained. It found that the thermal load, occurring under normal operation conditions, decreases the door height difference, but increases the door flatness difference. Values of the analyzed DHD and DFD appear smaller than the acceptance criteria used by the refrigerator manufacturer.
A colour-difference formulae would be based on a colour appearance model, but, So far, most colour-difference formulae in common use are based on empirical fits to data. Therefore, of the many proposed, none are completely satisfactory but advances have been made in recent years. A new color-difference data set has been produced with the aims of making a comparison of the advanced CIE Lab formulae as well as confirming the effect of color-difference. 416 low lightness pairs that have only lightness-difference were produced for evaluation of CIE Lab-based formulae on lightness-difference from glossy polyester fabric. The standard color-difference pair was prepared and used. It was neutral grey sample pair that has only lightness difference. The standard pair was used to investigate lightness tolerances. And grey-scale method used to evaluate visual assessment. CIE Lab coordinates of the samples were measured using a X-Rite 8200 spectrophotometer. Visual assessments were carried out using Gretag Macbeth The Judge II Light Booth. A study of color tolerances at low lightness was carried out and get avaliable some results.
Gasoline Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI) combustion is a new combustion concept. Unlike the conventional internal combustion engine, the premixed fuel mixture with high residual gas rate is auto-ignited and burned without flame propagation. There are several operating factors which affect HCCI combustion such as start of combustion (SOC), residual gas fraction, engine rpm, etc. Among these factors SOC is a critical factor in the combustion because it affects exhaust gas emissions, engine power, fuel economy and combustion characteristics. Therefore SOC of gasoline HCCI should be controlled precisely, and SOC detection should be preceded SOC control. This paper presents a control oriented SOC detection method using 50 percent normalized difference pressure. Normalized difference pressure is defined as the normalized value of difference pressure and difference pressure is difference between the in-cylinder firing pressure and the motoring pressure. These methods were verified through the HCCI combustion experiments. The SOC detection method using difference pressure provides a fast and precise SOC detection.
In this paper, a phase difference of liveline insulator was measured and analyzed to estimate the contamination degree. The probability of accident rises according to the increase of the contamination. So the estimation of contamination degree is very important in design and maintenance of outdoor insulator. There are many methods to measure the contamination degree, but those methods use the spacial sense to measure the contamination degree. So, we have no information about the contamination from the liveline insulator, but there is a measurement of phase difference to estimate the contamination degree. The phase difference is varied with the increase of ESDD, so the contamination degree could be estimated by using those characteristics. The experiment is performed to analyze the interrelationship between contamination degree and phase difference. The variable condition is relative humidity that increases from 30 to 100 % in a chamber. We use the DAS program to measure and analyze the data. From the result, the variation of phase difference is different by the contamination degree, so we can confirm the possibility of estimating the contamination degree by the phase difference.
This study investigates the difference in the evaluation of foreign-accentedness of English pronunciation across subject groups, evaluated accents, and compared components. This study independently evaluates the prosody and segmentals of the foreign-accented English sentences by pairwise difference rating. Using the prosody swapping technique, segmentals and prosody of the English sentences read by native speakers of American English (one male and one female) were combined with the corresponding segmentals and prosody of the English sentences read by male and female native speakers of Chinese, Japanese or Korean (one male and one female from each native language). These stimuli were evaluated by 4 different subject groups: native speakers of American English, Korean, Chinese, and Japanese. The results showed that the Japanese subject group scored higher in prosody difference than in segmental difference while the other groups scored the other way around. This study is significant in that the attitude toward the difference in segmentals and prosody of the foreign accents of English varies with the native language of the subject group. In other words, for native speakers of some languages, the difference in prosody could have a greater influence on the foreign-accentedness than the difference in segmentals, while for native speakers of other languages the other way around.

We have not identified on what gender difference during gait at a pace of one's preferred velocity effects on the function of bilateral lower limb. This study was undertaken to investigate a difference of gait strategy by gender during gait at a one's preferred velocity of participants of adult male and female (n=20). Cinematographic data for motion analysis, ground reaction force (GRF) variables, and muscle volume of lower limb were analyzed. Significant difference of variables on movement of center of mass whole body, joint angle and moment of lower limb, and ground reaction force were tested by 2-way ANOVA analysis (P<0.05). Male group showed more muscle volume than female, and both showed more volume in dominant leg than non-dominant. Main effect by bilateral leg during gait showed higher difference in right than left leg in change of vertical position of center of mass (maximal, minimal). Main effect by gender in vertical change of position and velocity of center of mass showed higher difference in male than female (maximal, minimal). Hip joint showed more flexed and extended angle in male than female, and also dorsiflexion of ankle and flexion moment of knee and hip joint showed higher in male than female group. Therefore, this result was assumed that dominant showed furthermore more contribution for propulsive function than non-dominant leg. Gender difference showed in strategy controlling of biomechanical characteristics, and perhaps influenced by muscle volume.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of cotton fabric texture perceived between on-line(screening fabric) and off-line(real fabric), and to analyze fabric characteristics having an effect on the difference. The similarity of 55 various cotton fabrics perceived between on-line and on-line were measured showing simultaneously real fabrics and screening fabrics by 7-scale questionnaire. And the characteristics of cotton fabrics such as weave structure, thickness, weight, fabric density, stiffness, Hunter's L, a, b, and hue were measured. Cotton fabrics were classified into 3 groups by extent of similarity. There were no significant differences in weft density, stiffness, Hunter's L, a, b, and hue among 3 groups. But there were significant differences in weave structure, thickness, weight, warp density, and difference of warp & weft density. The fabrics having large similarity were thick and heavy, had small warp density and difference of warp & weft density, and distinct surface texture. The group having medium similarity included fabrics of medium thickness and weight, having weak surface texture, large warp density and difference of warp & weft density. The group having small similarity, which the differences between on-line and off-line were large, included thin and light fabrics having smooth surface and large warp density and difference of warp & weft density.
The bending phenomenon has been known to be occurred by the difference of velocity at the die exit. The difference of velocity at the die exit section can be obtained by the different velocity of billets inside die chamber after passing the multi-hole container. The curvature can be controlled by the two variables, the one of them is the different velocity of billets through the multi-hole container, the other is the difference of hole diameter. The bending phenomenon during extruding using four billets can be obtained by the difference of hole diameters in the multi-hole container or by the difference of relative velocity of billet inserted in the container. As results of DEFORM-3D analysis, it can be shown that bending can be obtained during extruding by the difference of relative velocity of two billets or by the difference of hole diameter, and the amount of curvature is increased by the difference of velocity and diameter. According to the shape of products, the curvature of rectangular section is bigger than the curvature of regular square section. And, it is estimated that, because the stress on the welding line is much higher than yield stress of material, the bonding of four billets can be obtained.
This paper presents the optimization process of liquid desiccant cooling system using LiCl aqueous solution as a working fluid. Operating conditions(mass flow rate, conditioner outlet concentration, difference concentration) and design factors for heat exchangers(difference temperature of the district heating water, leaving temperature difference of the conditioner, leaving temperature difference of the regenerator, air temperature difference of the conditioner, air temperature difference of the regenerator) were optimized by response surface method. As a result, we obtained the 7.297 kW of cooling capacity and 0.788 of COP at optimized condition. Effect of difference temperature of hot water on system performances was also examined. As difference temperature of the district heating water increases, the cooling capacity increases and COP decreases.
This study analyzes the difference of perspectives between companies and students for tax science education in order to present plans to enhance the efficiencies of tax science education. Analyses were made on a total of 93 subjects composed of companies and seniors majoring in tax science at the department of taxation in K University. After analyzing the perspectives on the need for the current curriculum, there was no difference in the overall average between companies and students. For the need for revising the education course, there was a difference in perspective between the two groups at about 1%. There was no difference between the groups for perception on theoretical, lab and on-site experience education, but there was a high difference from the current education course for its perception level. For certification instructions there was a noticeable difference between companies and students at about 1%, and companies responded that guidance on computerized taxation accounting was needed, while students stated that they needed guidance on financial administrator certification. In brief, the significance of this study is that it shows that in order to enhance the efficiency of education on tax sciences, the rapidly changing educational environment must be reflected, and the demands of companies and students.
